Ainol Novo7 Elf II Android 4.0 Tablet USD $110 Delivered from BuySKU (~AUD$104.50)

640

UPDATE: See this comment here, using BACKSCHOOL coupon at BuyInCoins you can get the same Elf II for USD$105.99 delivered.

Cheapest I've seen so far for this dual-core based Android tablet. $110 USD delivered from BuySKU.

  • Amlogic 8726-M6 Dual Core CPU @ 1.5GHz
  • Dual Core Mali400 GPU
  • 1GB DDR3 Memory
  • 8GB Storage + Micro SDHC expansion
  • 7" 1024x600 LCD with capacitive touch screen
  • 2MP front camera

Do note that there's no GPS nor Bluetooth.

BuySKU also sells Ainol Novo7 Aurora II 16GB for $126.99 — similar spec as Elf but for $17 more you get IPS screen + 8GB more storage. HOWEVER, you can get the same Aurora II for $1 cheaper at BuyInCoins (I got this from @foobar's comment here). They are dropping price as Ainol Novo7 Flame became the new flagship tablet — same CPU but with 1280x800 IPS screen.

Ainols are making quite a splash. Haven't seen any mainland brands being received so positively! (And rightly so, I've got an Elf II)

    • -1

I'm sure they splash alot in the toilet.

      • +1

i read reddit gonewild on my tablet in the toilet.

I got one of these from Aliexpress two weeks ago, except it cost $130 but was delivered in 3 days. I was half expecting a cheap ass tablet like the pioneer dream book, but was pleasantly surprised when I got it running. ICS is smooth and the tab doesn't lag at all. Touch is responsive and it's amazingly useful having the playstore predownloaded.

On to more important things though, I think the butt of everyone's jokes should be the company slogan - Enjoy life! Enjoy Ainol.

    • +2

very unfortunate name and slogan for English speaking markets… lol i believe its a big hit in germany.. hahahaha

    • +4

      My gf doesn't enjoy Ainol.

For $115USD, you can get a 7" Ainol Novo7 Aurora II (IPS screen)

OR $105USD for a Ainol Novo7 Elf II

    • Indeed with discount code BuyInCoins would be cheaper. Thanks for finding it!

      • You're welcome :)

        • Buyincoins.. Hm… I had bad experience.

I bought an item from them recently. They sent me the wrong one (and it was a cheaper item). Sent them an e-mail, waiting for reply. Unfortunately for me, I bought 2 items from them… I am hoping they will send the correct item for my second purchase.

        • for faster response, go chat with their ebay account buyincoinsau.

        • That's what I did. No response so far. Lucky it is not a tablet.

      • didnt seem to work for me.

  • dammit if only it had BT and GPS…would be perfect for my car

    • the Flame has BT, but I can't find any with GPS

  • So does Ainol Novo7 Elf II have features such as HDMI out, USB OTG?

Also is it possible to install custom roms on this tablet?

    Thanks

    • According to the spec, it has 1x mini HDMI out port, and mini USB port can also do OTG.

    • Dark Elf and Feiyu are two mods that I've tried. Dark Elf allows Play store to recognise the tab as a SGS2 so you shouldn't have problems installing stuff.

      • Thanks, so is it hard to root and install custom roms on this thing?
And I read some comments from above that this tablet only has 1-2GB internal memory?

        • its VERY EASY just copy files to sd card and press certain keys during boot
check on the link above from RadioBirdman

  • Anyone used this for video chatting? Are they good for that purpose?

    • need a headphone mic to get clear skype.

      • what about video/camera quality?

        • The Skype software has terrible compatibility with many of these devices. Expect video errors and sound problems.

  • this is amazing, I always thought "ainol" was just taking the pi$$ with it's name, but seems like you guys are saying its good.. mmmm must resist impulse buy :)

    • Esp given the discount coupon! Wish I'd seen that last night :-(

  • Anyone have a video or some photos of how well pdfs look on this or the aurora tablet? I'm thinking about getting one for reading lecture notes/pdf's of textbooks at uni.

  • would this be a good cheap tablet that I can play high end games on well? or would the Cube U30GT be better?, or even something different?

    • If you know how to trick Google Play to think your Android tablet is a different device, you know how to root the tablet, and happy to load a custome firmware (or do a bit of firmware hacking), then yes.

If you expect to turn on the tablet, login to Google Play and install all the nice 3D games you bought/own, then no. Amazon Appstore is more willing to let you install games, but then again, most of the 3D heavy games I bought are on my Google Play account.

      • So most of the apps from google play are compatible with this tablet?

        • Apps generally okay. Most should work. You may have issues with HD widgets and Weatherzone Plus. Things with apps is that there are often other alternatives you can use instead. Video (mkv) streaming apps (ES File Explorer and MX Player) should work without any drama.

3D heavy games will require hacking most likely. Popular 2D games (AngryBirds, FruitNinja etc…) should be fine.

        • why do they require hacking? i've only ever owned apple so this confuses me. are only the big name brands allowed to access these high quality games or something? is the cube easier to interact with or same story?

        • This has more to do with EA and Gameloft. Basically, with 3D games, if EA / Gameloft are unsure about the GPU in your device, it will not let you purchase it (to save you and them the trouble of possible refund being needed later on). Then, there is also the display resolution issue.

With Apple devices, there are basically 10 of them and they all pretty much use the same family of GPUs. So easier to test and support. Android has 100+ devices by now.

