Qantas Market Place - DeLonghi Magnifica Fully Automatic Coffee Machine

Currently Qantas Market place is doing this for 92,750 points with RRP of $629.

I can also see it for $488.93 through my jb hifi commercial site via my superfund.

Keen to get an entry level automatic machine at home, not fussed with milk frothing and want low maintenance. I drink my coffee normally black and for functional purposes rather than for taste.

Just want see people’s thoughts on this machine and if it is worth me parting my points or purchase it.

92,750 points for something you can go spend $490 on cash is horrible value, not that much better than gift cards.

Any reason you're not going a drip coffee machine? They're the perfect caffeine delivery system.

      You must be American…

Agreed. Since you normally drink it black, I reckon something like a Moccamaster would be better suited to you. They are incredibly well built machines. I've used mine almost every day for the past 4 years.

    • That requires preplanning - I normally just want a press and go before going into work - right now using an ALDI pod machine

Maybe just stick with the pod machine. Nothing is more convenient than than what you're currently using. I feel like you'd be just throwing away your points buying this auto.

If you prepare the Moccamaster before you go to bed. It takes about 3 minutes to brew in the morning, Much better coffee than a capsule or a semi automatic.
I would use those QFF points for a business class flight from Dubai to Europe.

  • I too like my partner functional, low maintenance and free from frothing.

    • Do you like it black too?

  • a french press is the improved version of a drip filter machines. Machines are good if you want 10 cups but if you just need one, then save $400 and use a french press.

OP i drink nothing but black coffee (no milk, no sugar). Usually double shot with extra water (but not quite long black).

Anyway, i have a manual breville barista express for years. Got this Delonghi automatic for $440 from last deal.

It's super easy, pretty awesome to just press a button. no mess (compared to manual which loses a lot of grind).

The taste isn't as good as manual. BUT after a few weeks I've adjusted and forgotten about the original taste difference.

biggest annoyance is that the "double shot" button is not actually double coffee - just more water. Which means i have to press the single shot twice for my coffee. but it's all so quick and easy, but a big deal.

I've got grind set at about 3, and strength on maximum.

water tank is mediumish/small. it purges water when turning on and off so it goes through the water quickly.

so all in all, if you want a super easy, super clean, machine that makes a black coffee, and you're NOT a coffee snob, it's great.

but in your case, I'd buy it in cash/ gift card, not points cos that's a rip off!
