This should include the 4K disc in this 3-Disc version. Apparently there are some issues with the mixing but it is what it is. All discs should play fine in Australia? Sorry I don't have any experience with 4K blu ray. Doesn't seem to be a limit on stock but you can only add 3 to your cart.

    People are complaining about the audio mix… Nolan did it on purpose. The dialogue is behind the audio to keep the movie at a pace. This movie is underrated af.

      We had to watch it on a not so great soundbar with the sound turned way down as we just had a baby. My mates went on and on about the sound. One day I'd like to watch it properly to see what they were raving about.

        Yes, from the looks of the images from Amazon user W. J. Harries review, HDR is labelled on the 4K UHD disc.

      I was straining to hear the dialog in the cinemas.
      Borrowed a DVD from the library and could actually understand what they were saying.
      Excellent film once you can actually understand what they're saying.
      Just thinking about the whole moving backwards in time concept after the movie, things started to click and you realise how good it is

      Yeah, the frustrating sound mix is a Nolan trademark at this point. Many parts of Interstellar were quite hard to hear in cinemas as well.

      I love the film and agree Nolan did it on purpose, but it's almost objectively a bad decision, a real blemish on some of his films. Wish he'd get over it and take the feedback to heart.

        The Room turned out to be a massive hit that is still shown in theatres around the world - 20 years after its release!

        It inspired a movie about its creation.

        Tenet is just in that category of "oh, that sorta sucked. I'm gonna forget about this and watch something else now"

          I watched Donnie Darko last night for the first time after hearing about it for over a decade and it isn't nearly as deep as people made it out to be.

          Determinism Vs free will, god debate, allegory for an alternative modern jesus story. Not a whole lot deeper. The 'time travel' stuff isn't that exciting either.

          If you want something to genuinely scratch your head at and untangle go watch Mulholland Drive

              And for the record, I was able to piece together the gunshot from the cinema foreshadowing and the jet engine time loop when the mother said she'd be flying home.

              But this is coming from a 28-year old, watching a movie kinda directed at teenagers - young adults, who has spent a lot of time reading philosophy and has already explored a lot of David Lynch films.

              Like I said, if you want something a bit deeper, more esoteric and with multiple interpretations, I recommend Mulholland Drive and the entirety of Twin Peaks.

                  @Boogerman: Psycho isn't really anything like Mulholland Drive. One was about a dissociative killer with a split personality preying on a woman at his hotel while the other is better not over-explained on a bargain forum.

                        As for Twin Peaks, how much was I supposed to persist? I pushed myself as long as possible, considering all the raving about it, but could only go so far before wanting to rip my face off. What did I miss?
                        As for 'dumb' I'm referring to people who label movies pretentious & over the top because they hate complexity (Tenet is a perfect recent example - when you ask people why they hated it, often the response is because they couldn't understand it!!!). And also you equated complexity with being deep. They're not the same thing. And what one thinks is deep I often don't.

      I’m sure every person here can point to something they did intentionally that was a bad decision and regrettable. That he did it intentionally, and after getting the exact same feedback for Dark Knight Rises, honestly makes his decision worse rather than more defensible. It’s not a good thing that people are saying they can’t make out what is being said and can not enjoy the film as a result.

      My guess is that Nolan doesn’t believe it’s an issue and he can make it out fine is probably in part skewed by the fact he worked on the script and production for so many years, that once they hit post he knows every word and can sub consciously adapt to it. It’s like he’s listening to a song that everyone else sings the wrong lyrics to, but he has the benefit of having checked the lyrics in the booklet and can mentally resolve any ambiguity in what’s actually heard. I’m convinced this plays a part and it’s disappointing that such a great director otherwise has released successive films with this issue.

        I haven't seen any Nolan movies on my surround system, but there are a lot of movies where, due to the mix and dynamic audio range, the voices are still drowned out. You need to crank the volume to cinematic levels (walls slightly rumbling) to hear a lot of clear dialogue in many films. Kinda an issue when you're in a townhouse or apartment

        Even if it was true that 5.1 helped, it’s again a poor decision to make when you know a large portion of the audience will be watching the film on nothing more than TV speakers. Having some sort of minimum specifications to have discernible audio when the same speakers work fine with all other content is sort of mad and I think is somewhat disrespectful or hostile to consumers who won’t know that going in and possibly paid to buy a copy or rent it out.

            @paveln: We don't have a 4K player. The only 4K display in our house is hooked up to my driving cockpit setup which is collecting dust. By the time we get all the equipment, Tenet will probably be in the bargain bin.

            Having said that I do have some 4K discs. 😂
            Had some JB Hifi coupons or something that were about about to run out so I just bought some 4K disc that I know I will watch.

    They say if you watch this film backwards you can hear a secret sound effect where Chris Chros (that's what his friends call him) released a tiny, tiny beep. It signifies both the beginning and endpoint of the movie. A movie where there are no takes. There is no viewer. The film is the story, the story is us. We are the film.
