Budget WFH Wired Headset

Hi Bargainers,

Looking for a budget wired headset for WFH Teams Calls. Have had issues with my bluetooth connectivity with my airpods and overear headphones so heading down the wired route. The cheaper the better.

Doesn't need anything fancy, just a decent microphone and sound for meetings.

Thanks for recommendations in advance.

Alejandro.

  • Would a dedicated mic be an option? Most if not all are just plug and play and would have vastly better sound quality than any headset mic

Great point, I did pickup a cheap Rode NT that I could use with headphones.

      • Antlion Modmic attached to a wired headset has great sound quality and looks less intrusive than the Rode. Not really that cheap, but cheaper than that Rode NT.

  • MSY has some cheap ones. I bought https://www.msy.com.au/product/logitech-h110-on-ear-stereo-h… for my kids during covid for $10 (its gone up now to $15)

    • your kids doing WFH ? wow

      • yeah i start them young

    These are pretty good.

Their bluetooth works really well, but they also come with a wired option.

    • Proper headset mic is much better

      • Not for the price

They arent super cheap but my work gave us all Plantronics 3220 which are around $60 and they work really well, good sound, no complaints from anyone else, lightweight. Teams certified and noise cancelling mic if that makes a difference

Remember you can tax deduct these in full.

Depends what you do for work.

  • Cheapy Logitech does me well

  • If you think there's a remote chance you'll ever do a 2hr+ Teams meeting, I suggest getting a decent budget gaming headset. Your ears won't hurt from the ordeal.

I use the Razer Kraken TE and Steel Series Arctis 3… both bought for under $50.
