360

Deal is now activated. Limited 500 in stocks after activation. so far, about 130 units left.
Black color only.

Well, here it is! The Group Deal for the Apple New iPad (the 3rd generation)! You must be wondering “what’s the big deal about this New iPad? It looks the same as iPad 2”. Yes, it’s slightly (0.6mm) thicker and slightly (50g) heavier. But you will find highly noticeable differences once you start up the New iPad. You will be fascinated by the improved graphics, speed, enhanced camera and even its sustainable battery life. By the time you begin to adapt to this new device, you can’t go back to iPad 2.
The Retina Display
One of the most significant elements that made the New iPad so enhanced is its Retina Display. Remarkably, the Retina Display offers a HD resolution of 2048x1536 pixels on a 9.7” screen. That’s even more pixels than a typical full HD screen (1920x1080) and twice the resolution of iPad 2! The sharp display is highly noticeable at first glance especially when you are browsing through the internet, reading eBooks, playing games or even watching movies. The experience has often been described as “as if you’ve put on a new pair of glasses”.
The A5X Processor (dual-core, w/ quad-core graphics)
By comparison to A5 on iPad2, the A5X in the New iPad has two times faster GPU to accommodate their Retina Display. Moreover, coupled with the quad-core processing speed the new iPad gives gamers a phenomenal tablet gaming experience. The 3D graphics looks almost as if you are playing your Xbox or PS3 on an iPad.
The iSight Camera
Another greatly enhanced feature is the New iPad’s 5MP rear camera with 1080p recording capability. The rear camera is also equipped with stabilization and face detection. Although megapixels matters, there are also other elements that matters as well in terms of picture quality. The iSight lens has advanced attributes of ƒ/2.4 aperture and five-element lens. It captures lights efficiently for overall good results.
Dictation
Dictation is another enhanced feature of the New iPad that iPad 2 does not have. The feature is very simple to use. Just simply tap the microphone icon on your keyboard and start talking! You speak, the iPad listens. It enables you to search the web, send a text or even tweet with your voice only. The Dictation feature also works with third-party apps.
Battery Life
With all the excitement generated by the Retina Display and the A5X Processor, people are naturally concerned about the battery power that these enhancements need. No worries! Apple has packed a much larger battery into the New iPad to juice up the device for up to 10 hours. That means by matching iPad2’s battery life, you’ll have the same amount of time enjoying the New iPad with enhanced features.
The Apple New iPad is an overall remarkable tablet PC. With the Retina Display and A5X Processor, Apple has again pushed their iPads far ahead of the tablet PC competition. What’s even more exciting is for just $450.00, you can have one of these delivered to you! Be fast because there are only 500 units available!

deal has to be active to be able to post

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:deal_posting_guideline…

i learned the hard way as well.

  • Deal not active, unpublished.

Edit: Please use report button if it does become active, and we can re-publish.

    • Deal republished now that it's active.

      • +1

        no ABN

      • +8

I know this is policy and all that but it's a bit stupid with these deals to unpublish them until they're on as often the only way to get in on the deal is to join before it becomes active. The window to get onto this once it was active was a few minutes!

        • +1

Agreed - it is a bit silly. Considering people will put up posts about how said bargain will be available in a week from whatever store it is. Technically those deals aren't active either and yet they get to stay.

          Example:

          http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/72987

Posted on 19/06 and the offer isn't available until 28/06 as per the OZB post. So why are these OK and yet group buy ones aren't?

        • -1

Group buy deals have no guarantee that the deal/sale will go ahead, while a regular sale being posted will go ahead on the specified date.

        • -2

what the "hell" are you talking about ?, they have a countdown timer for pete's sake… lol

        • +2

I assume you were replying to me Elijah. Group buy have to hit a minimum number of people to activate. If they don't reach that number then there's no deal. So to put it up on Ozb when it might not be a deal seems wrong.

That being said I think it may be worth revisiting this guideline or allow exceptions in cases like this one where it could sell out very quickly.

  • +2

    Not Australian stock.

    • +2

Will that cause some trouble? With regards to warranty or something else?

      • +1

so this means you cant claim edu tax refund on it? just wondering

        • -1

It means you won't be able to connect to 4G.

    • +16

IF you don't like reading it, well DONT! Some people don't know the product well. After all, I am not selling the product to make any profit. Please show some respect to the OPs as every deal that I post is for people like to share the bargains here. Your attitude will not get you anywhere. Ps, you have never posted any deal before.

    • +4

Those who post don't 'have' to explain anything clearly. A link and a clear title is more than enough. It is up to the person who is interested in the deal to click through and do their own research into the deal to see if it is for them.

If you have specific questions you can ask them here and if someone wants to help and offer advice they will.

Best practice is to not attack someone who posts a deal as this will lead to folks being less inclined to add posts to OZB and will lead to a steady decline in deals. If the deal isn't for you don't complain - just move along.

If you have nothing nice to say… blah blah.

      OP - thanks for posting.

      • cheers :)

    • Some ppl here are just so damn anally retentive.

  • Sold out :(

  • Gonesky :(

  • Connection
    • Wi-Fi only
    • Bluetooth
    • USB v2.0 <— are you sure about this?

    USB port on an iPad?

    • How do you think you connect it to your computer? :P

      • :)

      • +1

That's the other end of the cable. No USB on the iPad.

