I spotted this on Weatherzone's Facebook page, it started today and ends sometime after Christmas, as per below.
From their Facebook post:
Weatherzone Plus for iPhone and Android on sale for only 99c!
We've had a great year at Weatherzone and to say thanks we've put Weatherzone Plus on sale right through the Christmas period.
Have a Great Christmas and dont get caught out in the weather :)

I have been using this app on both Android and iPhone for nearly 2 years, very handy & informative.

+1 voteThere's an overview of the features of Plus here: http://apps.weatherzone.com.au/weatherzone-plus/
Removal of Ads. High res / better maps, more frequent info, push notification (iPhone only). I generally recall having more 'user options' but its been a while since I used the free one to remember all differences.
Edit: The full list of extras are listed on each of the respective Stores.

Well I got it mainly to support the developers as I have been using the free version for years. But there are a few features that I really like and use much (e.g. 18 hour forecast) and I also feel it is a much better app overall.
Don't forget you can buy and if you don't like you can ask a refund within 15 minutes - that's what I did with Pocket Weather :-)

-1 voteCurrently, for Android, Pocket Weather is twice the price ($1.99) - is it twice as good? The description looks promising though at face value most features look the same or very similar to WZ plus. I don't think I wanna pay for a second weather app. It's a shame they don't offer a free version.
elitistphoenix on 18/12/2012 - 21:36 ¶"Iphone only" x over 9000… would buy it if they go serious about android.
snappy1234 on 20/12/2012 - 07:11 ¶Got given a woolies prepaid credit card last year for Xmas…has been handy for google play all year :)
snappy1234 on 20/12/2012 - 07:23 ¶one thing i noticed in the local radar -the settings don't retract and give me full screen…(so the suburb i live in is hidden underneath)kinda annoying…when i pinch/zoom i can see it-but then the perspective is out.

I use the free version and it's great.
What annoys me about it though is that the location doesn't auto-update and stays on your preset location.
