  • Thanks OP. I ordered this morning at $598, almost lost $100 shame of LG.

    • +1

i wasn't going to post it as it said it was posted 19 hours ago but at $498 for this…….

      • It was 598 19 hours ago. I just contact amazon to cancel my order. I was discussing with them to see if they can match the same price for my existing order, and amazon refused.

        $100 saved. It's a really bargain!!! LOL

        • can't you just press cancel on the amazon order….

          • @ilove: I did, but it's said shipping is in progress, can't guarantee cancellation.

        • +1

Order it now and then cancel the original order. If it's already shipped, just return the $598 monitor.

  • just bought - lowest price ever!

  • absolutely gorgeous monitor.

    • +1

I'm surprised how well it validates using my x-rite calibrator.

  • +2

THANK YOU OP. I was going to purchase from Officeworks with price beat tomorrow (as it dropped to $598 this morning) but this deal is too good to pass up.

  • -5

    $500 for a 60Hz monitor?

    • +6

      Are you daft?

    • -1

but it's attached to the desk via a Tarzan swinging arm duh
letting you reclaim precious footprints so you can put more on your desk, unlike most monitors who cannot think innovatively, still make them with huge legs that spread on your table like elephantisis.

    • +4

Yeah with IPS display, nice size and USB C

Some of us really couldn't care less about games anymore.

      • Yeah the USB C is very good for WFH and this is still a nice monitor for non-competitive gaming, like on a PS5. The HDR works pretty nice, very noticeably better than a SDR panel.

  • This or the Dell one? G3223Q?

    • +1

If you need a higher refresh rate and don't care about a monitor arm, get the Dell. This is a nice productivity monitor with a premium monitor arm.

      • Would appreciate feedback on which is better for colour accuracy, if possible!

        • +2

I don't own the Dell but the LG provides a "Display Quality Assurance Report" in the box. It says that LG has calibrated the monitor before factory release. I have no complaints about the colours although I don't do sensitive colour work.

        • +1

The colour accuracy is excellent, and passes the tests I execute on it using my x-rite calibrator, but the difference between this and top end eizo monitors is the white uniformity. However I doubt that Dell would be much better.

    • I got Dell G3223Q for $500 earlier this year…I would had definitely grabbed this for same price. I don't game much and I like the monitor arm on this. Also, this one has USB-C.

  • +4

This is the same price in harvey Norman. Just just wait for ow price best to tomorrow if hn price does not end tonight

    • +1

Good idea but I'd purchase through Amazon first and cancel/return if it can be price beat at Officeworks

    • solid idea…might be able to stack my 5% staff discount too.

    • If you go that route, I'd recommend ringing the local store to see if the orders getting processed.

I did a click and collect last night and called them in the morning and they said it was a good thing I called.

Someone from sales on the floor sheepishly provided the excuse that there is a lot of orders for it, and later commented that there aren't many left.

  • +1

    Good price for this monitor

  • Thanks OP. Got 2

  • daisy or not?

    • daisy

  • +1

    Is this the glossy one?

    • +1

      No

      • Aww I been looking a glossy monitor, cheers though

        • So far the only glossy monitors are from LG TV line which can be used as monitors, Philips 34" QD OLED, AW3423DW/DWF QD OLED, or the LG Ultrafine 4K/5K (not ergo) and some from Dough (would avoid them for their shady past).

          • @thesmartone1125: you missed the Studio Display and Pro Display XDR

            • @porea: Well if you’re going the Apple route, then yes. But they are so expensive.

  • Must be clearing out stock for an update.

  • Reviews online are mixed.

Tempted for work. For word, Excel, Outlook, teams and other boring apps.

    Will this hold up?

    • +1

Yes, it's a fantastic productivity monitor.

    • You'd be very happy especially at this price

    • +2

      Alright, thanks guys.

      I was looking at the
      Dell S2722QC 27" 4K UHD 60Hz USB-C Monitor $359.52 or the
      Dell S3422DWG 34" Curved Gaming Monitor $473.43
To be stacked with the Amex 10% Cashback.

I suppose for a bit more this would be the better option for work.
I already have the Dell S27DSG21 (I think I mucked that up) and want another display.

      Just ordered. Delivery on Wednesday.

  • Does anyone know what modes this monitor has. E.g. ePaper or reading mode

Is this monitor also good for movies?

    • +1

      Picture modes

      • Custom
      • Vivid
      • HDR Effect
      • Reader
      • Cinema
      • sRGB
      • DCI-P3
      • FPS
      • RTS
      • Color Weakness
      • Calibration 1
      • Calibration 2

For an IPS monitor, movies are good. It won't match a OLED screen with real HDR though.

