POWERevolution on 02/08/2012 - 18:12 ¶Only 1 trouser?
My old jacket is size R40 but can't find any of that size…the 2 on sales min size is 92
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 18:43 ¶Hi POWERevolution,
Yes, this suit comes with 1 pair of trousers.
An R40 is equivalent to a 102 Reg. These VH suits come in a 100 Reg or 104 Reg.
Have a look at the below link to show where and how to measure yourself.
http://www.themensshop.com.au/fit-guide/
Cheers!
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 18:46 ¶Hi Corrad,
The sleeve length in a 96 reg and a 96 short are the same length. The 'short' refers to the length of the trouser leg.
Cheers!
+2 votesHi TMS,
Took your advice on the "short" referring to trouser length only with the Pierre Cardin suits but this is not the case. As these (and the Pierre Cardin's) are sold as a set, the jacket sleeves are also shorter (or longer), not just the trouser leg.
I can confirm this as I have compared both REG and ST side by side, at least with the Pierre Cardin's. I cannot see this being any different for the Van Heusen.
By the way - love your site and service. I actually have both the Pierre Cardin and the Van Heusen, both excellent suits at great prices.
NOTE: My experience was with the 2 trouser set. This may differ as this is a single trouser set, but the advice given by TMS in Pierre Cardin thread regarding this was wrong (sorry to be picky!).
+1 voteTheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:09 ¶Hi Cyssero,
Thank you for your feedback.
This intrigues me, as I’ve always had the understanding that the length was just in regards to the trouser.
Our warehouse is close tonight, but I will make sure to take the measurements of both the short & reg jackets first thing tomorrow and get back to you.
Cheers!

Hi TMS,
No rush as I've already bought, but for the benefit of others it may be worthwhile to check. I can say with certainty this is the case with the Pierre Cardin's, should be the same for Van Heusen. One big giveaway is the tag inside the jacket actually days 96ST, not just the trousers saying 88ST.
+1 voteTheMensShop on 03/08/2012 - 09:43 ¶Hi Cyssero & Rebenga,
We’ve measured both the short & regular jackets, and Cyssero is 100% correct.
There is a 2cm difference in the length of sleeve and in the back centre seam. Apologies for the misleading information.
Thank you Cyssero for spotting this and bringing it to my attention. If you could send customer service an email with your order number, I’ll make sure they send you something to say “Thanks!”
customer.service@themensshop.com.au
Cheers.

So just to clarify - the only difference between the ST & REG is the length of the pants (i.e. No difference in jacket at all)? Confirmation would be great as I would love to pull the trigger on one (or maybe even both) of these suits.
On a side note, I have bought from TMS before and have to say I was VERY impressed by the service and the fancy packaging. I have recommended TMS to several work colleagues. Keep up the great work.. and the great deals!
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 18:48 ¶Hi Dr_Rusko,
I'm not sure where in Melbourne you could try them on, but here is a link to our fit guide.

TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 18:51 ¶Hi Sniffme,
The sizes of our VH suits are in centimetres. Here is a link to our fit guide, which shows you how to measure.

Cheers!

Best size guide you will find for Van Huesen is here: http://www.customcorporate.com.au/catalogues/VanHeusen.pdf

dlakers3peat on 02/08/2012 - 18:55 ¶not as good as the deal for $149 plus extra pair of trousers but still a good deal with the voucher. bought another suit. for anyone interested the suits are very well made and fit well.
dlakers3peat on 02/08/2012 - 22:01 ¶before you insult people you should get your facts right first.. I checked the tag of my suit that i bought from buyinvite and it is 100% wool, not a wool blend.

I am sorry if that sounded to you like an insult, that most certainly wasn't the intent.
From memory some of the suits were AVNS08 & 09 content is 65% Polyester, 25% Viscose, 10% Wool being sold as pure wool. Some of the others may have been pure wool but I don't recall their models.

maxixx, you are completely wrong, their Van Heusen's were Super 120 wool, I should know, I own one. It is identical to a Van Heusen I bought from Myer earlier. TMS also sell them, you can compare the product code and lookup the VH product guide too.
CK isn't all it's supposed to be, I looked at several in the US last year and its clear their products come from many different factories with varying quality and tiers.
I was very impressed by the Hugo Boss red labels, but they were >$500.
By the way, VH attire in the US as found in Macy's is completely different to what we get here as VH is produced by several companies who by the license for the name. The stuff we get here is actually quite good in comparison.
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 18:59 ¶Hey Dlakers3peat,
Thanks for the good feedback!
We love hearing from happy customers.
Cheers.
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 19:06 ¶Hi Giggidy,
Our Van Heusen navy suit is a dark navy.
We do free exchange and returns if your not happy with the colour.
Hope that helps.
Cheers!
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 20:01 ¶Hi Chongy,
Sorry mate, that's all of the sizes!
If we've sold out of a size, we won't be getting anymore in during this sale.
Cheers.
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:25 ¶Hey Chongy288,
I'll put it to the TMS team tomorrow and see what they say.
It's worth a shot!

