You’re right. AMC is a chain of cinemas. Don’t bother trying to use a Hoyts ticket at a Greater Union cinema.
The list of cinemas the ticket can be used at is listed here. http://www.wishlist.com.au/Product/ProductDetail.asp?SKUID=1...
Hmm. Here we Dell again.
From Wishlist’s terms and conditions:
“Cancellation by Us
Back to Contents Close this Window
We reserve the right not to provide goods or services, terminate membership accounts, remove or edit content or cancel orders (or part thereof) at our sole discretion at any time. Without limiting the operation of any other Terms and Conditions herein, we will not be held liable for loss or damage arising from the exercising of these rights.”
Now..again..what happens if the service/goods are provided free? The payment is their coupon, and if we give them that, wouldn’t that make them bound if they accept the coupon?
USE 10 minute mail! best way to get free stuff and not give away personal email address
yep doesnt work anymore. also nothing else under $10 with free shipping.
try the code… didnt work..
Please correct the following error before continuing:
‘NewSubscriber’ is an invalid Promotional Code. Ensure that you have not entered a Gift Voucher / Gift Certificate code (these are entered later in the payment process) and enter a valid Promotional Code
Pffft I signed up while it was still valid and just received this email
Hello,
Thank you for your recent interest in wishlist.com.au. We have received your order but unfortunately it has been cancelled as it did not meet the terms and conditions of our ‘New Subscriber’ promotion.
We understand that this promotional code was recently published online. Unfortunately this was done without our consent and the post neglected to include all terms and conditions. We apologise for any inconvenience but should you have any further issues we recommend you contact the owner or operator of that site directly.
If you paid for any part of your order with a credit card please rest assured that this amount has been refunded in full and this amount will appear on your next or subsequent statement.
Kind regards,
Karyn
Same here. I wonder which condition our orders did not meet?
Perhaps I should respond:
“Thank you for your recent reply. I have received your email and have decided to avoid any future possibility of conducting business with you as you have failed to meet honesty standards by declining to honour the ‘New Subscriber’ promotion.
Kind regards,
e_wolfe
Got the email too.
Why can’t these websites/companies realise the implication of their promo codes BEFORE publishing them. The mistake was theirs, but again, they just pull out the “oops. we’ll just cancel your order then.”
I won’t revoke my vote because it was a good deal at the time.
I received the same email…
They should honour the deal because…..
1. We lawfully accessed the site, with the deal & the discount. It is not like we hacked their site to do all that.
2. drawbacks like these would hurt their business goodwill
3. It is not very nice….
Just emailed ‘Karyn’ about the issue seeing she was pretty vague in her message. There’s no help on Wishlist as to what the conditions might have been for the voucher, so I’m hoping she might tell me.
More info soon people. I encourage everyone to chase up their orders. It might only be a movie ticket, but it’s still what you should be entitled to.
“Hello, I was not aware of the terms and conditions of the offer. Please point me to where these terms and conditions have been published.
In the meantime I’d like you to please delete my account, i.e. delete all reference to me, my email address, my name, my phone number and my credit card that you obtained from me under this deceptive promotion. I withdraw any permission I have granted under the Privacy Act for you to have this information.
Please reply to me indicating that these details have been removed from any database or system of yours.
Thanks”
Ordered 2 tickets for $8 yesterday, and the order seems to have been despatched already :-) oh well, guess I learned the lesson from the Dell fiasco.

I received the exact same email :-( I was looking forward to that freebie
Was it just me or did anyone else see a link to the coupon’s terms & conditions? And when you clicked on the link, there weren’t any defined?
“When the item was checked out, the opportunity to view the voucher’s terms and conditions was presented. Upon clicking this link, it was stated to the effect that there were no associated terms and conditions attached to the voucher. How, if indeed there are terms and conditions, can this be reconciled against your claim that the order did not meet your ‘Terms & Conditions’?”
Exactly. Sounds like their way of trying to weasel out of the deal. Easy to hide behind something you can’t actually confirm. Hence the reason I sent them my email, and have already drafted up a response about the relevant laws (very similar to the Dell fiasco, funnily enough).
I received the following today. Please note I did not try and redeem more than once.
Hello XXXXX,
Thank you for your reply. This promotion was open only to all new subscribers of our wishMail newsletter. After they subscribed to the newsletter, they were then sent an email outlining the details of the offer ,the promotional code, and the terms & conditions. The email that was sent at the time included the following paragraph:
“We like to take good care of our new friends, so enjoy a $10 saving on your next Wishlist.com.au purchase. Simply enter the code NewSubscriber during the checkout process to redeem your offer. This offer is one per person and cannot be used in conjunction with any other Wishlist.com.au offer.”
Dozens of eligible members took advantage of this promotion and received their orders accordingly. Your order was not fulfilled as it did not comply with one or more of the following conditions:
- You were not subscribed to the wishMail newsletter prior to taking part in this promotion
- The promotional code was used in conjunction with our Free Delivery offer
- You attempted to redeem this offer more than once
Kind regards,
Karyn
