    These metal based fans are terrible. They rust pretty easily, and also its harder to clean off the dust from it. Stick to a plastic based one.

    After using a DC fan, I'll never go back to a basic AC fan again. DC fans are so much quieter, so many more speed options too.

    I love how on the lowest speeds it just moves a little air and is barely audible. Great when I just want a slight breeze whilst sleeping and not wake up freezing or feel like I'm sleeping in a cyclone.

        Yep. DC fans generally come with a plug pack transformer, but yes, no different.

        DC fans have a transformer to convert it to DC. It’s then a very different kind of motor, more torque, more control, less noise but more cost.

      Most likely ac. Be aware as dimplex model naming almost always starts with DC (probs stands for dimplex something) and should not be confused with it having dc motors.

    received the fan … big letdown … even on lowest setting this thing is like a jet … yes it pushes lot of air but its very noisy … cant sleep with that on so bit disappointed with that … otherwise for $29 delivered it was a bargain, solid build quality … but yeah, too loud.
