It's still there in Dresden but it's just no longer owned by AMD, they spun off their silicon fabrication
Seems like a better choice than the 5800X deals. Not sure if I'm going to go with AM4 this late or if I'll just hold out for more affordable motherboards of current gen stuff.
Got my 5700x for $370 a month after release.. its a B2 revision chip that runs at 54w maxed out… no AM5 chip will get close to that powet usage. Even my 5600 that i got at the same time runs at 57w but that chip is an A0 stepping..
I'm not sure the difference is significant enough to influence my purchasing decision
Might want to take a look at how the Ryzen 7600 and 7700 perform at that level. I get that it's not maximised there, but 6 and 8 core Ryzen have done well at 65W for a while.
Can't you up the power limit either way through bios settings?
I think there is a reasonable chance of finding local stock for not much more possibly with earlier delivery. My last camelx3 alert was on the 9th for $299.
Yeah I would pay the $30 extra to pick one up today, rather than wait a grueling 1.5 months!
Tbh I've always found these types of estimates from amazon to be on the extreme end, if it says 2 months I'd get it delivered in 3-4 weeks.
Seems I got lucky, picked this up yesterday for $277.02 via Amazon Germany.
It drops to $275.56 at the moment.
I remember years ago buying an Athlon64 that was " diffused in Germany". I think back then they actually had a silicon fabrication plant in Germany.
