I wouldn’t install this on my computer.

    Never heard of this..

    • +4

It’s on giveaway regularly, like so many other programs similar to this. These sort of programs can do serious damage to the registry.

        • +12

Why are you so sensitive about this software?

Making unnecessary changes to the registry always has an inherent risk.

      • +3

It's prevalent enough that Microsoft themselves caution against registry optimisation software and are very clear you are on your own if you use it and bad things happen.

I'm surprised that the OP is wanting facts around this point, when the software that is being promoted makes assertions to speed increases in systems without any evidence in doing so (indeed, how could one determine that modifying the registry doesn't slow things…. you can't… it's a baseless selling point that cannot apply in principle as it's applied to various system configurations)

Seems like snake oil to me, Windows "speeds" itself already automatically with background tasks

  • Soil your computer with this

    "Been using this for years."

    Why?

The No. 1 Powerful and All-in-one utility for cleaning your Windows PC

    No. 1? According to who?

In any case probably shouldn't be marked as a freebie as it's just a 1 year trial then you need to pay.

Windows Defender is free and meets most people's needs.

Only for those who do not know what is a PC.

  • Protect pc from what ? Viruses?

Never heard of it either, would recommend to not install it a all as Windows is good by itself these days and also random Softwares can be used by hackers to steal your information

  • Apparently this is better than some of the other options out there. Google is your friend fwiw. Some of the functions might not be as useful anymore ie the harddrive options. Remember you have to register, download install within the giveaway timeframe. And license only last 12months - will need to buy or fine a new giveaway copy at that point.

    • Let me guess, it includes defragging as a "feature"?

    • Bet it'll start nagging for a renewal after 9 months

  • I've used this on my previous laptop and been waiting for this deal to come again, thanks OP. Although unfortunately this is only for 1 year now.
It's actually pretty good. As always, review the items before confirming the changes especially the deep registry scans. And the Disk Analyzer is useful too.

  • Been using this for years, under the recommendation of a family member, who works as a senior-tech at a college. Has a lot of useful tools included, that are not related to the registry (with the file cleanup tools often proving quite helpful for me).
One of my favorite tools is file shredder, which can even be used to completely delete everything you have deleted via the recycle bin (as these files can be recovered, even after deletion, with special software; such software is also included with glary utilities). I've found it very useful in the decade or so I've been using glary's software.

This used to be handy back in the XP/2k days but a lot of the features are irrelevant now.

  • +1

Glary rhymes with wary and au contrary.

However this straight up sounds like spyware.

  • Have used many software like these before, back in the day.

But now as many have said regarding registry cleaning it is risky.

Back in my day, we downloaded song.mp3.exe off kazaa. Now you can install "no. 1" random "utility" software for the same effect hahaha.

  • I was liking the OP's rants… was entertaining lmao come back!! Do some more!! 😂😂😂

FFS this suite has about 100 tools, registry cleanup is just one of them . As many have said registry cleanup can be dangerous, but like every other tool like this it does a backup prior so you can restore. I have used this for about 5 years and had zero issues, its best tools as far as i am concerned is the outdated program adviser, startup manager and context menu manager. For free it is a damn good tool.
