  • Good enough for bird watching from a considerable distance as to not disturb them?

    • +33

Sure, just watch out they don't call the cops on you.

      • Please get your mind off the gutter for once. Thank you very much lol

  • +6

Binocs get a good review at DCW: https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/reviews/celestron-outland…

Don't need them but a very nice deal OP

  • 10% DEAL on Invicta watches no longer

  • +2

That's a great deal, bought 2. Been looking for some additional glass for the family without breaking the bank, these should do nicely for that price.

Incidentally, the price will show up as $94.07 each until you add them to the cart and go to checkout. The discount will be applied there.

  • What's the highest zoom you would want for handheld? I am wanting to use them for whale watching from shore/cliffs.

    • +1

12x the limit if you trust yourself to not be shaky. 8x or 10x is usually a good balance between zoom and steadiness.

      • Do anyone know why this one is more expensive then the 10 or 12x zoom ones?

          Brand, reputation, quality

        • Quality aspects include: "Fog Proof (nitrogen purged), Multi Coated Optics, Waterproof"

    • I would highly recommend 8x for general use handheld.

10x gives you a little more reach but at the expense of shake.

  • This powerful enough to see the 4 biggest moons of Jupiter?

    • +12

yeah and maybe glimpse of Uranus.

      • +2

What’s the furthest distance of a bedroom I can look at? Asking for a friend.

      • 16 mins since the comment was posted, and no jokes yet on Uranus 😜

    • +1

I bought these ones and you can see the 4 moons:

      https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B003AM87Q4/ref=ppx_yo_d…

      You'll need a tripod though.

      • Will a gimbal work

      • Thanks, I had this a few years ago and saw the moons with it.
Didn't now it was so cheap now, I paid nearly $300 + tripod.

I'll just buy that again then :)

  • +2

Awesome deal, grabbed 1 pair with the SD card. Thanks

  • Anyone wants to share the 2x in Sydney area?

    • +5

We can spy on each other…

      • +2

MAD, Spy Vs Spy style :)

      • As long as we keep our distance

  • -5

    Cheers, got 20.

  • How would these go for scouting waves in the distance for surfing? Talking 200-1000 metres

  • +1

Is this any good for whale watching off the WA coast?

  • A lot of the "qualifying 10% off" items don't stack.
This one does in case anyone's looking for an alternative: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B09WB2NL8W/

Bought to keep in the car!
Often I’ll drive to a lookout and wish I had some binoculars to appreciate a detailed perspective.

    • +2

Maslins nude beach has a nice high lookout.

      • Will he/she be able to peruse it from Launceston (on a clear day obviously)?

        • +2

A bit tricky with the contours and intervening headlands, but you might be able to catch a reflection off the space station at the right time…

  • Nice, good reviews. Grabbed two; the other will serve as a nice gift!

  • +1

Anyone in Melbourne wanting to split? I only need one.

    • In case you missed the detail in the post Krishg (not uncommon):
you can buy ONE and get the discount, as long as you also add a qualifying item like the BIC pens in the OP's example.

      • +2

No, I didn't miss it but didn't need any of them (already spent too much this prime day).

  • Did the discount percentage change? Shows $94.07 each but I’m getting two for $158.07

  • Yea it has changed they have caught onto it

  • +1

Yeah game over on all the items, the 10% off is only applying on 1 item now, not both.

    • +2

Thanks for post! Been wanting a pair for ages and this made me pull the trigger on a better quality set than I would have otherwise bought.

  • If anyone in Sydney has an extra one, im happy to buy it

  • Did anyone in Melbourne buy the pair? Keep to buy one, looks like I just missed the promo.

  • If anyone in Sydney wants to split, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi All, has anyone's order status changed to shipped? Mine still hasn't shipped yet. thanks

    • My other US order from this promo, made on the 12/7, only shipped a few hours ago.

    • Mine shipped yesterday. Ordered later without the full discount

    • Mine shipped 5 days later, 18/7. What was their delivery estimate?

Recently got a $20 voucher because Amazon had missed packing my order, which after escalation then got top priority and was delivered on schedule. Makes no diff to Bezos but it's excellent PR and CS.

  • Thanks everyone, mine still says Arriving 24 July - 2 August and the order was placed on 13th July but the order progress is still a little bit behind the "shipped" mark in the tracking section

    • Mine arrived today

  • Order placed on day of OP and got these delivered today.
