  • is this better than frame tv?

  • +3

this is a great mid-range tv. For this price it's probably the best value 75"

    • +1

Sony X85k or L is better in pretty much every department

      • Yes and besides this is not even FALD, bad viewing angles except front on

    • +3

It's a terrible TV. To have a QLED TV that's sidelit is a crime

      • I also read that it has severe light bleed on the edges. I haven't seen the TV just what I read. The only positive seems to be Samsung brand and 75" at a great price.

I have seen the 845 both in 75 and 85 inches and it was glorious. I saw it in different shops. The blacks were incredible.

        • I recently picked up the 75" Sony X90L and don't regret it!

    • Mid range is being generous

  • +2

I purchased one today, after seeing it mentioned in the other 85” deal posted but only got 10% loyalty discount so paid $1350.

In hindsight, asking for a 15% discount instead of a ‘loyalty discount’ would’ve been the way to go. Still happy with the price but an extra 5% would’ve been nice!

    • Hi mate how did u pay $1350. I am trying to buy 85" and its coming $2509 after 10% discount. If i chat and they give me 15% discount, it will still be $2132…🤔

      • +3

        They got the 75"

        • +1

Oh K. Make sense. Thanks for clarification..🙏

      • Sorry I was referring to the 75” as chriise mentioned.

  • Should I wait for a deal on the QN85C or just pull the trigger

  • +2

Price in title should exclude trade in amount

  • For such a huge screen, how far away do you need to sit and watch?

    • 2.5 to 3 m works good for me

      • 2.5 to 3 m works good for me

        Same here no problem.

    • +1
      • Damn, this says I should have a 55" TV and I have that, I wanted bigger but I guess you just saved me some money

        • +1

Just because some site tells you to sit a certain distance, it shouldn't stop you from getting a large screen.

Aside from really ridiculous sizes I'm sure most would agree when they actually sit in front of a screen, bigger is better.

We have a fairly small lounge and the 55" we're meant to use according to calculations looks like a TV for ants (compared to the 75" we have).

      • Thanks, I don't have such space😂

  • +1

Do yoi really have ti send the old TV in for trade in? How does it work? Is it like a hack with JB hifi?

    • +5

According to the site you have to drain the TV first! 🤣

      1. Tell us about the TV to be recycled, apply the discount and then check out

      2. Fully uninstall your old TV (including draining) ready for collection (no packaging required)

      3. We will collect your old TV when we deliver your new one

      • +1

does it have to be a samsung working TV?

      • What is draining a TV????

        • +1

You have to drain the liquid in the crystal displays for safe transport. Any leak could start a bushfire

    • +1

It states they pick it up when TV delivered. Bargain as mine would have gone to landfill.

      • +1

Mine is on its last legs as well. Just needs to last another 10 days and it’s done its job.

  • How does this compare to tcl c845?

    • +2

Dont own a c845, but paper specs its better. Mini led, brighter.

I got a smaller q70, netflix and disney plus is unwatchable on the native apps. It tries to hdr but it just cant, everything is super dark

      • Thanks for your response. Tough decision on whether to wait for tcl deal or go for this.

        • +3

Waiting for tcl, specs are better.

        • I’m in the same dilemma

          • @Jit0809: Is the $800 difference really worth it?

            • @Robbo014: It can be had for 1700.

            • @Robbo014: I got the c845 75” for $1800 including delivery last week from TGG

              • @Bryton: How? I am waiting for c845 to drop. How did you get 75 one with such good price?

                • @OzzyBoy1: Got the C845 75" for just under $1700 on ebay just now - factorydirect-au
Only a couple left so won't post the deal.

                  • @Pete Gabitas: I found the same deal, but thinking if I should get it, as it's from a not really big retailer… They don't have high rating neither.

                    • @tadinhah: Mine arrived within a cpl hours already. I think they are boxed damaged as dinner of the foam packaging was broken. I've not properly inspected or turned it on yet. Will do that on the weekend when I get it mounted and let you know.

              • @Bryton: Let us know how you got that price please.

                • +1

@Pete Gabitas: pulled the trigger on 85c845 through a friend for $2400 delivered.

                  • @Jit0809: Nice. That seems like a great price for the 85" version. I'd be tempted myself at that price. Good luck with it.

    • +2

TCL is better. Samsung TV's quality has hugely declined since the Q70R. How they have a 'QLED' that's sidelit is embarassing

  • Can anyone get onto the live chat painful

    • Yes very easy in the morning and very good experience. They were nice and patient.

  • Wouldn't offer the 15% loyalty only 10%

  • +1

It is showing as $1788 for me not 1608 does anyone knows why?

