Bong Joon-ho's The Host (Blu-Ray) - $5 + Delivery ($0 C&C/in Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

280

For if you have $5 burning a hole in your pocket, are wanting a Blu Ray and don't feel like Terminator will scratch that itch

And for the uncultured swine who have never heard of this film, it is a Korean monster movie/family drama from the director of Parasite and Memories of Murder.

If you've not heard of those, he also directed Snowpiercer. If that is even still too vague, it's the movie about:
the big choo-choo train πŸš‚
In the cold weather πŸ₯Ά
Starring Captain America! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸˆ

I've watched this, its okay, not a movie I'd want to buy though. More of a watch once then move on.

    • I've seen it twice and disagree

      • Did you buy it?

        • +1

          Believe it or not, twice.

Not the biggest fan of this one; although seeing it in SD on SBS doesn't really help. Snowpiercer was good. Haven't seen Memories of Murder so I'm looking forward to watching that.

Parasite though… yeah that was a brilliant movie!

A monster movie with a whole lotta heart. Imitated a lot there after, never bettered. Song Kang-ho is one of the best and greatest actor working in the field right now and is criminally underrated. Wonder wby?

Mother and Okja are also must see movies in the highest level.

I agree! I'm not a diehard fan, but you can't help but like the guy. I've only seen a few of his movies but they were enough to prove that he's a very versatile actor. i.e. My favourite characters he's portrayed were the King in The Throne and his comical character, "The Weird" in The Good, the Bad, the Weird.

I suggest streaming The Host or downloading it, rather than buying a DVD or BluRay.

      • Why not buy a disc? Where can you even stream the Host that isn't SBS with low bitrate & resolution plus frequent ads?

        • Personally, I'd spend money on a disc if I know I'm going to watch it more than once or if I really loved the movie.
This movie was kinda meh for me.

    • Judging a film by the trailer is pretty low brow
