  • Thanks. Is there a way to know if an item is eligible if you don't currently have eBay plus?

    • +1

"Eligible Items" means items listed on eBay.com.au where a link to these terms and conditions and the coupon redemption code PLUSFLASH3 is found in the item listing.

Chances are, you won't be able to know until the code goes live.

      • -1

noted thanks, and once it goes live do you still need eBay plus to tell or can you tell if you don't have the subscription?

  • +5

Mindless upvoting on a "deal" where we don't even know what the items are.

    • -5

Do we need Elon to come in a remove all the mindless "bots" ? $8 blue ticks anyone?

      There’s a saying:
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. 😉

    • +6

I would have thought these psuedo deals were more worthy of downvotes by now.

Bring back the days of site wide discounts.

      • +1

Some deals are better than no deals - but hell yeah, please give us some sitewide 10 - 20% discounts!!!!

    • +3

Well getting the deal out there will help others know it's on tomorrow - it's actually useful.

I'll check tomorrow if the items I want are eligible or not - thanks to this post!

      • -2

I don't get this logic. Other shops post the same thing and everyone's like bUt WhErE iS thE DeAL? and it's negged to oblivion.

Until you can prove an item is 'eligible' and is cheaper, then why post this? It's a false post.

        • +3

Logic is simple in my case.

Today I was going to buy a few items on ebay.

I saw this post that indicates some of those items may be 10% off tomorrow (maybe not)..

I'll hold off until tomorrow to check - no great loss if they're not 10% off tomorrow, but 10% better if they are.

          Logic holds no?

@neo: Sure, but I wasn't discussing posting guidelines, I was saying the post is still useful - ie, I see value in seeing it.

Even if I was discussing the posting guidelines - those posting guidelines you linked are for eBay items, I'm not sure it applies here.

              • -4

@iDroid: I understand your viewpoint, but we are discussing posting guidelines. Is a deal to be posted because we see value in it (we can check tomorrow and MAYBE there's something there) or it's posted because it's a deal? These are eBay items we are talking about, it's no different.

We will continue to see these filler "deals", particularly eBay, because they know that it will get posted and until this is dealt with, you'll never see any decent deals like site wides as often.

I don't mean to be a PITA, just sick of seeing a MAYBE deal.

                • @neo: Looks like you have been on OB for a while. You should have seen this 10% flash codes a few times and know how they work. You would be aware by now the difference between sellers funded codes (where price Jacking occur on the day) and fully eBay funded codes.
Previously some people commented “I have just spend $XXXX yesterday…” so I though it may be helpful to give people a head up.

Especially when eBay refreshes a new "eligible items" "deal" literally every single day.

I really wish eBay would bring back $0 fee final value selling.

  • +1

is it for ebay plus items or any item if you got ebay plus?

    • +1

For ebay plus items that show the "coupon redemption code PLUSFLASH3 is found in the item listing"

      • thanks… I got ebay plus but stuff I want to get is not ebay plus item

        • +2

Should apply to eligible sellers for non eBay Plus items as well. Hence the flash codes work on eligible private sellers too.

    • 20% off would be better.

      • +1

30% would be better than 20%
