Wish Poco X3 pro was still available..

For $20 more you can get an oppo with 8gb RAM 128gb storage at Officeworks

    https://gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=11738&idPhone2=11…

    Better specs all around

Don't see the oppo in question at Officeworks. Can you share the link please.

I had it briefly then it disappeared. Was a very low stock item, unavailable online. $347.

It's in JB Hfi @$399 though - perhaps get the '$30 off $300 spend' voucher. $399 doesn't appear to be a discounted or reduced price, so possible the rrp.

If it's the A96 you may be able to get it for $327.75 as a pricebeat at Officeworks.

        • Price beating who?

          • @sam buster: starry black version at digidirect? (Free shipping)

            • @Tiggrrrrr: Ahh, I see, @$345. Thanks. They say original price was $395 despite being $4 cheaper than JB Hifi
              XD
I'm on the lookout for a replacement to my smashed Moto G 5G - specwise the Oppo isn't as good despite being $50 more than I paid for the Moto. I'd miss Moto gestures too, especially the torch chop.
              Haven't looked at Oppos before.

              • @sam buster: I'm not a fan of Oppo myself, but YMMV.
Planning on going back to Moto or Galaxy.

              • @sam buster: try to negotiate the price at goodguy see if they can make motorola g82 about $360. current price $399 so 10%off should be possible still. not the lowest but still good for g82 but much better choice than the oneplus nord phone here.

Yeah the A96. It was $318 last week

Agree with the OPPO A96 being the better choice (SD 680 4nm vs Helio G25 12nm.
A mini review of the A96 for anyone interested.
      Pro
      * Long battery (two days easy with moderate usage) as a result of lower spec SD 680 and 5000mah + scheduled auto on/off.
      * Screen is decent, you wont notice more refresh rates beyond 90Hz or significantly better colour reproduction on high-end phones.
      * The Camera at 50mp is comparable to most mid-tier phones, haven't had time to tinker with gcam.
      * Has SD slot and 3.5mm jack, comes with 33W charger and compatible cable!
      Cons
      * Comes with the caveat of cheaper phones experience,
      * Snappy enough for most apps SD680 (7nm), but not quick enough to compete with SD 7/8 series when running games. Opening service NSW APP takes twice as long compared to a S22.
      * Much more bulkier than what you would expect, larger than a S22+.
      * Has the appearance of a flashy(sunset blue) flagship phone, but feels cheaper built quality in hand.
      * OPPO has dropped their game in major Android OS update timeframe. Or maybe its just this model (had for 2 month)
Conclusion: This is the best OPPO phone in terms of value at sub $300. All other Oppo phones at similar price has poorer MediaTeK SOC or HD screens. If you have to have SD slot and 3.5mm jack, this is the best option AFAIK at this price. Otherwise, just go straight Galaxy A73 or Pixel 6A.

I feel like value in general has dropped. I've been looking for new phone for mum and figured it'd be easy since I got my Poco X3 GT which has pretty killer specs for its price of $360ish last year. Now it looks like phones with comparable specs are going for $450+

That's the same boat I'm in with the Moto G 5G Plus I picked up for just over $300.
It's a 7 series chipset, has HDR screen, 4k video recording, 6 GB RAM etc etc - on paper it's better than the G82 which is still more expensive.

Of course, it has flaws: I smashed the screen easily (no Gorilla Glass) and the display isn't particularly bright, but I would have expected a two-year newer model to have better specs all round.

What has happened to all the Pocos and Redmis?

      • I was disappointed to see the android 13 update which has rolled out in other countries hasn't arrived here yet. No notification LED is a bit crap too but idk maybe that's been a thing for a while - I just upgraded from a 6 year old phone lol

  • Not a deal

  • What, not even NFC at even that sort of price point? No thanks.
