not a great ROI tbh though.

Eh?!? ROI = 100%.. it cost nothing (no annual fee). Itll only cost you if your stupid enuf not to pay off the balance with in the 6 months in whic case you will be charged interest.

      • something like This where you invest $100 to get $500 back.

      • +1

Submitting for and opening up a extra credit card can come with a cost in terms of time to do it, plus potential affect of credit score and increasing your max credit if applying for other loans.
No way worth it for me to get $50, looks like only $25 for some people.

In real dollar terms its a nil sum proposition .. applying takes 5 mins. Sure u can put a price on your time but most would be J3rking off playing video games.. plus for some who dont have any credit card (this might be their first) not having a credit card could be affecting their credit score too.. can rub both ways.. plus ppl might like 6 months interest free… no many offer than.

          • @Gavman: It doesn't rub both ways, The Australian credit score system doesn't work like the American system you don't get positive score from using credit.

            • @denserham: How does it work?

              • @johnnytran: You start with a good rating and applying for credit will make the score drop for a period of time. That is a simplification but as far as I know there is no positive effect on your score from paying bills on time and such, but you will get a negative hit from not paying bills.

There are three credit reporting agencies in aus you can sign up for wisr to see your score for experion and equifax and you can sign up with illion to see theirs all for free.

                • @denserham: Thanks, I did not know this. I have 2 credit cards and a mortgage and my score is "excellent" according to creditsavvy. I think it may have dropped a tiny bit with each credit card but once you close them I've read it goes back up.

          • @Gavman: I applied for this card recently. I had to resubmit my info a second time, followed by having to go do an identity checkin person at the post office, then after a month of waiting, multiple phone calls saying i need to verify my identity multiple times. Ended up losing my shit at them and telling them never to call me again. After all that bullshit and 2 separate enquiries to mycredit and subsequent lower score, i ended up just increasing my credit limit on my existing card. took less than 5 minutes and auto approved me to 3k. Coles can jam their card up their assholes.

      • it cost nothing

        Then ROI = ∞%

$25 for me for the same spend.

    • -1

      same. $25. lame.

      • Free cash is free cash. Doesn't matter how much it is. It's not like you have to apply for a new card to get this offer.

      • Ok. If you have $500 worth of spend to make, make sure to use a different card.

        • -2

Chill. Why so butt hurt? Didn’t get it, did you? I’m taking the $25. Just wished it was $50

  • is this a targeted offer for existing cardholders to upgrade? if so where did you see the offer via email or app or desktop log in? what's the minimum credit limit you need to upgrade to platinum? i cant see much difference between the standard and platinum card apart from the insurances? ref "Complimentary access to your 24/7 local Concierge7
Enjoy access to complimentary travel and accommodation services in major cities in Australia and around the world." what are the complimentary travel and accommodation services ? or is it just a booking service and you have to pay for it?

  • I have to spend $1000 to achieve $50 🫤

  • Miss the price protection it used to offer 😭

  • The app still doesn't work - a complete disaster of a product
