  • OW don't even know what they are doing. Went to the Carlton store yesterday who woul not match Kogan. Apparently there was an internal memo. Yet Taren Point happily price matched.
Re the credit, do you need to use all of the credit by 30 sept?

    • same… went to 2 stores yesterday, both not match with Kogan even with receipt.

I'll rather get Ainol now with more than half price.. wondering $125 for Ainol Fire or $75 for Ainol Elf II

  • awesome price for an awesome tablet!

  • Getting closer and closer to my price range.
Damn being a poor uni student.

  • OW at Clarence St - apparently their head office sent instructions to not match with Kogan again - I showed the receipt and they conceded yesterday's match was a mistake.

Shame. Was such a good price.

  • Just grabbed one from OW in Ballarat and they price matched. Happy fella! Now whats the chances of somehow tricking the setup process into thinking I'm in US so I can get the $25 credit as its still the 30th over there in some parts???? Any ideas??

All good, set it up just then and $25 credit still works! Nice! Happy Ozbargainer!

  • Pricematched at OW Southport QLD. Thanks OP.

Edit: 2am in New York yet still got $25 credit.

    • It is still Sunday in Hawaii even as I type this ;-)

The quality of Asus tablets are generally inferior to Samsung and HTC. I am not sure about the Nexus 7 though but buyer beware.

    • if youre not sure then why comment? eh good one mate

    • Not sure if trolling or stupid.

Are you serious? have you compared the transformer prime/infinity to the galaxy tabs?

  • There's rumor that the Nexus 7 will fall more in price (arond $99 USD?) when the ipad mini releases, so might want to wait until then for some real bargain.

    • The ipad mini is a rumor.

For the last time. asus said the $99 tablet is not true

$99 USD will have low spec…. similar to Ainol ElfII,AuroraII,Crystal which you can get it now already

    Kogan's new pricing - Google (Asus) Nexus 7 - 8gb now $239+19 and 16gb $279+19 delivered.

    Just popped my OzBargainer cherry!

Got my Nexus 7 delivered after price matching OW over the phone last night. Officeworks customer service is super awesome and had no hassles getting the 5%, plus free delivery! Keep it in mind next time, if you don't feel like running around!
    - Google Play $25 free credit - still active when I setup my account 3pm aest.
    - 25 billion Bargain Apps sale offer over
    - Still some other great offers available $1.99 for top 25 google books - got hunger games.

I've been using an iphone and itunes for years, got tired of all the proprietary iTunes store drama. Happy to be using both and Android has a lot of cheap or free entertainment, crackle movie app etc.

BTW..the Nexus 7 is an awesome little tablet packed full of features. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean O/S out of the box.
    Future Needs
    - micro sd card support
    - larger capacity drive o/s only available in 8gb or 16gb
    - better camera, 3mp and up would great, 5mp ideal
    - more official apps, less rogue ones :/

Kogan can be annoying, they change their prices so quickly. On the Iphone 5 release, they offered the 16gb for $699 that night, the next morning before I got a chance to think about it they raised the price by $50 - that blew the deal obviously :)

Received mine today, and am a bit disappointed in my first Kogan transaction. It comes with an American type plug. To solve this they chucked in a cheapish no-brand USB charger which outputs only half the amps of the official one (the official Asus charger is 2Amps, the one Kogan added in is 1Amps). This means I have to supply my own travel adapter, or use a slower charger which is against the warranty.

    • Did you really expect it to be Aus stock?

      • +1

Well, Kogan is an Australian website, they did not indicate it was overseas stock, and I never bought from Kogan before. So, yes, I did. I could live with them providing a travel adapter, but a no-brand charger that emits half the required output is just wrong.

Yea, but they are known for drop shipping from Hong Kong.

In my opinion, online stores like to hide the fact that their products are imports in hoping customers will just assume it's Aussie stock.

Also they did state in smaller font at the bottom of the description.

"This Product is offered and supplied by Kogan HK Limited pursuant to the Terms and Conditions."

        • Fair enough, but I must have missed the small print. Usually product from HK come with a special travel adapter marked as "for tourists only". I much prefer that over some dodgy USB adapter. I chucked my last no-brand USB adapter after it made dodgy sounds that sounded like short circuits.

  • Got mine today, i can't believe i still got the $25 google play credit ! so happy !
