Same for me, although I referred a friend yesterday for the $20 so we got a free ride to and from the pub we went to.
Placie is terrible, use it when you are not in a hurry
Placie is not the rideshare though .. they only compile available services like a search engine, eg. flights fares
100%. They also take no responsibility for what happens inside the other apps - their customer service told me as much. I had multiple delays and cancellations inside DiDi when booked to go to the airport through Placie. I was going to miss my flight so cancelled and had to pay DiDi's cancellation fee. When I went to compare booking inside the DiDi app itself, it was a) cheaper and b) a ride was available almost instantly. Placie is a useless app, honestly.
It use to work really well. It was quick and got the cheapest rides with plenty of discounts. But recently I agree, service has gone downhill. The app shows plenty of drivers, but you end up waiting ages and ages. When a driver does accept the booking, they will drive further away to get the booking cancelled.
I can't pin 100% the blame on Placie, more likely the other ridesharing services are not happy with Placie getting a cut. I did get alot of free rides out of Placie over the years.

The referral program gives $20 to both the referrer and referee. Too bad you have to PM for it.
