    $2 for Postage/Handling.

      • this needs to be answered!

      • +2

yeah just tried with a random bank, it really doesnt care.

  • That was way back in March, still a good deal. Bought a pair to go and see Skyfall!

  • tried to buy for the second time, it said SUSPECTED FRAUD!

    f***

  • Bought. Order in the low 200's and apparently 365 available, so more than half gone (potentially)

  • Side question, who's still to receive the MotherCare $50 voucher?? I haven't got it!

    • Really? Been ages lol…

    • Received mine a couple of weeks ago and had already given it to a friend who's expecting. You'd better check with AMEX.

    • Got it and spent it last week. ;-)

  • Can someone explain to me the benefits of Gold Class, I had a look on the Event Cinemas website and it seems you just get more comfy seats and the opportunity to have a waiter serve you overpriced food.

So what's the appeal, is there anything else included?

    • Better seats. 20 people in the cinema.

How awesome are the Big Sundae specials!

or you can just download the latest 1080p mkv movie from your internets. And watch it there :)

      • What specials? i only go for the sundaes, please tell me more!

    • +1

Not really, just more of a private room, with approximately 32 oversize recliner seats for you to lie back and watch a movie without anyone directly in front of you obstructing your view.

I personally only use it for long movies as it's much more comfortable.

You are not required to order anything, maybe just grab the usual popcorn and sit back and enjoy the movie? Seeing how each of these tickets are almost the same price as an adult ticket!

    • Thanks, no deal for me.. not paying extra for a comfy chair.

      • Yeh true… just BYO couch cushions if you want extra comfort ;)

        • -2

Someone seems to go through and neg every post that says they probably wont purchase the deal.

  • yay got one, you don't have to select a bank on the actual purchase page either

  • 327! smell this getting ozbargained soon… like last time!

  • Registered, but $20.50 seems like a mighty high price to pay for a movie considering I can pay $8 at the local… I'll let someone else take this one.

    • +2

I'd take a $20 Gold Class seat vs $8 crappy local anyday of the week

    • +1

Great to take out your girl on a date. They will think you shelled out and you may get lucky. Or if you're married I'm sure your wife will love it.

$8 local = have fun watching movies in a packed cinema full of school kids over the new 2-3 months.

Ozbargain: live like a king on a pauper's budget.

      • mmm… my wife would think it's even less of a deal than me. She's used to her local $3 movie place in Canada.

        • Most women don't worry about getting a bargain when you take them out on dates… But maybe she is also a fellow ozbargainer

  • 337 here

tickets are valid to 30 march 2013

  • 358 here..:)

  • 355

$20 per ticket is still worthy imo.

  • In Melb, Mon-Wed it's $20 a ticket anyway.

    • Not anymore… At least with this you can use it anytime, any session up till March 2013

      • Depeding on the day and time, Gold Class prices do differ, It can be as cheap as 28$ or as expensive as 39$. I guess the times where they dont get sold out, they try to attract more customers.

  • Surprisingly it's still here…not for too much longer though.

  • Hmmm… I'm 370, but got email confirmation saying it will be delivered in 28 days.

    Only 365 available?!?

  • Your order number is: 383

  • Mind if I ask what makes Gold Class worth paying $39 for? Is it just better seats?

    • Scroll up, I asked the same question.

    • It's not.

The seats are very comfy and recline, but other than that, you're just paying more to get overpriced food and drinks delivered to you. It costs $5 for a tiny bowl of shoestring fries which you can get from Maccas for $2. Two non alcoholic drinks cost me $13. My friend spent $49 on drinks. Any money we saved from cheap tickets they made back double. The prices of other food (selection is very limited) is about 4x what they would cost outside. Mini pizza is about $15. Same for two mini burgers.

I'm actually amazed the serving girls could deliver drinks to people in the dark without spilling anything or tripping over.

BTW, eating in the dark is not that easy… They will supply you with a cloth. Use it. Or you'll drip stuff on your clothes. -.-

It's an upper class service, so if you don't buy anything you'll look like a cheap skate.

I got the previous deal with Amex in May $39 for 4 tickets plus I got two free when I complained about another deal that didn't work and left me out of pocket. I've been twice now. It's overrated, and definitely not worth $39. Would I go for $20? Yes.

I think that if they sold the gold class tickets for the same price as normal tickets, they'd make more than they do now from GC. More patrons means more people buying expensive drinks. That's where they make most of their profits. If you think they make a killing at the candy bar, GC bar puts the candy bar to shame.

If you think the cinemas lost money because you bought GC tickets for $10 or $20, think again. They make an overall profit from you at the bar.

      • If you sell GC tickets at a lower price you get a demographic that isn't likely to purchase drinks/foods/extras as those willing to pay full price GC tickets.

You shouldn't be made to feel like a cheap skate if you dont order anything. Plenty of people dont eat or drink during a movie. That's not so much a problem with GC but rather how you perceive yourself (staff wont be laughing at you if you dont order anything).

  • Think i will pass as well, not that great a deal. Technically twice as much as a standard ticket since you can get them through various methods for around 11$. Much prefer the earlier deals.

    • +2

Except that Optus have closed that loophole that pretty much every OzBargainer has abused the daylights out of…

      • yeah. closed it altogether actually, they are with hoyts now.

        • Rygdes still works, but you gotta pay $1 booking fee

        • -1

Right so i get negged for saying that i preferred the previous deal as that was twice as good as this deal?

There is a booking fee on gold class tickets which are far more than 1$. so you have to take that into account. Rydges is available for everyone. Plus there are all sorts of other methods of getting cheap tickets. The other issue is my Gold Class tickets i bought from a similar offer like this expire on march 2013 as well, same as these tickets except i bought mine about 6 months ago.

  • 426 thanks op

    1. Still going. Thanks op.
  • 462 Thanks :)

      • I got mine yesterday :)
