Another upcoming AliExpress coupon sale as predicted earlier for those who enjoy AliExpress and haven't blocked my posts. These coupon codes should be sitewide like all other recent sales.

As usual expect the high value coupons, i.e. US$50 off US$369 to expire more quickly. Lately AliExpress have been renewing codes as they've been exhausted so hopefully the same happens here.

Coupons are 1 per account, do not stack with the new user 'Welcome Offer', "Limited Deals" and minimum spend excludes GST and shipping.

$3 $29 AEDF29
$8 $69 OUTDOOR8

How to get the AU$ price in the title with PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

    and haven't blocked my posts

Hm, something to consider… You ARE the biggest contributor to my OzB impulse purchases of late…

    • +6

Yes because you'll really want this M.2 SSD car enclosure because of how cool it looks.

      • No, I don't. Even at $8 off.

        • +5

          I wasn't asking you 😜

      • The colour palette is a little tacky, but if there are more variations to choose from…

      • Red makes the ssd go faster.

I'd be scared if they sold a knife shaped enclosure though.

        • You get to source your own red with a knife-shaped enclosure…

  • The coupon discounts got smaller for this sale. Is it worth waiting for a higher discount in the near future?

      • I guess Ali doesn't have much spare money to throw away like Temu. Ma is very headache for a while by the 60% fall in stock in the last few years.

  • +6

Hang on @Clear are you saying that if I search on aliexpress with AUD set as I usually do, then I pay using a fee-free credit card, I am paying more than if I did it with site set to USD and paying via paypal with the same card?

    • +8

Yes that's correct. Because the AUD rate will be AliExpress' rate and that'll likely be worse than the actual exchange rate your card would use.

      • +1

dang, thanks. Wish I'd known this a couple of months ago when I spent up big.. will probably be a few years before I spend that much again

        • There is a slight twist to it though. In the event of a return / refund, you will need to bear the exchange rate difference. Sometimes that's a plus, but sometimes not.

          • +1

@netsurfer: Because of my currency trading among other things I often have USD sitting in PayPal and use that for my AliPurchases. Good for the very rare time I need to dispute a lost package.

            • @Clear: Currency trading, crypto mining, why are you still posting on OZB? Shouldn't one of your secretaries be doing the posting for you?

              • +1

@netsurfer: Would you get other people to perform your hobbies in your stead?

                • @anonym: For AliExpress deals, yes, I much prefer Clear does it. It is so confusing with store coupon, discount code, coins.

              • +3

@netsurfer: The real question is how do I find the time to post on OzBargain when I have a 6 day work week totalling around 60 hours. Gotta pay those bills.

      • +1

@Clear could u share more details on this with us? I'm kinda lost

        • +6

If you take Clear's example item above, the item price is US$59.90.
Using Mastercard conversion rate calculator with 0.00% bank fee as an example, then the amount your card will be charged is:

1 United States Dollar = 1.539171 Australian Dollar
Your transaction amount of 59.90 USD = 92.20 AUD in your card currency

But if you switch the currency on the AliExpress website to AUD, then the item costs AU$95.37, which is $3.17 (3.44%) more expensive than the USD price.

If your credit card charges an international transaction fee as well (some charge it for transactions processed in a foreign country even if it's in AUD), then you're being doubly charged the AliExpress bad exchange rate and bank fee.

          • +3

@highwind: There has been instances where using AUD is beneficial - when you are just a tiny bit below a coupon or cashback threshold and can't be bothered finding a rubbish $1-2 item to buy 😂😂

      • What about those without fee free cards, would it b3 better to pay in AUD or USD?

        • +1

Macquarie bank transaction account is free to open and maintain and has international fee free debit card. You'll need it for instances like this and travelling abroad.

        • +1

If you don't have a no international transaction fee card, you need to do the calculation to work out whether your credit card provider gives you a much better exchange rate than AliExpress' exchange rate to also offset the international transaction fee.

It's not that clear cut to be honest. A lot of the fee free cards are debit cards and they are fee free because you don't get any interest. Furthermore, a strong AUD would make a bigger difference. Generally, a big discount from the seller on the item itself saves you the most. If you missed that big discount event, even if you paid in USD without any fee and better exchange rate, you will still be worse off.

