Word of warning if you decide to go with the 3600MHz variant in the listing for $23 more … it wasn't able to hit the advertised speed on XMP.
My setup was 5950X on MSI X570 Tomahawk.
Communication from Patriot wasn't the best.
In the end Amazon issued a refund smoothly.
Not sure how the 3200MHz one has less issues overall but worth doing some thorough research on the compatibility of whatever setup you have

Were you using the latest BIOS? RAM use to be really finnicky with AMD especially with dual rank sticks.

      • yeah updated to the latest bios at the time (2021) … they got back to me with multiple speeds and timings to try which worked, but it could never be stable at the advertised rate.

      That's strange

      Hynix @ 3600 CL18-22-22 is pretty relaxed

      It's been run @ 3600 CL16-19-19 on a 3700X with X470

As an X570 Tomahawk user, I'd think it's more likely the board is the problem than the RAM kit. I've a terrible time with a couple of RAM kits not on the QVL and MSI support were next to useless and after a fair bit of back and forth ended up telling me me to get a kit on the QVL.

I found a half decent deal on a b-die kit which was on the QVL so ended up switching to that and have had no problems since. One of the other kit is running quite happily in my kids PC with a 3600 on an Asus X370 board and the others got returned.

    • My Team T-Create Kit 3200mhzcl22 (2x32gb) which is sk hynix hits 3600 C18 on my Msi Meg Ace x570 and 5900x.

Did try 4 dimms before for 128gb and had boot issues and instability.

    • Were you using fastboot by any chance?

      • Can't remember sorry

I had stability issues on my msi x470 with 3600mhz ram, disabled fastboot and solid as a rock. Apparently fastboot enabled disables memory training on MSI boards….

  • had no issues with a 16gb kit of this ram, worked fine with XMP timings on both intel and AMD systems for me

    How do you utilise 64gb?

Virtual machines, machine learning, large databases, and poorly written new release game titles…

Maybe even at the same time.

      Tab hoarding

    • i was trying to run Vicuna last week and it maxed out my 64GB ram usage.
Thats on 13B model, and its not even close to 65B model….

      • You're probably using 16bit, rather than a 4bit quantisation. You can fit 13B 4 bit models in 8gb + context

    • Run After Effects.

    • viewing a large number of raw photos using the windows photo app… since it has a memory leak issue

I bought this a few days ago and I don't think it's actually 16-18-18-36. At least, I can't see it anywhere on patriot's website and the XMP profile defaulted to 16-20-20-40

Edit: Here is the pdf from the website, where it states 16-20-20-40: https://assets.website-files.com/63b6412d4ef17b35c8b5f9d5/64…
