expired Nintendo 3DS - $119 at DSE - In Store Only

1030

I thought I'd have a look at the other consoles after seeing the ps3 deal, and I came across the original 3DS's for $119 in store with click and collect. There seems to be plenty of stock near me, so hopefully this is good nation wide.

Man, I just bought this for $149 from DSE last week !

    • +2 votes

But you also got a $20 gift card didn't you?

      • +2 votes

        still lose $10

      •

Yeah, forgot about that. $10 doesn't make me feel as bad now. Was thinking of using it with Zelda in store the other day and would've felt even worse if I had also bought it for full price of $59 the other day. Just ordered it for $40 now.

I know but it softens the blow.

  •

dumb question , but does it have any inbuilt games?

    • +2 votes

it doesn't have any proper built in games, but it does have a few apps such as face raiders

" after the poor sales of the DS Lite and DSi"

        WTF. Are you high?

Just bought one to replace my dslite I have had for 6 years great price. My 3 kids got these from Santa for Xmas they love them, I'm sure he paid considerably more than this;)

  •

I was gonna try and get JB to price match so i could use some gift cards but they have the wii for $188 and 3DS for $238, no way they will match this.

    •

I got it price matched at jb hi-fi, had a gift card for there. The girl had to check with manager but with a quick look at the dse website I was good to go. Store was garden city Perth

  •

Amazing deal. I'd be all over this if I didn't already buy one last month. All the colours do suck though. Why no white one?

As much as I dislike DSE after the last "gaming deals" scam this is a good price, If only we could run 3DS roms from R4 cards.

  • +1 vote

    The new R4i card supports 3DS :)

    • +3 votes

yes but not for 3ds roms only ds/dsi roms

    •

DSTWO card works too (for DS ROMs)

  •

Thank God I didnt get this for $229 from Target before Christmas!! Ordered for a pick up tomorrow!

Make a deal with your kids/family. Tell them they can either have their presents on 25th Dec, or tell them if they want to wait till post-25th, they can have something better / higher in value.

I think most of them will prefer to have something better.

        OzBargainers Christmas!

I bought two from two different stores but i have no hope for getting an email from the stores tomorrow. Probably dse staff would buy them or put them on ebay or something.

    •

+1 Same siutation. I also note my closest store, whom I had issue with on the "Game clearance" sale isn't even listed…

Doh! I bought one on boxing day!! :(

Did DSE have a fire sale today?

  •

What game is better, Mario land or supermario bros? The other question i have to answer is do i get one or two. I picked up two wii's @ $98 before xmas for my two boys 3 & 5.

    •

They are both good games. For a 3 & 5 year old I'd go with the New Super Mario Bros 2. I got my 4 year old daughter Super Mario Land 2 and being a 3D game she finds it a little difficult, while she zooms through the side scroller with ease.
Saying that though, you should get Super Mario Land 2 to play for yourself! It's a great game!

      •

Thanks. Got one of each and SF IV cause it was just ten bux.

  •

I got jbhifi to match at Penrith Homemaker Centre (off mulgoa rod) as well as Streetfighter for $10. I wasn't at all looking for summin like this, but seemed such a bargain. I'm keen for Mariokart… ahh the good ol days on the 64 :D
So being new to this device is there anything i should know, what's all this R4 card business etc?

    • +2 votes

I too got Streetfighter for $10 (but from DSE). It was marked at $30 but scanned at $10. I also got MarioKart 7 for $40. A bit more than I should have spent but considering the 3DS was still marked as $249 in the DSE store, I figured I could afford it :-)

As far as R4 cards go, the DS games will run fine via an R4 however there is no sign of playing 'backed up' 3DS games as of yet.

Seriously, what kind of LEGIT homebrew stuff are u looking for other than pirated games…

      •

Maybe there is a legit 3ds rom loader ;)

Just picked one up, thx OP.

Seems like these days the rich buy from Ebay, while the smarts come to OzBargain…

  •

Ended up price matching at Kmart saved me a 1 hour drive but they didn't have the street fighter game I ordered at dse hopefully they will hold it for a few days.

  •

Lol, i meant legit as in good/decent website lawl.

  •

Want one BUT in the back of my mind I know that it will collect dust….

There just aren't any good games that I haven't already played in the past before (e.g. Mario, Zelda, Pokemon etc…)

    Amazing deal though.

    •

Same case here…. My DS Lite is still kicking around

  •

Bought one… plenty in the store. Got SF for $10 and Zelda for $40. Bought Mario Kart and Mario Land from Big W as well. That is all the games I want to play on the 3DS for now. Same thing happened to me with the DS Lite only bought it to play Mario Kart and Super Mario 64.

  •

Just got my DSTWO today for my 3DS that I got on Boxing Day. Works well.

DS2x86 works well in DS mode.

Any way of registering Austrlian bought consoles via Club Nintendo UK in order to obtain a free game offered in their current promotion?

FYI I tried to pricematch at 2 different JB HiFi stores (I have a gift card I need to use) and they both refused. They said that head office said they couldn't because it is an online only deal (which it isn't), too cheap, and apparently Dicksmith are closing down thus they won't match it… tsk, tsk excuses, excuses.

I used to love JB but it shits me up the wall now.

  •

Great deal, very tempting! Only thing that makes me worry about these is the battery life which by all accounts is quite short.
