next time its $20/yr again, ill be jumping on it.

  • +21

So just confirming for us who’ve already been a OP member, this is more of a PSA that Priceline joined the family right? Or is there anything else new I’m missing..

  • +2

So if I buy a Macbook from OW and don't open, I can return it for up to 12 months???

    • +2

      yes but why would you?

      • +9

There are some good use cases, incl. hitting minimum spend on credit cards.

        • +3

That is a very good case. Point taken

        • +1

As long as you don't close the card!

        • +1

wait so returns won't affect your minimum spend?

          • @bigpoppa: Once the rewards hit the account, can't take back even if you get all your spends by refunds.

        • Do they return back the money to a different CC?
if yes, amazing. credit card churners :)
If no, will end up with many OW giftcards.
          but yes, task successfully completed.

          • +2

@turtleCatcher: If return comes through after card is closed or if no more spend, the credit card company will give you a cheque…

            • -1

              @freedomofspeech: Give you a what?

Oh! You mean one of those 19th-century monetary instruments that magically turn words on paper into money after a clearance waiting time of 3-10 days.

    • +2

      Nope, the OW website says:

Return your products in-store at Officeworks. Just keep the tags on and return the product in it's original condition along with your receipt. Excludes technology and perishable goods.

  • +16

Damn i was thinking its $0 for a year membership

    • Same

    • +8

Yeah whats the deal? Reads like an ad

      • +3

Yea, title should be updated to $40 a year

  • fantastic, ill check instantscripts out, how is their pricing compared to CW?

  • +5

Be aware if you live in rural areas, highly chances are you still need to pay for deliveries even if you have OnePass.

    • +3

Yeah, it's made the Bunnings component essentially worthless to me. Powerpass generally gets better discounts when instore anyway.

    • +3

Exactly - we live about 35 minutes from Hobart, where our nearest Officeworks, Target and Kmart are located, and our nearest Bunnings and Priceline stores are only 20km away, but we can't get free delivery from OnePass from any of them so no point in joining whilst we live here. Actually, we can't get deliveries from Bunnings at all, even as a paid option.

    • +1

No Bunnings even if I pay for delivery, and no free officeworks for me.
      Kmart and Target are good.

  • -2

There was a service a few years ago via Australia post where delivery was covered with Myer, etc. they closed it down. I hope OnePass becomes the same.

    • +3

It was Shipster or something I recall.

      • Yep just searched that in my emails. Covered so many stores

        • Free shipping applies to orders from participating retailers with an order total of $25 and over and shipping costs under $20. Domestic parcels only.
  • +3

Is that a deal? Isn't it just news?

    • And old news. Instascript has been on for ages.

  • -6

Onepass is making amazon prime almost useless. Just need groceries (at least the non-perishable stuff) and pets covered and I will cancel my prime membership

    • +15

      Pump the brakes!

Onepass has nowhere near the range of next day delivery items that you can get with Prime. I’d go so far as to say it’s a complementary service - different products, different range, different prices. And no streaming service.

So no. It’s not making Prime look useless.

      • +3

Yeah next day delivery is addictive like crack, and it's easy to track prices with camel to get the best deal. Don't care for streaming but yeah you're right prime has got me by the balls.

    • +2

I have OnePass (DIsney+ one) and I legitimately can't find anything worth buying, ever. I've used it once. What do you even buy? Prime I'm still buying stuff every few days.

      • +1

look i got a problem with buying useless shit from kmart and bunnings

        • +3

As a regional buyer, that's a user problem…. I buy useful shit from kmart regularly and have it delivered free by onepass.
Not so for bunnings and officeworks…. bunnings won't deliver at all, and officewords charges.
However, amazon prime doesn't play princess… they deliver everything same as a city buyer.

  • -1

    They can’t win Amazon

  • +1

Catch is select products also, but glad I read this deal despite being a member as I hadn't seen that Priceline joined

  • +2

Good to know - will be better when Priceline is cost competitive with CW and has a better range and website - hard to find decent prices even with a promo.
It's early days but Wesfarmers really need to get their skates on with this.

  • I use OnePass for free deliveries.
I wish their deliveries were quicker - sometimes it takes up to a week!!!

When ordering something from Bunnings, one often needs it quickly. I find that, for these, it is better to order from Amazon if they have it, as next day delivery.

    • I find their click and collect is super fast but annoyingly if I have bigger items in my cart it automatically puts them to delivery. I end up just doing click and collect for the items it lets me do then buy the bigger things when I collect the C&C items.

  • -3

How do these onepass 'deals' get away with not following the rules of price in title? I have to read half way through the description to find it
At first glance looks free. Misleading

  • +1

I'll chime in to say I'm another happy customer of Onepass. I'm in metro Sydney so I can get free delivery from all of the retailers included.

Most used would be Bunnings (just bought a home with a yard so have needed that pretty often). Usually delivered next day if I order from my nearest Bunnings but even if I have to order from a more distant one (which means they use auspost) it only takes a few days. Usually put an order in sometime during the week to have things ready to go by the time the weekend rolls around.

Also shop from Kmart more now because I usually hate going into a mall to get to a Kmart. But this ends up saving me money because things I would normally buy for more money to avoid going to Kmart (Amazon usually) I can now buy from Kmart from the comfort of my home.

I won't at all be surprised when they reinstate minimum spend limits at Bunnings though. I needed some adhesive rubber feet for my bed and ordered just that. The shipping receipt showed they spend $9 on shipping an item I paid $3 for.

Priceline having a meltdown. Can't log into the Priceline membership to link One Pass, apparently has an internal error

    • +2

Likewise. Let me know when you can get it to work!

    • I clicked "forgot my password" before I read this comment, thought it was just my issue. Weirdly it started working after I reset so might be worth a try.

      • Still.internal error

        Might try the password update

      • Yes it was fixed it after a password reset.

  • Catch returns cost money

    • +1

I stopped using Catch years ago when they changed from "you catch a bargain" to "we catch a sucker" …

  • +1

I'm using the trial at the moment. Except for Bunnings I don't use these stores often enough to warrant it.
    As far Bunning goes,

    • Items would show in stock, then you get a message they are low in stock - not out, just low - and exclude it (interestingly items that is low cost)
    • Bunnings online only have a fraction of the their items online .. and usually the higher cost (or margin?) items in any particular line.
    • Don't see the value in click-and-collect since If I have to drive all the way there, might as well get the better priced option in-store which is not listed online.
    • Excluding special orders suck
    • Definition of "bulky" and "dangerous" goods does not align to the expected based on orders one can place at competitors.
