    Kmart milk frother mvp

  • ive had my eye on frothers since black friday and came across this one yesterday - https://www.amazon.com.au/Instant-140-6075-01-AU-Milk-Frothe….

Mixed reviews online - https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Electric-Automatic-Cappuccino… - but since it was Instant brand - I gave it a shot. Hopefully - if it stops working during warranty period Instant are responsive as opposed to some of the American reviews.

That's expensive even at 50% off

    Bellini $17.50

    Aldi $31.50

    Kmart $32

Pro tip: Baccarat deliberately inflates their RRP, so that their discount (actual) prices seem reasonable. If people purchase at the full price, then they win doubly.

Welcome to ozbargain: enjoy your time here and try your best to not become a compulsive consumer 😁

This is a better option. You can microwave it for a minute and then froth or just froth if you use it for ice coffee:

Don't quite get the appeal of these but I guess it's cheaper than replacing a machine.. personally I'd still fix the original frother or replace the machine. These are only good to get you through until you get your machine sorted.

I see baccarat, i expect a 60% discount on top of their normal discount. And then a final closing down sale of 30%

Baccarat is a known scam brand, their stores are always "closing down"

    • +3

      "everything must go", including them…

Imagine paying $70 for a milk frother. Baccarat is such a scam. They always advertise themselves as "Australian" while all they do is drop-ship shitty Chinese products.

I don't need to imagine, they can get very expensive.

There's this model from Breville at $189.

      https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/breville-cafe-milk-frother-bm…

There's this one from Smeg at $299

Some people prefer the way different milk frothers aerate or heat the milk and the results they get from these vs a standard milk frother.

They might also like the look I.e the Smeg.

Appreciate the info about Baccarat cheers.

        • Wow now thats something else.

      • I've heard the Breville one is used in actual cafes, and I have one. It works well.

        • Might depend on the definition of ‘cafe’. If they have a decent espresso machine (and a good cafe should), then the steam boiler in the machine should do a much better job anyway.

They are hardly unique in that regard.

I think we need to ban robins kitchen/house/baccarat

  • A quick google image search finds tons of these exact milk frothers from China with different branding. Baccarat are scum, pure and simple.

  • We have been through two of these, works fine until you get water in through the bottom contacts or switch holes as it is not sealed. There isnt really much of anattempt to waterproof the electrical contact area so water can get in if you accidentally tip it over during washing even briefly. The internals corrode over a month or two and then it stops working. Both were electrical failures. One acted intermittently and stopped responding, the other died as a short and caused power to trip regularly. Both were dead within 1-2 months of having them. There was evidence of corrosion of the alum internal frame structure and the steel screws and motor casing were visibly rusty too. We felt we were being careful with cleaning but obviously not careful enough for the level of waterproofing. Would not recommend. The Nespresso one with the dishwasher safe rating has been great for over a year now.
