Are There Any Decent Croissants in Western Sydney?

I'm looking for decent croissants in western Sydney.

They've got to be buttery on the inside and crunchy on the outside.

Let me know what you recommend.

Threefold Pastry at Parramatta Station/Parramatta Square. Turn right out of the gates at the station. It's next to Harvey's Sandwiches.

They do have some fancy croissants, but the basics are excellent. It's on the pricer side but in my personal experience they've all been buttery, flakey and delicious.

Also note they aren't open on weekends.

    • Thanks. Will check it out

I’ve been there and don’t really rate them. They’re decent but not excellent.

Out of the area that you’re looking in but Penny Fours does amazing crossaints. They’re a bakery but they also supply cafes

        • Yes they are good but really looking for decent ones out west.

          • @Cam imbesi: Been a little while since I’ve had on there but Circa espresso in Parramatta used to do nice ones.

They apparently have an opened a baked goods cafe in Parra as well called Lucien which may be worth a try.

Also a touch out of the Strathfield part of your area, Buttercrumbs in five dock (it’s all they really do and you have a good chance of getting a hot one)

No Decent Croissants, No Decent Coffee…

    • OP was just after croissants not coffee

No decent coffee? We have some of the best in the world!
I agree on the croissants though. Hard to find any decent ones in Australia.

    • However, noted food critic Eddie McGuire did call it "land of the falafel".

Just along from Strathfield you have Mascot (Sydney Int Airport).

    Fly to Paris.

    Croissants @ Maison d’Isabelle

  • Tasty Manoosh

Shop 11A/1024 The Horsley Dr, Wetherill Park NSW 2164

I have no clue what their options are but the regular and the one with cheese is unreal!

  • Bourke St Bakery have a shop in Parramatta. I don't think I've ever tried their plain croissants, but most of their stuff is really good so would be worth trying.

    • That gives me two options in Parra. Might have to buy one from each place to compare. Thanks

  • Victoire at Rozelle. Top notch!

  • Cabramatta used to be the go-to place for croissant.

Wild Cockatoo Bakery in Redfern is good but not West.

    Did you try Costco?

Obscenely large for a classic croissant but certainly "buttery" (moist) on the inside and crunchy (flaky) on the outside.

    • No. Are they wrapped in plastic?

      • They are sold in translucent containers. Not sure if counts as "plastic" but certainly NOT wrapped/cling-wraped (as in hugging).
They are sold by the dozen not loose.

Last one I bought was a dozen in a flat tray.
But some two weeks ago I noticed they were packed in a kind of bucket-shaped translucent container, not a very good idea as the bottom ones are squashed by the top ones.

  • Following for options between Parra and Hills District.