        • You need to check your card's T&Cs.
Credit cards tend to charge an international fee if it's in a foreign currency or if the transaction was processed overseas. In this case, you're better off sticking with USD - you get slugged ~3% transaction fee, but on a cheaper item price.
Debit cards sometimes only charge if it's in a foreign currency but don't care where it's processed. In this case, YMMV, as you have a higher item price when paying AUD, but without the ~3% transaction fee. Paying in USD has a cheaper item price but ~3% transaction fee…

  • Is this code applicable on any mobile purchases regardless of the seller?

I am eyeing on Redmi 13 pro or rugged phone to order.

    • I don't know for certain until the sale is live.

      • Thanks…

  • +1

Does anyone know why, or at least have a theory, on why the eufy store is blocked here on aliexpress? It seems like AUS costumers are blocked from browsing their store

    • +1

Probably because they don't want to compete with the official local stockists.

  • as predicted earlier

Where'd you find out about this? 🕵️

    haven't blocked my posts

Did I miss something? Why would someone block like 20% of the deals posted.

    • -1

Haters. Jealousy. Immaturity. Inferiority/superiority complex, you could spin it both ways.

    • Where'd you find out about this? 🕵️

My longtime store association have a few stores on AliExpress ;)

  • Don't enjoy AliExpress and/or blocked Clear's posts? Savages!

    • +1

I triggered a serial whinger of a way to get around the issue of not being able to filter out AliExpress Choice products.

  • one of them is wrong. i presume the title

    US$3 off US$39, …

    $3 $29 OUTDOOR3

    • Good eye! I believe you get a free pass to remind @Clear to add tax to his deal posts 🤣

      • I caught the power users slacking off 😉

        • Too busy pondering the possibility of adding a car-shaped SSD enclosure to my collection… 🤦

          • @anonym: I'm thinking of ordering a custom JV SSD enclosure ….

            • @Clear: I'd love to see a design draft 🤣

            • @Clear: AliExpress can be confusing at time. The store coupon is different all the time, then there is the coin discount (which can also be different). Looking at an USB 4 enclosure with fan. There is a good store coupon at the moment, but Jack has also visited the store.

  • +2

Picked up a 1:24 Ferrari F1 diecast from the last sale for $32. One of the best purchases of my life. Now I have a addiction, gotta collect all the F1 models now.

    • I just looked those up and I can see why. Very cool for the price.

      • +1

Yep, that's the one. Incredibly detailed. They sell the same exact 1:24 models on the F1 store for $80

  • Anyone have the same issue where Aliexpress items that get handed to AusPost to deliver no longer get update notifications after it clears customs. I used to get the SMS and email saying "Your delivery from UCL Limited… is on its way" with the link to track it. I no longer get it at all.

    • Yep all mine that are Choice get it. UCL, Quantum H and Yto Global.

      • Strange. This Allldocube https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006412595852.html is listed as a choice product. Tracking shows 'Received by local delivery company' 2 days ago and it lists Auspost. Yet, no SMS or email sent.

        • I've only ever got the onboard for delivery test message.

        • Is that a genuine deal, reduced from $513 down to $194? I'm after a tablet for watching youtube etc and this might be ideal.

          • +1

@x x: Definitely not lol. I got mine for $165 during the previous Ali sale. Yep, the Helio G99 chipset in this tablet combined with actual real 8GB ram will be more than enough for Youtube viewing.

            • @SeanConnery: Aliexpress items are constantly discounted, the only real difference is by how much. You can either keep an eye on a product and track its price throughout the year, or use a price tracker, or simply wait for Clear to post a deal…

        • Try plug the tracking number into here and see if it gives you an Auspost tracking number as well. Sometimes will give you like 33xx type number or a YTG number (YTG ones don't track for me on Auspost, but they eventually show up in my app)
          https://global.cainiao.com/

    • Last time I used choice they delivered my package to some random address in another state, then because I'd used credits to pay for it, I got refunded nothing…

  • Reckon we'd see any good gen3 2242 SSD deals this time?

