    Scrub Mommy x 3 pack is $9.99!
I bought the cat shaped Scrub Mommy though for the same price as Scrub Daddy x 3 pack.

Just note that's the essentials version, it's much thinner

The standard scrub mummy is $13.25 with one pass

        Are they sponge worthy?

    • They're a different type sponge aren't they?

  • Thanks OP, Just bought a 'Dish Daddy' and some replacement pads.

    • +2

It is great quality compared to most other similar products I've tried, I don't care about the smiley face gimmick.

Feel free to put forward a brand that is as high or higher quality than this

      • +1

Run At Me Bro and its essential version, Cuzzie Bro.

      • +1

Err the smiley face is / are basically finger holes so you can hold it more effectively

        • The mouth is good for cleaning knives etc too.

But the main reason I like it is the material

These sometimes go on sale at Coles for $4 each. Been meaning to try them but have been held off because I’ve read that they shed a lot of micro-plastics which can’t be good for the environment and can be easily ingested by humans once they end up in our water supply. Can anyone confirm or have other information?

If you’re looking for a good scrubber I recommend White Magic. By far and away the best I’ve used. They are also made of cotton rather than plastic.

      https://www.whitemagic.biz/product/scrubtastic-flat-pot-scru…

      • Any suggestions on where to buy?

      • +2

So basically just use a cotton rag

        • Can’t say I’ve tested a cotton rag personally, but this scrubber is highly effective at removing stuck on food with very little effort.

We were sick of going through non stick frypans even with taking good care of them, so we switched to an enamelled cast iron pan. This has worked great except for some things like eggs which tend to stick. The scrubtastic makes light work of it.

      • then you have to worry about micro-cottons.

        • Cotton biodegrades in a matter of months in landfill while plastics take in the order of hundreds of years if ever.

    • They are always $3.99 at Chem warehouse

      • +1

        why pay more

        • if you just want to try one instead of three haha i was replying to the guy saying that coles has them for $4 sometimes

I prefer to get coconut fibre scrubbers, which can often be found on eBay at a reasonable price (e.g. $12.50 delivered for a 6-pack). I like how it can go into the compost when it wears out.

      • That is a great suggestion. How long do they last?

        • As with most things, it depends on how much you use it. I get a couple of months from light to normal use on most non-stick or enamelled cookware. It can take a little more elbow grease to shift really stubborn stuff, but I find if you pre-soak for a while first in very hot water that normally takes care of the majority of the baked-on food or I tackle it with a wooden scraper. For the one all-metal pan that I own I use a stainless steel chainmail cloth (also from eBay).

    I actually find these great!
For some reason I can't really explain, I wanted these to be crap, but I find them much better than the rough green side of a scrubber yet not as harsh as steel wool.

    • +1

My wife got some, probably saw them on TikTok or something. Was annoyed at first as we already have too many types of cloths/sponges, but was pleasantly surprised. The shape is really good for certain things too, like cleaning the inside of pots.

  • I never used this, what's the advantage compared to this much cheaper https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/0000000000… ?

    • +3

These don't disintegrate after a week of use

        • +2

They do end up shedding after a while as well.

I prefer scrub daddy/mommy over regular sponges, but I think they end up costing the same.

  • +21

No, I don't want no scrub. A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me.

    • A daddy on the other hand…

  • +1

Who ever thought of this name.. and then for it actually approved is a bloody genius.!

    • It was on shark tank US a long time ago

The Ring doorbell story is much more fascinating to me anyway.

  • After some opinions: how long do you keep using one sponge for?

    • A scrubba is meant to be ridden hard and hung up wet

    • About 12 months

  • +1

    Thanks OP. Lemon scented. 😀

  • The last Scrub Daddys I bought with OnePass (I think shipped via Kmart) were half the thickness of my previous ones. Shrinkflation!

    • +1

there is an essentials version (thinner) and a standard version (standard). Not shrinkflation, you just bought the cheap version

      • I'm glad you cleared this up for me. I was so disappointed.

  • -1

    Basically an over priced scourer.

  • I've never used these products, but I saw a range of them at my local Reject Shop, if that's helpful. I don't remember the pricing, but they have several listed on their website:

    • Every scrub is now xxxx Daddy

  • +1

It's funny I was watching shark tank video of the product yesterday and today I see the product on ozbargain.

  • -4

Soon they will be giving these away. Who thought it would be a good idea to make little face sponges and it would sell. Maybe for the local child care centre

    • You are very, very wrong.

    • +2

Username doesn’t check out (mine does)

    Hey daddy you’re a scrub

  • +4

I call these things the scrub father (much to the annoyance of my wife, which is a bonus) because IMO no respectable product aimed at adults should have the word 'daddy' in it.

Anyway, these things are decent and really helped clean dirt and silicone from my hands after a recent gutter replacement job but I prefer the scour father for my main uses as it's basically chainmail over a sponge.. nice and malleable whilst being insanely tough

    • +1

Agreed, the scour ‘fathers’ are a top bit of kit.

  • I really like the sponge on the scrub mummy, does anyone know what type of sponge they use? Any cheap alternatives?

  • +1

Never heard of these before and don't really need but I bought anyway, my trust in the Ozbargain consensus is strong.

  • 13.95 for me

  • The delivery ($6.95) kinda kills the deal
