This is an important comparison to the RG35xx

Much brighter on the RG35xx but also shows size comparison

    https://www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/146i42y/wow_the_…

    • +1

I wouldn't just rely on that dodgy thread. Plus vs 35xx display has been beaten to death many times before, brightness was a non issue. I agree with one of the comments there about filtering. There's a strong chance the OP inadvertently lowered brightness while selecting filters. Plenty of action shots in daylight on r/MiyooMini re: brightness.

    • None, uses micro sd cards

  • Can anyone confirm if the emulated game & watch “Greenhouse” and “Donkey Kong Jr” work?

  • +3

also, a new development on RG35xx with Koriki CFW,

capable of running N64, Dreamcast, PSP & NDS.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/RG35XX/comments/1484jc3/new_rg35xx_…

    • +1

To be clear, it may run some of those systems’ games, but it certainly won’t run them well.

      • If it runs mario kart 64 I'll be happy

Plus just run another sd card for dual boot

        • I would imagine that would be fine. Generally runs on most hardware.

        • These are awesome, can't beat it at this price, but they do not run N64 games due to lack of suitable 3D hardware.

    • +1

      Very nice

I have a feeling GarlicOS has stopped development now. Pretty good for what it is though

    • Do you think miyoo mini plus will be able to do the same one day?

      • +1

        Neither really have the power.

      • Have a look for some miyoo batocera videos on YouTube

  • +2

How many games does it come with by default?

    • Click on the link. Can’t really discuss here.

      • The link doesnt say how many games, just instruction how to install, which itself is quite vague to me lol

        • +3

It is in the title of the eBay add.

  • +1

I already have the Ambernic 35xx and rg351v, this will go along nicely with the both of them.

    • Phew! Good to know I am not the only one who also has both of those Anbernic consoles and still also purchased a Miyoo Mini Plus too! I absolutely don't need it but couldn't resist adding another device to the collection to tinker with.

      • +1

Haha, i got it for my other kid but I find that the small form factor of the 35xx and Miyoo are better suited to be carried around. Although i have bought carry cases for them all and a spare which this one will fit nicely in. But yeah glad to know im not the only one who likes these devices. I also have two modded psps somewhere packed away.

I am using 256gb cards for the both of them. I also agree with the above comments dont use the stock cards. If you have to, just copy the card over to a new good quality one and leave it somewhere as a backup.

    • +1

      gotta collect them all

      • Ive already got too many modded devices, dont even get me started on all the other mini systems and consoles lol

  • Are there any cool ones with a famicom classic colour scheme?

    • You can get aftermarket buttons

  • Seems like the black version is a couple of bucks more expensive than the other colours, but grabbed one nonetheless. Thanks OP!

    • +1

Have the black in the original miyoo mini. Went grey this time.

      • Opposite of me, i have the ambernic 35xx in grey so i got this in black.

  • +1

I've been waiting for the clear purple to go sub 100 for a while, cheers OP. For those wondering if a Vita is a decent replacement, probably? Retroarch, PS1, Vita games. Think about this though, they aren't making any more Vita's… that's why I keep older legacy handhelds at home, and use these wherever.

  • Never had one of these, but guessing it’s like playing with a game boy but with better upgraded screen and with a billion games available

    • You can also add overlays and colorization to achieve a complete retro look and create a nostalgic feel.

  • Anyone who has one, how awkward is it to play? I mean it looks compact and nice but I every YouTube video people seem to be gripping it awkwardly

    • +1

take a look at the RG35xx if you think the miyoo is too small

    • +1

Have the mini original as well and even it is very playable.

      • Totally. I have largish hands (10 cm palm width), I kept going back to the mini V2 for puzzle games … e.g. Catrap playing one handed

  • Game roms included?

    • +1

Throw away the included sd card and start with Tiny Best Rom Set GO

      • i found that set go. so basically just download everything that has union on the file name? (also the arcade update)

        • +1

There are multiple sets to fit different size cards, they just get added on so you download all of them

          32gb - base
          64gb
          128gb
          Arcade

Each set also has the box art included already

          • @impoze: ok and later if my card is 256gb for example i can just combine them all (copy paste and if asked, merge/replace)

            • +1

@CyberMurning: Yeah but tiny best rom set collection is up to 128,

Anything else you just drop into the console folder with your scraped box artwork

  • My Anbernic RG351V died on arrival so I'm hesitant to give these consoles another go.

