Horror-meister John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape from New York) teams Kurt Russell’s outstanding performance with incredible visuals to build this chilling version of the classic The Thing. In the winter of 1982, a twelve-man research team at a remote Antarctic research station discovers an alien buried in the snow for over 100,000 years. Once unfrozen, the form-changing alien wreaks havoc, creates terror and becomes one of them.

The Thing & Alien are probably the best horror movies ever made. That sinister Ennio Morricone score slowly seeps into your core as the suspense and the not knowing builds and builds……… A true masterpiece!

      • I can’t remember The Thing but fully agree on Alien. Atmospheric and creepy stuff.

I liked The Entity as well.

On 4K versions of old movies: I recently had doubts and commented on here about them. Anyway I bought The Predator box set 4K bluray and it’s (the original movie) really good! I think the HDR really helps, I noticed that the colours were really lifelike and bright. But the resolution is quite sharp too.

Watching this in 4K made me start collecting them. Looked wonderful.

  • Kicks online eBay cancelled my morning order, thank God for Amazon algorithms matching most of them now.

    • Yeah, they seem to have a history with randomly cancelling some orders. I ordered 6 4Ks from them last night and they all shipped today.

This movie was the very first video my dad ever rented when he borrowed a VCR from work some time when I was very young back in the 1980s. How could I not buy it in 4K at this price?! Thanks :-)

I was staying at my aunts place for the first time ever as an 8 year old. My aunt (a teacher) thought this would be fine for me to watch …in a strange house and at night with no lights on. I had never been afraid of anything before that night…

    • That's both hilarious and awful. I was similarly scarred (and scared) and it became one of my favourites.

    • I was looking this up on Rotten Tomatoes, saw an article about the most scary horror movie scenes. Good list. Thought some of you might enjoy.

    • haha, my sh#tty parents did everything in their power to scare the crap out of me when I was 9yrs and just watched this movie

  • Sold out. Said no longer available from the seller. Can not place it in the cart.

  • Still one of the scariest nightmare inducing movies ever made
