There was a Kmart deal where these were $99… but all gone sadly!

    • Yup was a clearance which was weird because they weren't EoL or anything

  • Are these alright for live feed and night time

    • I have the Tapo doorbell, but I assume these will be very similar. To conserve battery, they only wake up when they detect motion. So they don’t continuously record, but are pretty quick load a live feed on demand. Night vision isn’t bad as far as clarity goes, but it can a few moments for the camera to wake up and realise it needs to switch to night vision.

      • Has your doorbell been going hard too? I just checked mine, it's on 92% and I bought it almost a month ago already from the 16th of Jan deal.. 😅

I installed mine on New Year’s Day and it’s currently on 24%. 2 months between charges isn’t bad, but sounds like yours is doing better. I think mine gets triggered a lot by traffic on the street. I’ve tried fiddling with sensitivity and motion detection zones, but seemed like these always caused the camera to activate well after someone had walked into the front yard.

          • @PurchaseAnxiety: Damn, that sucks.. I live in a back unit so generally only neighbours garage movement, doing gardening and when we go in/out. Thinking about it though, going by my other Kasa/Tapo cameras, I think you're right about a delay when trying to muck around with the motion zones and sensitivity.. >.<

  • Wonder how good the battery life really is. We have a Google Nest Cam under our patio, which might record some 30 events a day. It lasts 3 weeks on battery. Utterly useless.

    • I've had one up since around Christmas averaging 20-40 recordings a day and is currently at 38% battery remaining

I'm expecting to get 3-4 months life based off this

      • Do you have infrared light on for when it's dark?
It might be that we have a bit of motion, e.g. from the dog walking around.

        • Yes the IR is on for night recordings but the majority of my movements/alerts are during the day

Got a kmart one for $99, lucky me, and also found a two-pack solar panel for $25 from the orange T app that works just perfectly together

Spent $125 to build a satisfying surveillance system :-)

The battery life is not that good, definitely not 180 days. Before I got the solar panel I put the cameras in my living room and the battery dropped fast, I'd reckon 60 days in such scenarios.

Besides, it doesn't work with my NAS. The cameras are only visible to the hub.