+2 votesShitforbrains on 02/08/2012 - 21:11 ¶Thank you for this good deal. I think it is a true bargain deal. I had one problem with the web ordering. In the FAQ it says that payment method via precious metal or land transfer is acceptable, but there is no provision for this at checkout page.
+2 votesTheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:29 ¶Hi Shitforbrains,
Give the girls in customer service a call tomorrow, 1800 636 774, between 9am - 5pm. I'm sure they'd be happy to help!
Cheers.

+2 votesScottLetts on 03/08/2012 - 07:02 ¶I was pissed off too. I have a parcels of land in Ipswich, Caboolture and Morayfield that may just scrape in the $199 price tag.
TheMensShop on 03/08/2012 - 15:15 ¶Hi Jimothy,
If you want to make sure that you have measured your chest correctly, please visit the following site:
www.themensshop.com.au/fit-guide104 might be a little too large if you measure in at 98. Remember that these suits are a tailored fit, but not a slim fit as such.
Cheers.
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 21:54 ¶Hi Pooran,
I’m a bit confused- a 50inch jacket would put you in a XXXL (128), and a 33inch waist trouser is a size S/M
What size shirt do you usually wear?
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:36 ¶You're right JROX20, I've misread.
Pooran, the best way to get your correct size is to measure yourself using the guide in the below link.
http://www.themensshop.com.au/fit-guide/
Cheers.
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 21:46 ¶Hi Jimothy,
If you've measured your chest at your widest part (under the arms) and measure 98cm, then the 100 will fit you perfectly.
We also offer free exchanges, if it doesn't fit right!
Cheers.
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:45 ¶It won't cost you a thing if you need to return it. We have a free 30 day exchange and return policy, includes shipping.
We are based in Sydney and if you order before 12 noon, it'll be dispatched that day.
You do have the option to pay extra for express post with Australian Air Express.
Give the customer service girls a call tomorrow morning on 1800 636 774 and they'll be able to give you exact delivery times to Brisbane.
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 23:15 ¶Jimothy,
I can now confirm that delivery to Brisbane takes 2 to 3 business days. So yes, you'll have the suit before next Saturday.
Hope that helps!
lonewolf_860 on 02/08/2012 - 22:31 ¶do these suits come any smaller than 92? i'm an 86 :(
EDIT: never mind….read you post about sizes above :(
POWERevolution on 02/08/2012 - 22:43 ¶REP, what's my chance order this weekend and get delivery to SA metro by Wed 8th? Heading OS on early Thurs.
+1 voteTheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:50 ¶Hi POWERevolution,
All orders placed by 12 noon will be dispatched that day. So I'd like to say yes, but to be sure give the customer service girls a call tomorrow morning, on 1800 636 774, and they'll let you know if you'll need to order express delivery.
Cheers.
POWERevolution on 02/08/2012 - 23:12 ¶if you'll need to order express delivery
is that free or i have to pay extra?
btw if it doesn't arrive here on time can i able to exchange/return once i'm back in OZ (late September)?
TheMensShop on 03/08/2012 - 08:41 ¶Express delivery costs $9.95, and will get your goods to you within two working days. You are best to make a purchase before 12PM today so that it gets dispatched today.

TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:55 ¶Hi DB3,
We can't delay shipping but Australia Post will leave a note if you're not home and drop your delivery off at your local Post Office.
Your other option is to have it delivered to your office or a mates place.
Cheers!
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:56 ¶Hi Stuartfaz,
We do tend to sell out of the larger sizes first.
Maybe next time!
TheMensShop on 02/08/2012 - 22:58 ¶Hi Klone,
The closest we have is charcoal-
http://www.themensshop.com.au/Van-Heusen-Wool-Charcoal-Strip...
Cheers

I purchased this Van Heusen grey suit a few weeks ago and can definitely vouch for it as an excellent suit.
http://www.themensshop.com.au/Van-Heusen-Wool-Slim-Sharp-Gre...
Unfortunately, it's not part of the sale. An excellent product nonetheless!

pretty close to pulling the trigger- just need to pick a shirt. Whats the method used to measure shirts in the Van Heusen Range? (for neck + sleeve)
edit
Just pulled the trigger on the suit. How exciting! Looking forward to hopefully being able to tell my friends about the quality of suits.
wasabisauce on 03/08/2012 - 02:26 ¶Anyone interested in a Pierre Cardin suit from the last sale? Size 96 and ST84 leg. Unfortunately I was away for a trip when it came and by the time I found out it was too big it was too late to refund.
Its the black tapered fit merino wool one.
TheMensShop on 03/08/2012 - 08:42 ¶Hi Shmahoo,
You are best to go for the larger size. This is because a tailor can always bring a suit jacket in. It is much harder for a tailor to make a suit bigger than it is to make it more fitted.
Cheers.