Cube, probably in the same boat as these cheaper, lesser known brand tablets.

  • +1

Does anyone who already owns the tablet know how long does the battery last in one charge?

  • Grabbed the Aurora II from buyincoins.. at $115 its cheap experiment to see if it gets much use as a tablet/e-reader…

Now to do some reading for firmware/rom/mods for when it arrives
    (any website recommendations welcome)

Thanks OP, i bought one from BuyInCoins for USD$105.99. Glad i didn't buy one last night from BuySKU!

FYI, the coupon code is "BACKSCHOOL", not "BACKTOSCHOOL"

TIP: DO NOT USE REFERER CODE WHEN CREATING ACCOUNT, if you want to be able to use the BACKSCHOOL coupon.

There is no way to remove the referer code from your order, and then you can't add the BackSchool code.
I had to create a new account with a diff email, in order to be able to use the $10 off code.

An ICS Android Tablet for a hundo bucks! Yay! Now i can play LogosQuiz :D

    • Thanks for the info, been trying to purchased Two all morning without success, created new account and code working. bought Ainol Novo7 Aurora II for AUD$112 each. Also available in White if anyone's interested.

    • -6

BACKSCHOOL…no wonder it didnt work this fucking morning. nice work spastics!!!!!!!!

  • $82 in China.

    • Do you have the link for it? Thanks.

      • cash pick up price i suppose.

      • Here is one link I found about Novo7 Flame, directly from Ainol's website:

        http://www.ainol.com/plugin.php?identifier=ainol&module=arti…

        799 Chinese Yuan = ~AUD$120

And another special a few days ago, Aurora II 16GB for $599 Yuan = ~AUD$90

So $82 in China for Elf II during wholesale specials is quite possible.

        • I didn't know you speak Chinese! :p

        • many of us here speak chinese i reckon :D

    • +4

That would be good to know on chinabargains.com

Unfortunately the additional airfare costs put your quoted price at more than this posts….

      • +1

You made me to type chinabargains.com in the address bar :( (which is for sale incidentally)

    • Good to know.
I'm going to China in a couple of months.
Probably worth bringing back a few of them with me.

  • i ordered from buyincoins yesterday, but just got a 'none left in stock' notification from them. Damn.

    • Same… Will see if they get more stock back in.. I don't mind waiting a couple of weeks seeing as it was cheap

      • +1

        Aurora II has now shipped…

    • I ordered mine yesterday from BuyInCoins, and got an email confirmation that it's been dispatched.

It doesn't say Out of Stock on the website, and price has dropped to $109.99!

Don't know if the $10 off coupon still works though, cause i tried it (without logging in) and it didn't work. The 5% referer discount should still work though.

  • Did anybody get shipping confirmation?. I received the following e-mail from them.

"Sorry to bother you. You may find your order on BuyinCoins.com is still waiting to be shipped. Because we get a notice from our warehouses that we temporarily run out of stock of this item. We have been making every attempt to maintain stock of every item we offer on BuyinCoins.com, but we meet the inventory management problem on rare occasion.

We will ship your order within next 2-3 days if the new cargo arrives, otherwise we will refund you. For Details, please sign in your account and check the status of your order. Your attention to this notification would be highly appreciated."

  • I was really tempted to buy this..
but finally got Acer A500 from this http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/77526
but i'm stil hoping the price will go down in the future, so i can grab one for kids..

  • Ainol sounds like an enema.

  • thanks for this! purchased the Ainol Novo7 Aurora II Android 4.0 from this post = $115 AUD

    WINNING!

  • I just received mine from Buysku and powered it up. There is actually an english user manual with it. It works really well, the screen quality is great and so far everything looks good. It comes with an Australian power adapter.

    • When did they ship yours out?

      • 18 August on the Buysku website but I think it only left China on about 21 August.

        • How do u know when it left China? Post mark?

Got mine from BuyinCoins shipped 16/8, hasn't arrived yet (unless it arrived today).

        • use this tracker

          http://intmail.183.com.cn/item/trace/itemTrace.jsp

          then google translate when needed

        • mine shows ordered on the 15th, dispatched 18th and tracking shows 29th as 'leaving' (i think) Beijing Airport..

Hopefully mine should be far away either :)

        • Mine has arrived! It arrived to my work yesterday. Ordered 16/8, got emailed saying "sent to post office" on 16/8, arrived 30/8. 2 weeks exactly.
          This was from BuyinCoins.

They provided a charger and an OTG cable. But the charger is not Aussie pins, so i've had to use an adapter i already had.

  • anyone else received theirs yet?
    still waiting :)

    • +1

      cancel that,
      arrived this morning :)

      • yay! :)

  • +1

Mine came today! impressed with the shipping time and packaging!!
ordered with buy in coins on 21st of august

  • Still waiting for mine, arrived in CHULLORA NSW, 3 days ago. I'm in Perth, WA -.-

  • I want one, but I've missed out on this deal! Is this pretty much the same? It ends up being $97.83USD shipped to Aus…

    http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Ainol-novo-7-elf-II-…

I'm completely new to the tablet market, what is the quality like?

I've had bad experience with unknown brands(such as a no name hard drive media player)

    • Beware, that's diffeent tablet mate… Ainol Novo 7 Mars ! Mars is single core, Elf II dual core.

They are tricky with errors… makesure it's the right tablet you looking for.
