I appreciate the effort of all the providers/dealers to sell this.

    • I don't.

      • Forgot the "sarcasm" on my post.

  • Not very appealing isn’t?

    LOL!

It would be much better to get discounts and use the credit to buy a discounted GW5. Eg: Current $800 off phone price and $250 evoucher.

The key issue is the price tag Samsung applies to their S23 series. You can see how fast it sold out in the last Amazon promo:

I hate these Samsung promos where they give away free stuff while still charging rrp, then manipulate the invoice so the phone looks cheaper than it should.
People still forced to buy more junks stuff from Samsung

I really cannot comprehend how people can pay $2K plus for a smart phone when they know it depreciates more than 50 percentage in its first year.

“Samsung phones lose an average of 64% of their value in the 12 months after launch, and 77% after 24 months. iPhones lose 41% of their value in the first year after they are released and 60% after 2 years”

Because the last phone I bought was a Samsung S8+ over 6 years ago that is still awesome, and will be for another year or two at least.

Just bought the Ultra via the above $1.2k deal with the assumption it will last at least as long. And am still debating whether I cancel my order and just stick with my current phone for another couple of years.

These days no-one should ever buy a phone with the expectation of just 2 years use.
That is unless the absolute latest phone camera is essential for professional business use where a proper camera isn't appropriate.

      • I'll happily buy it if you regret your decision. Just PM'ed you

This is why I will never purchase a flagship Samsung phone. One look on marketplace will indicate how rapidly worthless their products become after a short period of time.

    • I bought the s23 ultra last week. Cost me 1k afet trade in of an s21 (base) and code. I've been happy with my s21 (acquired new for 550, thanks ozb!), am still happy with it, only trading up on the opportunity cost of the +$800 tradein bonus.

If it cost more i wouldnt have bought it, but 1k for a flagship phone that will last me 3+ years is worth it in my opinion.

      2.2k though? Na GTFO.

      • Where did you trade it in?

      • What did you get for your s21 trade in? My 512 S21 Ultra is in mint condition and the trade in value on their app only shows something like $300. With their $500 discount on a trade in included, its going to be ~$1400 from the Samsung store. Would also like to know how you got to sub 1k?

  • I just went into JB Hi-fi today and they are offering up to $1000 voucher cashback against the phone (Or anything else) for new phone ports to Telstra. Woman I spoke with at Indro (fabulous lady) said offer is valid through to 13th for the $99/300G on a 1TB.

I'm trying to work out funds as I do not have a credit card but fantastic income 😭

If this works in conjunction with the free watch and earbuds get in there in the next three days. Will keep this updated.