  • Is this promo code working for anyone? When I enter it in, I get this error:

This coupon code is for single use only and can't be used here

    • +2

Did you read the title or any other part of the deal besides the coupons? 😝

      • -1

I didn't. On second look, I can see the IN 2 DAYS TIME.
It's not an ideal user experience, I suppose if one requires such a careful eye.

        • Haha all good.

      • How many tax in title reminders do you think you'll get this time around? 🤣

        • Just gotta say to myself one more month. Your wallet can recover then when I'll be offline next month.

          • @Clear: Ah yes, I recall someone is planning a trip to Japan?

            • -1

@anonym: The great conbini tour. Trying every Sando and fried chicken.

              • @Clear: Oh man, fluffy sandwiches and crunchy-juicy-savory deep fried chicken pieces… Food around these parts feel really lacklustre compared to convenience stores in Japan.

Have you ever heard of japaneat by any chance?

              • @Clear: Good thing you're not making posts about Japan and don't need to calculate the tax for things there… Dunno if it's still happening, but back when Japan updated the tax from 8% to 10%, it was a nightmare. Not everything went up, and some stores were allowed to give 2-5% cashbacks depending on the store and type of item… e.g. https://www.ft.com/content/9f65302c-e40b-11e9-9743-db5a37048…

                • @highwind: I was pretty lucky when that happened as I visited August-September 2019 and got in before.

  • Do you know where I could find my own referral code to invite my friends on aliexpress?

    • +1

In the (Android) App, select Account screen (from bottom right button). There's a "Refer friends" button in the Entertainment section. There's a $$$ offer.

In the browser, select My Orders screen. There's an "Invite friends" button listed under Accounts. It then tells you to use the App, LOL!

      • yep that's what I got using the browser. Does it actually work on the app?

        • +1

Looks like it. The App offer is Share to give US $5.00, get US $3.00, with a choice of an Invite now or Share code buttons.
          1. Share your link/code, using one of the buttons.
          2. Give your friends US $5.00, once verified as new users, your friends will receive up to US $5.00 coupons.
          3. You get US $3.00, once their order is confirmed.
It's not very generous, but it's there.

          • +1

@BigBirdy: thanks a lot! I'm gonna do a short video about one of their product cause my friends asked a lot of questions about it.

  • So juding by the link provided the ubank debit card should work with this

  • Is it really site wide? I am already seeing stuff with discounts included waiting to activate tomorrow e.g.

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005909043197.html?spm=a2…

    but others don't have it:

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005969809819.html?spm=a2…

does it mean no specials on some stores?

    • Who knows wait and see.

Both the lowest value codes are unavailable right after they go active.
And all the prices in my cart has gone up.

  • +2

I just added a few items to my cart. Came to $30.01 USD. At first I didn't think the coupon code worked, then I realized it was neutralizing the 10% Tax that was added at the end (Temu in comparison seems to price the GST into each of it's items).

  • Added something to my cart, came back 10 mins later, price had gone up $30 USD.

  • looks like Jack Came to the Sale as well ….

picked up a Nuc …. but some of those Choice offers have been raised

even got a pop up for some things earlier Saying order now before "price Rise"

  • Miyoo Mini Plus comes to $63.60 delivered.
R36S is also a great price at about $50 delivered.

    Ryzen 7 5700X3D for $188.29US delivered, just got 🙂

Edit: Ah balls, should have searched again, could have been another $5 less here: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006536319491.html

    • Is it really worth the reduction in clockspeed over even the 7700, also on AliExpress for a similar price?

      • Considering I have 32Gb of DDR4 ram and a B550 board, yep it's totally worth it :)

        • Ah fair enough

  • +1

    Rocoren 200W 8 Port Charger (6x USB-C & 2x USB-A) for US$31.34 (~A$48.50) with coupons 3ROCOREN and OUTDOOR3

Edit: Go to the store page and there will be a US$5 off US$20 coupon available if you follow the store. This brings it down to US$29.14 (~A$45.09) and using AliExpress coins US$27.29 (~A$42.23).

An impressive spec'd charger that's capable of 100W PD on a single USB-C port and even with all 8 ports in use it's still able to deliver 65W via a single USB-C port. The downside is that you need to supply your own figure 8 cable.

I'm not posting as a deal because I don't want to deal with the Heymix comment shit.
