  • OO651XB is a great oven, picked up a OO651XR last week for $550 delivered. $429 + shipping is a decent price.

  • is OMEGA a good brand? like SMEG?

    • OMEGA is SMEGs cheaper brand, not the same quality as SMEG but still good value. Check out reviews for any model you intend to buy, some are good, some are just OK.

  • How long does it take to deliver the Omega OM300XA to 2176 rep?

    • It will leave with australia post tomorrow morning if you get the order in within the next ~10 minutes and let me know as soon as you've done it (otherwise it will leave friday morning). I can get it to you same day if its urgent (add $12 on top of the normal $9 delivery fee to get the OM300XA to 2176).

      • Do you realise that tomorrow morning and Friday morning are the same thing? :-)

I'm not usually one who goes out of my way to do this, but I have had such a bad experience with 2ndsWorld that I feel compelled to speak up here to prospective buyers about my customer service experiences.

Anyhow deep breath, take it or leave it, and here we go.

Seconds World Cremorne should nominate themselves as a university case study for how NOT to run a business. Absolutely awful, awful service - up there as the worst I have experienced in living memory. It's not the type of store where service is front of mind, but wowsers this was something else.

And I was just like you, prospecting ozbargainer, I was just like you.

"Oh wow! That's a cheap blender!" I thought, in retrospect naively.
"We have none in stock," says the sales guy, "but we can get you one from Caringba in 2-3 days." It all started off so well, but where did it go oh-so wrong?

Well let's begin… After the 3-4 day wait was up, I thought it might be worthwhile making a call. And here is where the wheels started to fall off. Think store phone numbers that ring out or, better yet, don't even connect. Think rude staff who tell you (lord forbid you happen to get through to someone) "no your product isn't in yet." Doesn't matter if they told you they'd get it from their Caringbah store in 3-4 days and it's now gone past 14+ days of CONSTANT. CALLING. Oh no siree, raise that with them and their helpful response is "Yeah well we're waiting on heaps of stuff at the moment." I'm not asking for you to deliver me the Ark of the Covenant here - it's a blender and a food processor. And to make matters worse, your Caringbah 2ndsworld store is less than one hour away from Cremorne. How can it possibly take so long?

How can it possibly take so long? Well I can answer that quite easily in hindsight, because they tell you they have the product, when in fact they don't. Well technically they have -parts- of the product, they've just lost a few things… You know, kinda important things like the blender jug or the processor unit. But when they eventually figure that out, their ever-helpful staff who were so quick to close a deal are much slower in breaking the bad news to you.

Guys, it's cheap and it's ozbargain. I totally get the allure. But just… Just beware.

    • Hi fred09, I'm very sorry to hear you had such a bad experience at our Cremorne store.

We generally get a lot of good feedback but constructive feedback like yours definitely helps us improve specific stores/departments/staff.

Can I ask how long ago this was? We definitely don't advertise products that aren't in stock but every now and then we get the random product that a store can't find in their warehouse even though the computer might tell us that they should have one (you will find this can happen in any other store too, it's one of the problems when dealing with big warehouses). I think in your case they probably tried finding it for too long.

I would also like to check which phone number didn't connect for you. We definitely don't have any dead phone numbers listed anywhere so I would like to get to the bottom of this as I can imagine how frustrated you would have been.

One thing I would like to make clear is that we would never list or advertise products or sales without sufficient stock levels anywhere (including ozbargain).

I appreciate your feedback and will definitely pass this on to the store managers of Cremorne and Caringbah.

This is not true, you do advertise products without sufficient stock.
As you are aware i recently purchased a tv online and the next day this model was still on the website. Two days after i purchased it i get a call saying there wasn't sufficient stock.

Here is your email explaining what happened -

        2ndsWorld on Thu, 26/07/2012 - 13:20
        Thanks Luke.
I'm really sorry to hear you had a bad experience with us.
It appears that we had an incorrect stock count from one of the stores on the TV you ordered.
Unfortunately we didn't have anything similar in stock which is what we would normally offer.
We certainly take all possible care to avoid issues like this but every now and then someone counts the wrong product in the warehouses/stores which causes these problems.
Again, my apologies. Would you like me to let you know should we get any more Factory 2nd 32" Samsung TVs?

        • -1

Hi Luke, these things only happen by mistake as explained above. We take all possible care to avoid these issues.
I've just send you a PM re the Samsung TV you were interested in, please let me know asap if you are interested.

    • I also don't go out of my way to neg a company but I ordered the Omega sink that was recently advertised on here. Next day I got a call asking if I would like the extended warranty with that. (I declined thinking not much to go wrong with a sink) and she said it would be shipped the next day. 2 weeks later the sink arrives. Just as well I wasn't in a hurry as the postage reality doesn't meet the promises.

      • Hi Bigmaxy, we had a technical problem with the extended warranties with these Omega sinks which is why we had to check a couple of orders with a quick phone call to ensure everyone who ordered the extended warranty also got the extended warranty and vice versa.

We definitely don't call our customer to sell them extended warranties after they have placed their orders :-)

Feel free to PM me your order number and I will have a look to see why it took 2 weeks to get to you (i.e. which courier delivered your item).
