  • I went into my Local JBHiFi and asked for a discount, and they gave me this combo for $1920, not quite a price match but pretty good considering they don't normally reduce prices on DJI unless its a DJI Promo.

    • If you shop at Woolworths, buy the Avata from JB would be cheaper. Get the HIM gift cards for bonus points, effectively another 10% off. Caveat is that you have to buy the GCs over 2 days because WW limits 10 cards per day.

    • How is it? Looks great lots just so expensive

      • Unfortunately the included motion controller isn’t charging, so I haven’t flown it yet. taking it back after work today to get sorted out

        • Well this is interesting, the motion controller I have, possibly doesn’t like USB-PD.. I was able the charge both the drone and goggle battery at home using my MacBook Pro ac adapter, with an apple USB-C to C cable, however the motion controller wouldn’t charge. I’ve just tested another charger at work, which is an apple 20w USB-A iPhone charger, with a Samsung usb-A to C cable, and it appears to be charging 🤷‍♂️

Another one of those things that I'd love to have but really don't need it. Would love to rent one for a few days.

Basically drones are restricted for recreational use and can't fly them anywhere in a practical way :(
Would really consider getting one otherwise.

    • They really aren’t that heavily restricted and there’s plenty of user friendly apps that you can download that give you maps and weather data to ensure it’s safe to take it out.

was half considering this but realised you can't fly it legally in Vic using the goggles without having a second person as a spotter. CASA rules require you to have line of sight at all times.

Really? I wonder what the odds are for getting caught? Drone flying can be very discreet and I see people do it all the time near where I am and most of the time I only see a tiny speck in the sky and pilot not where in sight.

Use common sense and you won’t have an issue.

    Just like escooters, basically illegal.
