    WOW… the website is stuttttteerrrrinng !! Takes a stack of page refreshes to get to the Ordering pages.

    (oh… ordering online as my local JB had a CD that was dearer than online and the city stores. JB you've done it again!!)

  • Blu-ray section of the website is stuffed, had to try 3 times before was able to place order successfully.

  • Im not sure how much to trust the sale. The Go-Pros are still listed as their rrp of ~$396

  • The website is being hammered, no idea why since all of the prices were lowered this morning.

      Skule's owt, datz y! :p

      Gee…. Can't JB afford a decent server ? What's it got - 1 GB Ram on it ? TERRIBLE.

      and THIS is why consumers are going offshore for purchases.

      Ended up placing an order via Paypal - as there was no way I could trust JB's side - having refreshed the screen so many times.

        from thier facebook page

        Guys thanks for your patience. Massive meltdown due to historically high demand, well above expectations. It looks things are improving with response time but still a bit slow. We will keep offers open until midnight AEST. Note as site offer banners outline: "prices shown are inclusive of discount". If you have any issues with not getting what you needed select "online pricing checkout issue" from the "contact us" section of the JB website. That way if you register the problem before midnight we will honor any offers for products you expected to buy.

          Bonus points to JB for doing something decent. It may not be perfect but better than zero.

          I'd say get the items together and just lodge an issue. may be faster.

  • Yep….completely useless. Site is running extremely slow….as typing that I get 'The Service Is Unavailable' errors…..

  • Now Java Run Time errors….

    Server Error in '/' Application.

    Runtime Error

    Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

    Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

    <!— Web.Config Configuration File —>

    <configuration>
    <system.web>
    <customErrors mode="Off"/>
    </system.web>
    </configuration>

    Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

    <!— Web.Config Configuration File —>

    <configuration>
    <system.web>
    <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
    </system.web>
    </configuration>

    • Just have to keep at it. I managed to get items in the cart and through the checkout with enough persistence.

  • It took forever to place my order and I'm not convinced it hasn't charged me more than once, but I'll check tomorrow morning.

    That being said, it was the same price as an Ebay version shipped from HK…so I'm happy.

    Edit: Got plenty of the Runtime Errors and the Service Not Available messages before it worked!

  • Last time I ordered from the 20% sale it took 3 weeks for blurays to get delivered and I cancelled one order and bought overseas instead.

  • Holy bloody guano, batman!

    I finally managed to place an order. All items confirmed to be discounted from long established pre-sale prices by the amount advertised.

    Joy.

  • If the online sale ends at 9, I will be devo. Can hardly get on.

    I've given up, i managed to get a few things in my cart but now the checkout wont load.

    one does not simply..

    buy from jb hifi online during a sale.

    • I did!

      Keep at it. Be patient. It took me ages (I made dinner whilst ordering) but I got there in the end.

      • Got my order in. However I failed to use my giftcard in the process. What a fail of a purchase.

  • Haggled the Nikon D3100 down to $408! Persistence is key ;)

  • So wait, the Yamaha AV Receivers already had their prices 'reduced' in the morning? So the prices on the website now are the sale price?

    • Protip: Find the jb hifi product page, copy url into google, visit cache of that jb hifi page, and check the price.

      But yes apparently all discounts have already been applied. Atleast in the bluray/dvd section this is true.

      Disclaimer: check date of cache page for age of capture

  • I noticed that the sale online started this morning.

  • Since this morning I noticed the price for the laptop was reduced.
    But I can't buy this laptop:
    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers/hp/folio-13-inch-ultraboo…

    The buy button has been missing the whole day.
    Does this usually mean it is sold out?
    It was not sold out yesterday when it was the normal price.

      Here you go:

      http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/computers-laptops/ultrabooks/…

      What you had was their general website, not their online store.

      • Got one of these on friday for $586 they had it listed at $630ish in store.

        • Thanks "the discombobulated panda"!

          How/Where did you get it for $586??

        • Jb at Knox victoris price was with a mouse I paid the sticker price for $28 but even pc shops didn't have it much cheaper. Total was $612 so the lappy was $584

          Just go in, point and give them $600 I'm sure they would take it

  • The website was a total FAIL
    Went to local JB and they wanted $7 more for the ARTIST than the website
    Criminals

    • That's what I found with the Sennhauser headphones as well. Even after factoring in the 30% off they were more expensive.

  • I Went to JB at Chadstone tonight, Olympus OM-D is considered as a hybrid, thus neither a DSLR nor a Camera(if I read JB's poster correctly). The guy there was nice enough to also check E-P3 for me, 15% doesn't apply for it either.

  • Game of thrones is 53$. Are they kidding? That's not 20 % off.
    Harry Potter box set was $99 a week ago now selling for 115$ with NO discount.

    Jb you are a disgrace. Will never shop their again.

  • Perfect example last night of why people are being pushed to buy overseas. For a short space of a few hours, there is a discount available which when applied brings prices for some items close to overseas online retailers and then guess what, the website goes down! I had heaps of issues and had no time to keep on refreshing the page. Terrible.

  • Last night you had been JB'ed! Jb have done it again!! :)

    **Should be new slogan!

  • I think they cancelled part of my online order. o_O

    My confirmation email shows both things I ordered but they only took the money for one of them.

    EDIT: They've split my order into 2 but didn't take the money for the 2nd item. >.<

  • I went into the Melbourne Bourke St store around 7:30pm, and there was hardly anyone there. I guess you guys were all hammering the website? I picked up some nice deals, but nothing too Earth-shattering compared to online retailers with shipping. I got to take the stuff home with me right away, though.

    One thing I got was a pair of Sennheiser PX-100 II headphones for $68. Looking around, I only see a few online shops beating that, and that's only before I add in shipping. So a pretty good purchase there, I think.

  • Wow people had a lot of issues with those servers, glad that I managed to put my orders in Mid morning. Got notification this morning the first of 6 items has already shipped :)

  • Ordered 5 items am 25th received the 2 of them today the 30th that's pretty quick hopefully the rest won't be far behind

    • My items have been shipped. Hoping for the next couple of days. :) Tomorrow pref. :)