    • +1

You need to download samsung shop app. First order is 10% off. Applied at check out.

      • Mine was only 5% on first order. Must be because they know I’m on IOS 🤣

        • +1

The 10% discount ended on 31st December. I think its 5% now onwards.

          • @ozshaz: Bugger. My own fault for being indecisive. 🤷‍♂️

  • anything similar for 85 inch?? this looks like great bargain.

  • i was about to purchase this for 1745 so cracking deal ! purchased

  • Just tried the chat, not offering the 15%

    • Same here tried 2 agents

      • +1

Same. Will wait for TCL. heard too many bad things about all things Samsung (except for phones) anyway.

  • I am only getting 10% not 15%.
Can I stack the coupon for 10% and still get the 10% first purchase discount via the Samsung app

    • This will work I have done it

  • Quantum dot?

  • Definitely go the TCL miniled. Great TV's

  • Got offered 10 only

  • Got 15% eventually and its not out of stock FFS
edit: going for a tcl c845

    • Hey HSP - I can't seem to get a voucher (no Samsung products, and getting stuck with a couple representatives) - any chance I can steal yours for a different purchase? I'd be eternally grateful :)

      • Sorry mate, coupon showed as already redeemed even tho i never used it 🙃

        • No probs, thanks anyway. stuck here in my Samsung free world, not having much luck.

  • Got it! Thanks.

    To make the process smooth:

    1) Register an account in app (if you don't hv)
    2) Ask 15% voucher in chat in Samsung Shop app (don't do so in web, they won't give you voucher applicable to app's discount)
    3) Trade in $100: I submitted my very old TV(other brand with perfect screen) below 43', indicate can't turn on anyway. I expect they could accept it

    • You mean to say ask for the discount through app chat ? Also did they ask you for any previous Samsung device details for the discount to be given ? Thanks !

      • Yes you need to give evidence including photos to get the discount. I got 10 percent.

      • no, mine is a new account. asked in Chat@App, and he generated the 15% off vouncher applicable to me.
I guess have to try your luck, different representative vary.

my first try was in Web, and the 1str guy rejected to generate one applicable to App purchase.
So I suggest you to ask in App Chat.

    • I had a very old old LG TV, no proof of purchase, still turning on, will it be accepted?

      • +1

        Yes

      • I'm going to return my dick smith never-turn-on-TV. guess they would accept it given the description in the purchase.

  • Gone. Can't add to cart. Damm

    • Yes its 75" but all reviews I read and saw including on here, its not such a great TV except for the size. Thats why I didnt buy mine when I could have got it for 1350

  • +1

Very tempting, I had it on cart with the discount code, but did not buy. Holding out for the TCL C845 for $1500 or so.

  • Oos

  • I keep getting told the 10% and 15% codes dont stack

  • Not related to TV, but is anyone noticing the Samsung phones have been MIA (missing in action) from the IOS Samsung shop app for the past 1 month?

  • I got the Samsung 75inch 8000 series. worth changing over to this?

  • Good price but I'd wait for another TCL deal

  • Got JB to match at $1400 excluding $100 trade in.

    • How'd you get the deal done? Was it in store?

      • +1

Sorry, yes i did. No internet in store. Showed them ozbargain screenshot. Match or I’m walking.

    • I tried JB online yesterday. The best they could do was 1768.

  • The Samsung 75" Q70C appears out of stock from the Samsung online store. I used the chat to see if I could order it anyway but was told that I would need to either wait for new stock or buy it elsewhere (and miss out on the additional discounts).

  • Anyone feeling generous enough to share their coupon code, I don't have any Samsung gear, and can't seem to get over the hump with chat needing proof of a previous purchase.

    Would be eternally grateful :)

    • +1

Afaik the code is tied to your email and has a valid expiry date.

    • Odd that they asked for proof of product. I didn't even know about the 15% and asked for 10% and they gave me 15% and didnt even ask about proof

      • In my case,I told them I had a phone and washing machine. They insisted that I give them only the washing machine but i could not locate and the agent said sorry and disconnected.

Then I tried again and they told them I had the phone, that wanted photos of the phone and screenshot of the serial number. They authorised the 10% discount after I gave them the photos and screenshot. They also mentioned it was tied to the email address on the account.

        • Yeah, that's where I'm stuck - I've had luck with a couple of agents, but same thing, all require proof of something (which I can't provide)

Expiry isn't an issue - I'm ready to hit go today, I just need to knock another 10-15% off the price to make my purchase more palatable.

  • I’m going to trade in my old Sony 55” that has a large crack along the screen. It still works and turns on. Will they accept this? Also how do you drain the liquid from the tv?
