Samsung Galaxy S22+: $450 off RRP, Extra $250 off with Trade-in, Free Delivery (e.g. 256GB $949 Less Trade-in Value) @ Samsung

90

It's time for the annual Samsung Galaxy discounts prior to the S23 being released in Feb. If you are happy with the S22, then you can get $450 off RRP, plus another $250 off if you tradein, and the trade in value. Example Samsung S22+ 256GB $1649 (inflated RRP) - $450 - $250 - tradein value (e.g $130 for S20FE5G) = $819.

Probably stacks with the newletter discount $50 off, and I've tried to use the Nine Coupons $50 GoodGuys voucher on $750 Samsung spend - https://coupons.nine.com.au/samsung#voucher-au_22697741 if you register for the voucher first you get an email with tracking link to purchase from, unsure yet if that will work.

From the T&C's

Receive $450 off the GalaxyS22+, starts 12:00am (AEDT) 12 January 2023 and ends 11:59pm (AEDT) 25January 2023 unless withdrawn earlier. Not available in conjunction with any other offer unless otherwise advised. Subject to stock availability at time of purchase. Discounts are not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. Offer subject to Samsung Terms & Conditions of Sale. Bonus Credit Offer: You are entering into these Bonus Credit Offer terms and conditions with Samsung Electronics Australia Pty Ltd (‘Samsung’). Bonus credit is in addition to any trade-up credit.

Too much for mid Jan 2022

IMO, would wait after the S23 release. $819 for S22 plus is meh, with all the hoops to jump through. Needs to be <$700 to sell on Ozb.
$130 trade in for S20FE is too little, even with the bonus considered.
Can anyone comment the laterest update on what if the trade in phone is not sent?

    • I salary sacrifice and need to submit prior to end of Feb, and based on previous couple of years bargains for newyear/oldyear phones aren't always around in Feb, so works for me.

Asurion have charged my CC the tradein value, which presume will be reversed once they receive the device. With the bonus $250 the trade in is decent ($380 total), officeworks offered $220 and couldn't be bothered with the others after bad experiences.

Thanks for your thought, good to know they charge you first followed by reverse pay.
Does this mean the end of getting bonus trade in without sending in the device?

      • Are they going to charge you when you dont send the device?

My phone was valued at $45 but works fine. I dont mind getting charged extra $60 late fee as well.

I had quick chat with samsung care they are going to charge me $450 trade up that i got for s22 ultra

        Any suggestions please

        • I got charged the tradein value during purchase of the phone, e.g I was billed $819 and $130. If you don't send the phone, I presume they don't reverse the $130 charge.

Is there anyway to get the trade bonus without physically trading a phone? What happens when you don't send it in?

    • +1

If you have a $1 or $0 value trade, I guess it doesn't matter if you don't send.

    • I did a trade in for the S22 when everyone was using the vouchers so about a year and a half ago. I traded in an Iphone 7 which was valued at $25. I never sent it in. I was charged a few months later the $25 discount they gave me for the trade in value.

I'm failing to see the Oz bargain here.

I think the s22 has been cheaper and or higher trade in bonus. Think s22+ is good price especially if you have newsletter code and a loyalty one.
But i still think worth waiting until s23 if you can

    • +1

Cheapest I can recall the S22+ 128GB was $499 after trade in with JB, who had the phone around the $1249 mark less a whole lot of discounts ($250 for my S20+ 5G and $500 bonus).

  • +6

Dont trust asurion… they revalued my phone when i sent it in to $5 saying one pixel was out on the screen, when it was in perfect condition. This is a regular complaint with them. You have been warned.

  • The pre-order price is usually good I thought, so I'll wait.

On some years you could argue that the difference is minor enough that you might as well get the current-gen at discounted prices… but this is not one of those years.

The difference between the Snapdragon 8G1 in the S22 and 8G2 in the S23 is night and day. Expect about half the battery life and double the operating temperature even for light tasks like email or browsing reddit on 8G1 phones.

    • Thanks all for the comments. After sleeping on it i hit the cancel order button, as there will probably be a better offer around the corner.

I would say HODL till S23 released. Chances are frequent.

Thanks op. $798 after the $250 bonus trade in using an old phone with a cracked screen, $100 loyalty and $50 newsletter codes. Cant see it going any lower.