Like some of others in questioning if I need this besides having something new and shiny.

Have a Vita for ps1, psp, vita games. I understand it does more but this is its bread and butter.

Have a N3ds and snes mini which can do nes, snes, gbc, gba.

With the vita and 3ds I think I'm pretty much covered with the consoles and games I want?

Does this console do the N3ds compatible games better?

    • Won't get 3DS on this level

      • +1

That is true. These games can't do DS or 3ds.

Having said that I suppose these consoles have way better screens than the DS/3ds so snes, GBA, gameboy etc would look better.

        • we have the same gadgets (mine, plus switch) and therefore in the same situation. what should we do ?

          • @CyberMurning: I want it purely because it's new and shiny.

My head tells me I won't have much time/desire to play it once I get it anyway.

            So for now… I'll resist.

Not sure if thats what you want to hear haha

            • +2

@Circly: same here so little time so many games, i can be reborn for 3 more times and probably still cant finish all

              • @CyberMurning: Yes… I haven't counted my backlog.

But it would be hundreds of games.

                Ps3/Ps4/Ps4/vita/3ds/will/wii u/switch/PC.

Games that I have bought, not downloaded including digital and physical lol.

                I own the following consoles:

                1 x PC
                1 x phat PS3 ( broken)
                2 x slim PS3
                1 x n64
                1 x Sega mega drive
                1 x wii
                2 x wii u
                1 x DS lite
                1 x OG gameboy
                1 x gameboy colour
                1 x 3ds
                1 x n3ds xl
                1 x vita 1000
                3 x vita 2000
                1 x RG351V (broken)
                1 x snes mini

Based on the above I don't really need more gadgets. But it's tempting lol.

Especially a steam deck / rog ally

                • @Circly: oh so you play switch on pc ?
well, lucky you dont have oculus vr
i had but sold months ago
actually i played it a lot more than consoles/handheld
but got dizzy easily so decided to sell

                  • @CyberMurning: Oh oops. I have that many I forgot to list the following :

                    1 x OG switch
                    1 x oled switch

I'll wait for VR tech to mature a bit… Maybe when a crazy ps5 and VR deal comes along. For now I'll wait for slim /pro so I can finally play my backlog ps4/ps5 games I've been hoarding over the last few years.

                    • @Circly: its already good. even quest 2. but depending what kind of person you are.
if you only like retros and simple games then no, if you kind of active person and like to move your body not just fingers, VR is already here.
the downsides are not about VR but mostly about battery tech, etc etc which happen everywhere from mobile to smartwatches.
first time i put the quest on, its like WOOOOWWWW
and beat saber? omg sooo cool

                      • @CyberMurning: I'd def want to try at some point!

As long as it doesn't give me headaches lol. How many hours can you play before you need to stop?

                        • @Circly: depending on the game, but each person different, i am bad with rollercoaster ride for example.
the worst is when you are the pilot of fighterjet/plane, i only can last for 3 mins
table tennis, beat saber etc, im fine
some games can be played by sitting down

  • +6

Perfect timing to pick up micro sd cards

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/781516

    • Wow indeed

  • Is the screen/ resolution good for the price in person?

    • +2

      Screens are amazing.

    • +2

IPS lcd screens with plenty of resolution and brightness for retro games

      Even upscaling some consoles

  • +2

I have the RG35XX that I love but grabbing one of these to compare

    • Keen to hear your thoughts next week when it arrives!

  • -1

Codes aren't working any more. 'This code can't be applied to your order'. What gives?

  • +7

I have modded, psvita, 3ds, 2ds, psp, dsi, wii, WiiU, nes mini, snes mini, ps mini and switch with the virtual console (not modded)

I still play my miyoo mini plus WAY more! I actually finish the games I start.

I think it’s because it looks soo good and feels fine to play. Instant resume and the size makes it really easy for short burst playing.

