Was looking for cheap 2TB 2.5" usb3.0 in Australia and I found DSE is selling WD My Passport 2TB 2.5" USB 3.0 for $149.99. Which I think is really cheap compare to results from staticice.com for $269.

bigosmallo on 18/08/2012 - 11:52 ¶$142.50 with my staff discount. Flap me that's a great price.
I remember getting my Seagate 500GB portable for $135 just a few short years ago.

garratt torlesse on 18/08/2012 - 12:10 ¶I reckon its an pricing error, wonder if they will honour the orders?

+2 votesHaha, I wasn't worried about the cost, I do overtime if I want stuff on top of the budget and she does the same, the joy of us both working in an profession with unlimited overtime. what she was annoyed about is me pulling my phone out the check constantly, so I left it in my pocket for a few hours and missed this.

+2 votesHey I'm home now. Yes, I used jorsmith's screengrab.
I went in and asked the guy if he can price match Dick Smith's price and showed him both Jv's receipt and the screengrab. He said he doesn't need the receipt and he went away to check. He came back and said Dick Smith have no stock and I said well they did this morning. He then said come have a look and he took me to the computer where he had the stock check up on the Dick Smith website. I asked him if I can find stock using a different postcode can he do it and he said yes.
Then he walked away and I realised he was looking at a different product on DS site. He was looking at a Western Digital 1TB USB 3.0 2.5" drive for $139. So on the same product I tried a few different postcodes and eventually got it to show up as in stock. I went and got him and showed him and he said he will have to ask his supervisor.
His supervisor comes over and the guy told him, we have this for $285 can we price match this? his supervisor said well if its in stock we have to. So I went to the counter and the lady said I also get the 5% discount.
In short: He price matched it to the wrong item which meant I got it $139 and with the 5% discount I got it for $132.05 total.
It doesn't get any better then that ;)

+1 voteJust saw your post now. Here is my receipt with the number showing.
Receipt: http://upload.ozbargain.com/2012/08/18/9183_officeworks.jpg

I went to OW Box Hill South store and show them the screenshot and the receipt from jv, they said that can beat it by 5%, but there's no more stock available. They called Nunawading store and put aside one for me. I went to Nunawading straight away, but the guys there refused to give me the deal cos DSE online price is already gone.I said Box Hill South store can do it but no more stock, the guy said then that's their problem and they've done it wrong. (I feel pissed off by their cold faces, after driving all around the areas like an idiot and got nothing at all). After lunch I went to Kew East store to try my luck, with the receipt from jv, they did not ask me a single question, and gave me the deal straight away. I bought one and turned back in 5 minutes and bought another one. That's the whole story. Guys, if you want the deal, go to Kew East, and I swear to god I (and I will convince all my friends)will never go back to Nunwading store again.

+1 voteReceipt for $132.05 each…

-1 voteGuys 150 is the price you pay for a ONE TB 2.5 inch drive. Are you guys 100% sure that this is:
a) 2.5 and not 3.5 inch
b) usb3?This is a crazy good price.
Edit: Furthermore no point in posting receipts because OW policy is NOT to pricematch pictures/scans/copies of receipts as they use the old "it might be photoshopped" excuse.

jv , jac9meo and myself all bought ours from OW Kew East.
Here is photo of one of mine: http://upload.ozbargain.com/2012/08/19/9185_wd_drive.jpg
I will let you decide if it is 100% what we say it is.
It was a crazy good price.
Definitely a Western Digital 2TB USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive…

+1 voteHi guys,
I tried my local officework here in Sydney with the printed receipt. the lady asked me is that from internet. few other customer also came earlier today with same receipt to match the price and unfortunately they could not do it while dicksmith discontinued the product. the lady also said whoever in Melb did it wrong match the price yesterday while the stock was out of stock in dicksmith on 18th.Oh well, whoever got the deal are really lucky and enjoy using it :)
thanks guys.
wakkawalla on 20/08/2012 - 21:13 ¶Thanks for telling us your experience! +1
Lucky i didnt waste my time with trying to go in to OW today.

I went into a Sydney Officeworks store and managed to get them to price match the receipt uploaded by knots2u2 (http://upload.ozbargain.com/2012/08/18/9183_officeworks.jpg),even though they found out Dick Smith discontinued the deal. The argument I used was it is not about price matching Dick Smith any more, it is about getting the equivalent deal another Officeworks offered to another consumer. I told them to call the East Kew Store to validate the transaction which they did. I was then allowed to purchase 2 of those WD 2TB HDs for $283.10.
