garratt torlesse on 02/06/2012 - 09:33 ¶Ben Sherman just had a 40 percent off store wide at there dedicated stores, and the range is better.
+1 voteswimmingtoad on 02/06/2012 - 14:00 ¶Yes, but their dedicated stores are located far and wide compared to Myers.
+1 voteCrownanchor on 02/06/2012 - 12:11 ¶The reason behind this is that the pricing of the premium brands is out of Myers control. These brands have independant sales and often have a sale at the same time as Myer, but the discounts will vary, but are often extended over Myers one day sales. Rhodes and Beckett is one example of this.

Yup, i'm wondering where this is mentioned also. Closest thing I could find was http://www.myer.com.au/christmas-club.aspx which runs until 1st October 2012 but you have to set up direct debit.

Note: it ends before this sale event.

Thanks for the heads up on gift cards. Ended up buying my mattress today rather than on Tuesday… Paid $4.55 more today though so I'm a little disappointed in myself but I couldn't be bothered with the crowds. Took advantage of their pay for single bed prices promo to get a new king mattress. There would have been a better percentage discount with Sealy but ended up with Dunlopillo because I liked the pocket springs better.
Original Price (plus delivery): $4,899 + $55
Discounted Price: $2,699 (44.91%) + $55
Total Paid: $2,504 ($2,500 for $2,750 gift cards) + $4
Actual Saving: $2,540 (49.45%)Pretty happy with the savings :)

+4 votesits true the clothing selection in australia, especially for men is utterly pathetic and still charge top dollar for it. go into Myer and its like walking back in time with old levis and similar generic stuff at huge prices. I have got the odd bargain from Myer, but it always from the clearance section with an extra 75% off and its rare.
+2 votesswimmingtoad on 02/06/2012 - 15:29 ¶I think its 10% off after the reduction in price, which isn't 30%, i.e
For example a $100 item.
20% off $100 = $80
- 10% team disc
= $72 or 28%

+2 votesgarratt torlesse on 02/06/2012 - 09:35 ¶There are not complaining that there is sale. They are complaining that its not a bargain.

I can't see myself turning up to this preview night sale.
The regular Myer service is now almost non-existent, but on a night like this with many more people in store, I couldn't bare the combination of crowds and queues. But some of the discounts sound good (typical to better than normal for Myer Stocktake Sale)

I think you may have just went on a busy normal day. I went to Myer on a normal day to purchase a suit and got AMAZING service. It's really quite simple if you want great service then don't go on a sale day, if you want cheap items then go on a sale day, but don't expect the best service. You have to pick one or other you can't get both!
Crownanchor on 02/06/2012 - 11:52 ¶This maybe false, as i did a price match recently and was asked how i would be paying for my purchase as part of the price match and if my purchase was going to be approved.
I was able to price match, but not sure if it was because it was 80% in gift cards, and 20% on credit card.
Either way was a great deal 15% off an Apple Mac, price matched DSE, with the extra 9% bonus on 80% ($10 for $100 gift card) , plus about an extra $50 bonus for Myer One ($30, for 3000 points plus $20 Silver Birthday bonus)
Myer gives the best deal in Australia for Apple Mac, based on the gift card bonus, Myer One and price match.

As far as I understood, I can buy a gift card with max. $1000 and I would get $1100. Let's saw I would like to buy a LCD TV and it's more than 4000.
Can I buy 3 gift cards and use in one transaction? And can buy a TV with the 15% discount on 5th June and use those 3 gift cards?
+1 voteFor anyone wondering/confused about the offer, here's a good example of how to use it to your advantage.
Say you want to buy a RRP$3000 TV…
- Tomorrow, you buy $2000 in giftcards and receive $200 in bonus.
- On Tuesday night, you get 15% off, which takes the TV down to $2550
- You use your giftcards and cash/card to pay
- The $3000 TV actually cost you only $2350.
If you have staff discount (additional 10% for electrical) and used that method, the TV would only cost you $2095.
Bargains4All on 02/06/2012 - 19:33 ¶I think you can only buy the gift cards with the discount in-store.
LionelRichie on 03/06/2012 - 20:32 ¶I bought the Scanpan classic set for 40% a few weeks ago - it hasn't been opened as I bought it as a present. Would I be able to take it back and get the extra 20% off as advertised in this sale?
