Any Recommendations for a Corded Vacuum Cleaner for Carpets?

Looking for a good vacuum for carpets. I had a look at the miele options, but it seems that only the c3 comes with power head? Its quite heavy though.

    Dyson

  • whats wrong with the Miele? Its the one everyone will suggest, so if its not suitable then why so people perhaps can suggests alternatives that dont have the issue you have with the Miele

You dont really need the powerhead; its nice but people get too worked up about having a super clean floor. Its just dirt, you arent eating off the carpet or licking it so a few crumbs of dirt here or there which arent even noticeable really doesnt make a difference to anything

If you don't have a power head, it's difficult to push on carpet.

      • where did you get that from? I have a Miele and no power head and its totally fine to push on carpet. If you need a powerhead you can buy it separately and, as you say, you can buy a model with it anyway

If your issue is that the C3 is too expensive, then thats a different issue to 'I cant find one without a powerhead'

  • They all suck.

  • I have been using the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Multi Floor for about 5 years now and find that to be good (though my vacuum cleaner experience is limited).
It has really good suction, and is easy to use. It is a bit heavy, but that is not a concern for me.

Use a Dyson cordless for general, quick day-to-day cleanups.
Use the Dyson corded for a more thorough job.

Miele seems to last forever. Their old stuff did anyway.

I wouldn't go with Kmart, instant garbage.

  • Are you prepared to go with pre-owned? I prefer Kirby (upright, power drive) for my Brintons axminster.

  • Had a Miele for 7 years and it's been awesome. I've even considered buying a newer one even though mine is fine. I probably wouldn't buy anything else.

  • I have a $60 kmart vacuum that i found durring hard rubbish 6 years ago. Needed a new hose (easy swap) . It works like a charm.

Recently given a dyson dc29 (used downstairs on hardwood floors).

    They perform the same.
