      He's not playing them scaled up. People say the colours of the 3DS are slightly duller though apparently not on non-power saving mode. It's because the DS screen is smaller so you can either play at the original resolution (as shown) or hold start or select and get it to scale to the Y-height of the screen (black bars on the left and right).

      You can either play it upscaled (makes pixel art look like crap), or play at the original resolution with black borders (meaning you're playing on a pair of 2.4 inch screens). I mean, if you're buying a 3DS anyway, it's good enough, but if you only want it for playing DS games, get a cheaper DSi or DSi XL.

    Definitely going to try and nab one of these from the online store on the 21st unless the K-Mart catalogue that's also releasing on the 21st is cheaper. The Target one just isn't worth the extra $30 for two shit-house games.

      rayman orgins is an amazing game on the vita the 3ds version may not be as good but you cant call it shithouse without trying it out.

        Oh Rayman Origins is a wonderful game by all means but the 3DS is absolutely not the console to play it on.

    I don't think I'll purchase a 3DS until it hits an affordable $150. Graphics wise it's no PS VITA, but I really want to play the pokemon games. If I can get it cheaper, perhaps I'll get it down the line.

      Graphics wise isnt so important..3Ds games still look nice. PS Vita is way overprice and has no good games. There are many great games for 3DS (no pokemon though..)

          Aside from a few spinoff games, nope. The next ones (Black 2 and White 2) are DS titles. We won't see any main series Pokemon games on the 3DS until late 2013 at the earliest.
