For anyone unaware, Officeworks gift cards are issued by Coles Group, which means:

    • You will not earn any standard Flybuys points when purchasing Officeworks gift cards at Coles. The only type of points you will earn through this deal are the 2,000 bonus points advertised in the catalogue.

    • You cannot use any gift cards issued by Coles Group (e.g. Coles gift card, Coles Group & Myer gift card) to purchase an Officeworks gift card at Coles. If you swipe or scan any gift card issued by Coles Group when attempting payment, you will get an Invalid Product Mix error on the EFTPOS terminal, and staff will not be able to bypass this restriction for you.

    • Whoa… Nice info..

It is much better to get the Celebration one this week.

      • Thank you for letting us know.
If I buy two Ultimate and two Celebration gift card of $50 each, will I get 8000 bonus points ?

  • Ultimate ones are also usable in OW….

    • I think Ultimate Everyone do have Officework on list?

  • Can I stack the gift cards when redeeming an item that has been price matched at OW? I’m assuming yes

Last time I tried this they weren't happy

      • Bummer :(

      • luck of the draw… you have some staff that don't care and some that brushes you off

If you pricematch calling the OW phone number on their website you are required to pay by credit card at online checkout. I tried the phone number first recently & I mentioned I'd be paying online by OW gift cards (after the price match had been approved). I was told credit card payment is the only accepted method if price matching via their phone support. I would have to price match in store to be able to pay using OW gift cards. I could not even price match & order via phone support, then collect in store & pay with OW gift cards.

In store I price matched the same product, and the salesperson was happy to let me to pay using several $100 OW cards. Not sure how you would go if making a big puchase though. YMMV if you are buying an expensive product.

      • Thanks for your experience! I’m after a $500-ish product, so it’s good to know. Glad to hear they let you use multiple in store

        • Unfortunately you can only get one GC under this deal

    • I managed to use 3 Ultimate gift cards to pay for a price matched Surface laptop pre Xmas. The guy was very glad by the time I left.

Hey @6079 Smith would you mind opening your DMs please?

        • +1

          I can do that

  • R we talking about 10 $ benefit!!! or did İ miss something.?!

    • It would help if you were paying attention. The deal is to pay cash in Turkish Lira, hope they don’t notice, and save over 90%! Of course, you save even more if you use the Officeworks $100 gift card from Coles, and collect 2000 Flybuys points. And remember, these are no ordinary Flybuys points — these are bonus Flybuys points, to make the deal even sweeter!

    • Think of it as 10% off.
You want an ipad…..$700 or so.
Buy these…go to officeworks…get them to price match your best price and get 10% returned in shopping at coles!
An ipad at the price you would have paid anyway and $70 worth of lollies!

      • Limited to one $100 only this time. A bit disappointing. Don't jump in and buy $700 worth of them. (Unless you have multiple flybuys sitting around of course)

        • that is so boring of them!

Can I use this to buy other gift cards in OW?
    How about ultimate kids?

They won't let you use theis to buy any other gift cards. Last time I was in the store they had signs at all the Registers saying gift cards cannot be used to buy gift cards.

    • You are not allowed to use Officeworks gift cards to purchase any gift cards at Officeworks. It is against the Terms of Use of any gift card issued by Coles Group for it to be used as a payment method for any gift cards, and this statement should be printed on the back of the physical gift card too.

I have also noticed signs recently going up at some Officeworks checkouts telling customers that Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase Gift Cards. The information on the signs is nothing new, so I suspect Officeworks head office recently pushed staff to really crack down on people attempting to do this.

If staff notice you trying to use a gift card as a payment method for a gift card (e.g. because you tell them you want to use a gift card as a payment method, or they see you holding a gift card in your hand as you are about to swipe it), they will likely stop the transaction, but it really depends on whether the staff member cares enough to actually stop the transaction. This happened to me a couple of times late last year at Officeworks when I failed at being trying to be stealthy…

Having said all of that, I do not know if the Officeworks checkout system will automatically stop you from doing this if you manage to get to the stage where you can swipe (or scan) the gift card, because I have never actually used an Officeworks gift card! I have only used Coles Group & Myer gift cards (or Ultimate/Celebration gift cards) at Officeworks.

      • If it automatically stops you, as soon as you swipe or scan an Officeworks gift card, you would see an Invalid Product Mix error on the EFTPOS terminal.

      • If it does not automatically stop you, you will get away with it… except for the fact that the staff member would then see on their terminal that you just redeemed a Gift Card (as opposed to Visa or Mastercard), and that may get you in trouble with staff, because a staff member could simply refuse to hand over the gift card to you and then call over a manager to sort the situation out.

For those looking to buy gift cards at Officeworks or spend more than $100, you still have until tomorrow midnight to buy up to five $100 Celebration gift cards at Coles which give you 2,100 points per card.

I’ve been using them to buy third party gift cards at Officeworks this week without issue.

    • Ah good tip, thanks! Does Officeworks stock Coles Myer GC?

      • I’ve just been buying the ones they have listed online and doing click and collect. I don’t know if they stock a wider selection in store.

        • I have purchased Ultimate cards in store before which doesn't look like they include online so chances are there's wider selection in store!

@WookieMonster do you recall seeing Coles Myer GC in Officeworks?

          • +1

@Craze: Yes, they do have them in-store.

          • @Craze: FYI Ultimate gift cards were removed from sale from Officeworks’ sometime during 2022, at least a couple of months before Officeworks started participating in the Ultimate gift card scheme.

Ultimate gift cards were removed from nearly all Officeworks stores I have visited in recent times, although I noticed a month ago that one Officeworks store still had Ultimate Eats, Beauty & Spa and Ultimate Thanks gift cards on the shelf. I had no idea whether it was still possible to purchase those gift cards though, and I suspect those gift cards were removed from the checkout system, so it would be impossible to actually purchase them…

            • @WookieMonster: Interesting, didn't know Ultimate GCs are not available in Officeworks stores now!

PS: I decided to test it out and can confirm I was able to purchase Coles Myer GC with the Celebration GC in store 😁

              • @Craze: How many Officeworks stores sell Coles Myer cards? I've checked three in Sydney and had no luck. May I ask where you bought from or any tips for finding them?

                • @aaron3: Sorry to hear you couldn't find any- guessing you're looked in Sydney CBD?

I don't know how many OW stores sell the cards, the store I went to was in Vermont South and they even stocked a few different designs. Maybe try a larger store if you're able to?

    • the $50 restaurant gift cards would be the best… 20% off in points

  • Is Clear and JV same person?

  • Has anyone been able to use these gift cards to purchase Apple gift cards at office works?

Are they black hawk or some other system?
