40% off Weights, Celsius BK1 Stationary Bike $299 ($100 off) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Rebels Sport

200

Just looking for some opinions to see and understand if both these deals are actually good bargains or just standard price.

First of we have the Celsius BK1 Exercise Bike down to $299 from $399:
https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/celsius-bk1-exercise-bike-59…

And then we have this set of dumbbells:
https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/celsius-20kg-rubber-hex-dumb…
(Also other KG's discounted as well)

I can't really find reviews on the bike to know if it's good, good price, competition… And not sure what's the usual price for dumbbells or if is it per kg.
Thanks community!

  • Dumbbell is actually a decent price

It's 40% off though, so is only 12kg

You should consider purchasing a second hand magnetic or spin bike on facebook market place or gumtree for around $50-$100. There are ones in as new condition used only a handful of times

  • Rebel sports also offer discounts to RAC WA members as well Im pretty sure

    • You are not. I can’t find any

    • More useful than OPs, but shopping for a single 20kg dumbbell means OP is either strong or delusional.
      .

      • Can get it delivered?

    • Say no to vinyl dumbbells!

so giant and awkward to use. and will probably crack at some point I'd venture

  • The dunmbells are good price, there has been nothing cheap for the last few years due to civid tax I have the hex dumbells ranging from 5-25kg in 2.5kg increments from rebel. For home gym they are good.

  • Is Celsius Rebel Sports Home Brand?

    • +2

No, it's the temperature measurement for the metric system

      • Are you by any chance Anders Celsius? Blast from the past?

        • I preferred to be called Professor Anders Celsius please :-)

          • @Ozb101: Prof Anders Clesius, What are you doing selling fitness equipment at Rebel Sports? :-)

Is Celsius Rebel Sports Home Brand?

      Yes it is.

I used to work for Rebel, their old packaging was horrible

The visual branding/packaging underwent a design change just before I left

Not sure about the bike, though as most homebrands do, it's probably a rebadged product from China (but you get warranty from Rebel I suppose)

      • @cwongtech:Thanks for the reply. I think even the branded bike are manufactured in China, probably the homebrand comes out of the same factory as the branded one isn't it? At the end of the day, I think 98% of all electronics items we own are manufactured there anyways :-)

. I think even the branded bike are manufactured in China, probably the homebrand comes out of the same factory as the branded one isn't it?

Yeah, however with branded ones you're likely to have a more stringent quality control process because a brand name depends on it

At the end of the day, I think 98% of all electronics items we own are manufactured there anyways :-)

Yep, no avoiding it, nothing against Made in China stuff, but if it is indeed from the same factory.. maybe check on AliExpress to see if the same product is there first, you may save more money that way

My priority is always saving money without sacrificing quality

Then consider the price difference and how much Rebel/Celsius warranty is worth it to you

For example, weights - there really is no technical aspect of it that is hard to copy or clone
The only thing is the ergonomics, coating (whether it's safe, durable) and whether they're.. functional

For a bike (if you're interested in that), the quality of the workmanship will be very obvious (check the weld joins) as that directly impacts the structure of the bike and whether structural failure is likely to occur. Since for a bike you'll be sitting on it, might want to either pay more, gambling on the reputation of a bigger brand (not to say that all branded items mean quality) or spend some time to try find a display so you can check it as a sample.

Went to get the 20kg dumbell set. Carried it to my car down 3 floors to the car park. Enough workout for the day.

  • Low quality bike. Used it infrequently and started to make a clacking noise after 12 months (after the warranty period). Avoid.
