Availability: BY ORDER (Not In Stock)

Please do your homework on megabuy before deciding to purchase, even recent deals posted by MB themselves haven't panned out well for everyone

What's most concerning about this particular deal is that they don't have any stock at all, not even mystery stock at a supplier is shown (which is what they normally do), so you could be in for a long wait before you see anything, if anything at all.

My apologies. At time of posting there was 5 in stock [I still had the site up on another tab]. Upon refresh I see it's as you say it is.

And on top of that, if I'd have known the reputation of MegaBuy to be that bad, I never would have posted this as a first post :( Don't hate me OzB!

arrrgg….just bought one from mwave at $78 dollars yesterday.
But to be honest, this drive can reach around 100mb/s on both read/write on my test yesterday which is faster than my cheapy($38) WD500GB usb3(<60mb read/write)also slimmer.

    • At least you actually have it, order from this mob and it's a crapshoot. This deal only works out to be 5c cheaper than what you paid anyways so nothing lost.

    • I returned a 1TB WD USB3.0 drive because it was no better than my USB2.0 drive….I am still hoping to find a fast USB3.0 drive, this looks pretty good!

  • No deal with Magabuy.

  • Here is another shop that sells it at the exact price above and same shipping: http://www.itspot.com.au/hitachi-touro-mobile-mx3-1tb-usb-30…

      • as long as people can buy it and the stock is available, who cares who's behind who :-)

        • and the stock is available

If you knew anything about these clowns you'd understand what a major sticking point those five words are.

There's a couple of links contained in my first post in this deal and here's an couple itspot links just for you.

          Happy reading.

        • I got it delivered today. Work fine.
Not sure what all the fuss is about!
People will always complain, I'm not defending itspot or anyone, but I'm entitled to express my satisfaction with this retailer, as I bought from them twice with no issues.

      • I bought from ITspot before and they are legit, in fact, I just bought this deal from them few minutes ago.

  • How's the performance compare to Seagate SGBX1000BK?

  • Hi Guys,

Thanks for posting our deal up, contrary to the haters, we have these in stock in our warehouse.

Our recent Belkin Deal was a fantastic offering… its why we sold about a thousand pieces in only a few hours… to my knowledge there are no complaints, only a few trolls who cant move on with life. :)

    MegaBuy

    • So let me get this right then, the 53 or so 1 and 2 star reviews at product review- all trolls are they? The hundreds if not thousands of cumulative complaints on whirlpool, all trolls and haters too I suppose?

This one is truly staggering - the SIXTEEN out of SEVENTEEN ONE STAR REVIEWS at product review for itspot - only one of which seems to know who itspot really are - they're all trolls too I take it?

Even as tech4u you have a rather impressive 10 out of 11 one star reviews, clearly all trolls and haters too.

Decided to check Megabuy out on truelocal, what a surprise to find that you an impressive 1.7 out of 5 average from 20 reviews, would never have guessed the number would be that high. I didn't bother looking for any of your other aliases on truelocal, this is now farcical, no matter where I look, what I google there's just complaint after complaint.

Say what you will, defend yourselves until your heads fall off, the reviews and trail of unhappy customers you've left in your wake speaks volumes and what they have to say means far more than anything you could ever post here or anywhere.

Like the xfiles saying - the truth is out there - and it's all only a google search away.

You're like a bad onion, might look ok and shiny on the outside (your websites) but peel away a layer or two and it soon becomes obvious that it's completely rancid underneath.

  • Thanks Foobar,

we have about 200,000 customers. Our business continues to grow strongly, because of the service and great prices we deliver to our customers, this does speak volumes.

Feel free to put those numbers in as a percentage against 200,000 unique purchasers - we have a fantastic customer service team and actually have a retail storefront… unlike most.

I find online reviews to be a bit misrepresented, because only a very small % of people who are unhappy, make the effort to post.

    Cheers :)

    • because only a very small % of people who are unhappy, make the effort to post.

Finally some truth, I actually believe this statement to be 100% accurate.

Most of the unhappy ones just remain silent which is exactly what I would expect them to do, I have no doubt that the actual number of angry/disgusted/irritated/whatever customers you've had to be far higher than those that have bothered to tell their story in public and going by what you've said, you seem to know it too.

I know you've got happy repeat customers, no doubt, but I've also read some of the happy ones posts then later on I've read where they've been done over and are no longer happy. It honestly beggars belief.

Tell me, did the guy who was promised a bonus UPS ever get it?

You've thrown that 200K number around a few times, out of your 200,000 'unique' customers, how many are repeat / return clients vs one offs who have never and probably will never come back?

You're also making out like your retail store is a big deal and that you're one of a few to have one - let's not forget just how new it is and how little stock it actually carries. Looking at the list I've generated below, I'm fairly sure many others also have storefronts, so it's not really as big of an issue as you'd like it to be.

Experiment - I'll do a search for a common item on staticice, something that you'll definitely have and then I'll do a productreview score for the top 20 results and see where you come in that list. I at this point have absolutely no idea what the result is going to be. Ok part the way through, have had to leave some out due to no reviews. List now done couldn't quite make 20 as too many have no reviews and I started getting duplicated results.

      Store Review Average
PC Case Gear 4.5 from 24 reviews
      Scorptec 3.8 from 23 reviews
      Eyo 3.1 from 12 reviews
Computer Alliance 2.8 from 48 reviews
      Umart 2.8 from 57 reviews
      DSE 2.7 from 235 reviews
      MSY 2.7 from 189 reviews
JB Hifi 2.6 from 298 reviews
      Mwave 2.5 from 126 reviews
      Officeworks 2.5 from 133 reviews
      Topbuy 2.4 from 196 reviews
      CentreCom 2.2 from 87 reviews
Blacktea Tech 1.8 from 5 reviews
Shopping Square 1.8 from 61 reviews
      i-Tech 1.7 from 19 reviews
      iiBuy 1.5 from 39 reviews
      Megabuy 1.5 from 59 reviews
      Gamedude 1.4 from 58 reviews

Well, can't say I'm shocked. I'll bet if you were at the top of this list, you'd be saying how wonderful online reviews are and how they truly reflect your customer base instead of disparaging the numbers.

Somehow you've managed to tick of an awful lot of people as Megabuy, ITSpot and Tech4u. The only brand not yet affected appears to be WAComputers and if memory serves, that's the newest disguise so it's probably only a matter of time before that one starts circling the bowl as more and more are subject to the Megabuy experience.

I could keep saying things and pointing out the bleeding obvious but I'm actually tired of it. All I want is for people to make informed choices and not learn the hard way like so many of us have. You may think your customer service is fabulous etc, but I along with countless others would disagree and even suggest that such a notion is outright delusional.