    • +2

Well, the description says USB 2.0 connection, not USB 2.0 port.
Hence, yeah iPad has USB 2.0 connection using propietary port.

      :)

      • got my hope up for a second there.
        thanks for the clarification.

  • sold out

  • +5

Was tempted but Might as well wait for the new Google tablet…

    • +1

    • waiting for the $200 google tablet too! :D

  • Thought I just missed it but got email that it just went through… Cant wait :)

hi guys. Good deal. I'm in the education sector and we were doing some price checks on buying bulk ipads 32GB Gen 3 WI-FI (Aus Stock) etc from various resellers and boy can you get them in lots of 250 at a good price. If I remember correctly they are priced at about 375 each for bulk buy.

Note: They come in batches of 15 or something, eg the ipads come inside a big box which has dividers inside and there is another big box containing all the chargers. You don't get anything else besides the usb cable, ipad, wall charger.

For proof, here is me using a small batch of ipads as a mouse pad.

    http://i.imgur.com/VJAWS.jpg

Would be interesting if I could setup a deal and get a batch for you guys.

    • +2

      Wo~~, that will be awesome!

    • that would be awesome.

    • Wow that's cheap…

    • Buy it n post it on ebay :) keep 30$ ur profit per ipad and sell it to OPs :) i m sure u will be oz bargained in a few mins for 15 ipads lol

      • you need to buy 250 to get that price. They are boxed in lots of 15 or something. Can't remember.

    • will be interested if it can be done.

    • I have iPad 3. Will you be able to do the same for google nexus 7 when it is out?

    • If this goes ahead I would definitely be in for 2-3.

    • Looking at that desk blazer, you guys could spend some of the savings on a decent cleaner! ;)

  • Count me in for the 32gig deal

    • +4

i'm am not sure of the logistics of buying a large batch, we have so far only bought them in small batches 30 or less per batch. We will highly likely be buying 2 large batches soon 100+ per batch.

The reseller is able to setup an online shop where individuals are able to pay. I am not sure whether the devices will be delivered to them or to a central location. Delivering to a central location would make sense if they are in a big box as described. If they are individually boxed then it would be really really nice, if they delivered them individually then even better.

While the price is definitely nice, i cannot imagine how it is possible to distribute 250 out all around Australia, let alone find room to store the delivery. I am also unsure whether the pricing I stated is educational pricing or whether it is the discount for buying a large batch.

If there is interest I can contact them and find out more.

      • +1

Definite interest. Even if you made a small profit of $10/unit and added $15/unit for shipping it would still be good. You'd make $2.5k for your troubles and would have no trouple moving them. I for one would happily pay $400 for a 32gb iPad3 without the box.

        • +1

@Token8. While 2.5k like a bit, it really isn't after you factor in returns, people saying they didn't get it and various of other mishaps. You would make a loss, I would rather like to do this for the community at 0 profit.

Nevertheless I have just contacted the reseller for further pricing information on non-educational ipads.

          Lets see how it goes.

        • Oh absolutely, it would be a huge undertaking. That's why there should definitely be a small markup, to offset incidentals you may suffer, with any balance as recompense for the time you put in. A small amount spread over 200+ would still more than likely be enough to make sure you ddn't make a loss. Especially since insured shipping is relatively cheap in Australia, which is where I arrived at the $15 figure.

This is all academic anyhow, as I would never have the patience to do this and can hardly expect someone else to.

          Kudos for even contemplating it!

        • one for me as well ^_^

        • See how it goes =) I'm interested

      • +1

        Count me in

      • +5

I contacted the reseller and they have sent me a quote for 250 non-educational pricing

        250 The NEW Apple iPad with Wi-Fi 32GB - Black or White $560.00 $154,000.00

Freight: • Road Freight - as per freight quote
Terms: • Purchase order and 20% deposit, then full payment prior to delivery.
        •Direct Deposit,

        Welp. Not very cheap.

        I tried guys…

        • +3

thanks for trying anyway!! kuddos to you

        • if i'm in uni can i get it at the lower price? :)

        • Blazer, which re seller did you contact for this quote?

  • Good price on the iPad 3. Too bad I missed out :-(

  • Part of the reasons for cheap iPads in education sector is because:

In the book "Steve Jobs", his ultimate goal for the iPad is to sell digital textbooks to students.

  • gulp, at those (bulk) prices, I think I'll stick to BigW

  • +1

Why dont u get it at educational pricing ;) n resell it to ozb

  • -1

Just wait for the iPad 4, it will be alot better and an entirely new experience :)

  • -1

Why are you guys jumping into this anyway, U can get it from becextech for $489. I would not mind paying that extra 40 odd dollars to buy from a well know local supplier.

    http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/redirect.cgi?name=BecexT…

    • +1

$489 does not include postage. And their postage comes to AU$74.95 to VIC. So I reckon they ship their products from overseas as well.

  • Anyone recieved an update on postage? Hopefully they already have the stock in AUS, and don't have to ship them all direct from HK…

  • Received the ipad this morning.
    Awesome shipping times from Hongkong.

Came with a power adaptor as plug is for HK.

    Ipad carries international warranty right?

    • As per description above, the answer is yes.
      Terms and Conditions

      • I don't think he's lying. I received mine in the morning so he may well have received it on Friday. It was posted via DHL Express. Two thumbs up for the seller very impressed.

  • -2