But be careful, the Miyoo mini plus needs to wait for onion os v4.2 to be released. The current version will brick your device unless it’s the v4.2 beta.

  • +1

    Grabbed a white one

  • +2

I have all types of handheld you can imagine imcluding Odin Pro and Steam Deck. This is basically my daily carry as it fits perfectly in my pocket and I love the grey classic color like my DMG GB

  • +2

Just went to buy one… and all listings are out of stock :(

    • Ozbargained.

  • Anybody knows how long does it take to get it delivered?

    • I ordered on the 7th of June (unfortunately before the sale price!) and it got delivered today. I'm in Melbourne.

      • +1

So about a week with public holiday in between

  • lol missed out but i have been downloading 80GB of the rom sets

    • Lol surely this won't be ATL price.. Another deal will come along!

      • hmm but i think ATL 75$ will hold for a while, its the 22% off, that is big.
even from temu/ali, cant get less than 95-100
        edit.. whups found 85

  • +3

anyone missed out, here a bit more $85
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/385663254831

  • Waiting for a good sale on the 353ps

  • Seems the Purple was OOS during this sale unfortunately. Seller hopefully will make it right.

    • My purple one shipped

  • Has anyone had their order move in Auspost tracking since last week?

Or is it coming from china to a warehouse here and then sent out?

Trying not be too eager, but I'd like to be home when it arrives to save the trip to the local posties office….

    • +1

Finally processed by Aus Post. Won't make it be the estimated delivery date, that's for sure.

      • Cool, thanks for the reply!

      • Delivery estimate 21/5-26/6….

  • +2

Seller created the label on last Friday but there is no update. Auspost hasn’t picked up yet :|

    • Yeah, same here…but boxall has had some movement today with it being processed by auspost…

    • Same thing happened with mine, label was created on Friday and it started moving finally from Monday night. It's due for delivery today.

    • Same there was an update last night. Hopefully I can receive it before weekend

      • +1

I received mine now. But is it just me or does the ebay ad say 8000 games. There is no sd card included. Was this supposed to have them games and a sd card. But in the ad description i didnt see it at the end with the included contents?

        • -1

read all comments on page 1

          • +1

@CyberMurning: I've already done all that. I was just assuming due to the fact of the ebay ad title it came preloaded. I'm setting it up now with a 256gb samsung evo card.

  • +1

Mine just arrived too without an SD Card. The listing said 128Gb card so thats a bit disappointing regardless of whether the included card is good or not. You could have cloned the games onto a decent card etc

    • +1

agree it has mentioned to insert card etc but down the bottom about packing content something like that, there is no mentioned about card.
well yeah just consider you get a good deal on this 75 is cheap. page 1 comment already few warning from people buying from the same seller re the card
i have 10GB of roms ready but no device lol…

      • Its possible its 128MB ram built in, not 128GB SD Card. I took the sd card from my RG35xx and chucked it in but no ROMS etc show up so i am downloading some files to copy to the SD Card from

        https://archive.org/details/miyoo-mini-plus-sd-no-games

        Hopefully it works after that.

Wifi also not currently working either, it scans for networks but nothing shows up.

        • +2

You're doing it wrong mate. The stock sd card and its content are totally pointless. People literally bin the stock sd card straightaway. RG35xx's software won't work either, but you can copy your roms/bios from there.

You need a separate sd card for the miyoo, format it FAT32, then put OnionUI in it. Full guide [here] or just follow Onion's getting started. From there wifi should work…

The official store give either 32 or 64 GB stock card, but I personally found nothing of value there. Well, except maybe Diablo 1 files for DivolutionX port. That's it.

          • @Fullhalter: Thanks, will check it out.

            • +1

              @Sprintz25: No worries.

I forgot to link retrogamecorps guide.

              • +2

@Fullhalter: All setup now thank you. Wifi also working now. FYI, the Onion link was for the Miyoo Mini (not plus) so i had to search a bit for the Mini Plus Beta which for some reason wasnt easy to find. Appreciate your help.

      • damn just receive mine today and yes no sd card to be found. Good thing I bought 256gb Samsung evo from last deal. Anyway we can download the roms in one go?