  • No auto input switch is a deal breaker for me.

    • +5

What do you mean by auto input switch?

    • Do you mean a KVM switch?

      • Auto input switch = monitor automatically chooses the active input source. Very useful when you have two or more devices connected to your monitor.

        • even my 2010 tv does that, i think ppl simply don’t need to advertise that anymore.

  • Another good option is LG 43SQ700S which is $750. For 43 size and lg webos.

  • +3

Just noticed the price remained unchanged . Now showing Black Friday sale!

  • +3

    Didn't expire!

    • +1

true - I bought it after midnight

  • What's so special about this monitor?

    I already ahve 32" 144hz 2k
    32" 60hz but VA

Is this IPS monitor that much nicer?

I have a dell 27" 4K IPS and the colour just seems nicer.

  • already have one (same model), and considering buying a second one…

    • +1

      You deserve it

  • So good the panel

  • I’ve been using a Dell S2722QC 27" 4K UHD 60Hz USB-C Monitor for the last 2 years. Is this LG monitor a sensible upgrade?

I’m wanting it for business and web browsing mostly. No gaming.

    • I was thinking of buying your Dell.
      Bought this instead.
      Who know why.

    • Yes. I am going to do the same upgrade. 32"!

  • I just bought a 4k 32’ monitor for $400 (32UN550-W)…

Does anyone know if this one posted is substantially better than the 32un550 for $100 extra. Might buy this one and resell the other.

    • base on the spec, I think 100 is a worth to upgrade.

  • trying to justify this purchase…. i mean i can return if i dont like it right?

  • Does it include a regular tabletop stand or only the “ergonomic” clamp stand?

    • +1

      Clamp only

  • +6

Managed to get OW to price match it down to $473.10. With discounted GCs, it is quite a solid deal. Thanks OP!

    • +2

and to think I wasn't going to post cause there was one post 19 hours ago for 598… and I contact the OP to change it.

    • Hmmm, the ozbargainer in me says to chase it and cancel with Amazon.
Bird in hand. But I can't be bothered. :(

      • I would've purchased it from Amazon too especially as I have plenty of credit loaded on my account, but it is easier to source OW discounted GCs and for larger discounts too.

    • Hi, OW shows this monitor is online only, how did you manage to price beat it? thanks

  • damn, should have waited

  • darn i thought is that 5k one that Apple store sell before.

  • from a colour accuracy and productivity perspective, this or the G3223Q? Both of them have 95% DCI-P3. Thanks

    • I don't think you'd go wrong with either.

Both claim to have excellent colour accuracy and come pre-calibrated, despite being aimed at different markets.

I went with the LG for the price, including the great stand. It also has USB C connection with power supply for laptops, and built in speakers (which admittedly probably aren't awesome).

In comparison, the Dell has a much higher refresh rate, higher brightness (which might improve HDR), and an LED downlight. All things that gamers are likely to prefer.

For my WFH purposes, the LG looks like a great choice at this price. If you're likely to game on it and don't need the stand, the Dell might be the better option for you.

      • +1

I only game occasionally and I already have a dual monitor arm. I think I will go with LG for the price. Thanks for your help.

      • the usb can handle pd? i thought it didnt. now i can justify this purchase :)))))))))))))))))

        • Ha, your welcome! :)

FYI, the power delivery is up to 60W, so I can't use it with my own laptop, which requires 130W.

Still it's a nice to have and means I don't also need separate connections for screen and data.

    • +1

I just wrote this in the other post.

I don't have a G3223Q to compare, but I have an x-rite i1 display. I tested this monitor, and found that the luminance uniformity is off, about a 10% difference across the screen, so you can have 160 cd/m2 in the centre and have 140 cd/m2 in the bottom left and right corners. However the Delta E values are good, about < 2%-4%.

This is unsurprising, even monitors twice this price have these issues, so at this prices it's a bargain!

  • I bought a Dell Refurbished S3221QS, it sends me a 24" instead. They are investigating the issue. Whatever the outcome, I will return it back and refund. Lucky I saw this deal, I have ordered 2.

  • This is not sold at JB Hi Fi
Officework is online only, so you can only price beat online and cannot pay via gift card

    • +4

i walked into OW today to price match actually after cancelling my amazon order. I paid with partial (ultimate gift card) gc & Credit card.

Total price was $473.10 - if you have a staff discount it doesn't stack unfortunately.

      • It says online only on ow website?

        • +3

they can still process the price match on it in-store allowing you to pay however…might depend on the GC you are using? It all gets delivered for click and collect at your nominated store.
