Le Club Platinum status is usually only obtained after 60+ stays at an Accor property in a calendar year.
I've had Platinum status for the past year as a result of one of these deals, and it's provided great benefits in the form of room upgrades, free drinks, late checkouts and particularly attentive service.
Platinum status benefits include:
•100% more points
•A priority desk in more than 2500 hotels worldwide
•A drink and a welcome gift in Sofitel hotels
•A room always available before your arrival
•An upgrade
•Late check-out until 4pm
•A dedicated customer service
•Guaranteed room availability 5 days before your arrival
•One Thalassa Sea and Spa Institute beauty product and treatment in Sofitel Thalassa Sea and Spa hotels
•In Adagio hotels: 1) Welcome gift for stays of 10 nights or more 2) Late check-out
Recommended if you're planning a stay in an Accor property in the next year.
EDIT: FOR THOSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO CARRY OVER / MERGE ACCOR POINTS FROM OTHER ACCOUNTS, IT CAN BE DONE. INSTRUCTIONS HERE: http://www.pointhacks.com.au/merge-accor-leclub-accounts-if-...

+2 votesif you travel regularly and use Marriott, check out the Marriott "Taste of Platinum" challenge. You have to ask for it specifically and then it's up to the customer service if you get approved so maybe tell them you have a lot of travel coming up or something like that (I got approved, my colleague didn't).
Based on various internet forums, you will have better luck using the contact function the Marriott website (as opposed to emailing directly).Basically they give you platinum status immediately for 3 months, and then you have 3 months to stay 15 nights (or some other condition they may impose). During the 3 months you have full platinum privilege. I did it earlier in the year and kept it.
Platinum at marriott give you club lounge access, free internet, free upgrade, and bonus 500 points each stay. free lounge access is the key… because in all the hotels i've stayed in, this means free booze every evening (a huge saving!!!).
I believe priority club (holiday inn) offer a similar program.
dnnnnnnnnng on 11/01/2013 - 21:29 ¶Indeed. You can also go for a Starwood (SPG) Platinum Challenge for ~18 nights over 3 months. Accor's program hardly compares to these though!

+3 votesLe Club is good if you stay in Sofitel, Pullman, or MGallery hotels often (Room upgrade offer only applies to these hotels). Benefits for the other Accor chain hotels (Novotel, Mecure, etc) are pretty much non-existant although you might get lucky and get the odd upgrade here or there.
Also, the points you rack up with them are pretty useless in terms of redemption/conversion options.
Definitely not as good as Hyatt, Mariott, or Starwood programs, but hey it's free (which kinda reflects on the product)
+2 votesAnyone with an existing account having trouble signing up? If I enter my email address it throws an error (and I note the URL contains the phrase 'already-member').
The instructions say "If you already have a profile, please enter your login details (email, password)." — but no place to enter your email address or password…
+5 votesIf you use gmail just add a . in your username.
Gmail doesn't see dots within usernames.
ie: john.smith@gmail.com = johnsmith@gmail.com = jo.hnsmi.th@gmail.com etc
+4 voteskeep this in mind.. i went from platinum to classic because i did not use it enough.
When you join the Le Club Accorhotels program you can access different statuses. Your status is determined by your account activity over a 12-month (365-day) period.
Your status changes when you fulfill the conditions described below. You retain this status for a 12-month (365-day) period. If, at the end of these 12 months, you again fulfill the status conditions, it will be renewed for another 12 months (365 days). If you no longer fulfill the conditions during the following 12 months, you will be awarded the status corresponding to your activity. The card corresponding to your new status is sent to you immediately.
The Program rewards allocation rules are linked to your status on the date of stay (check-in date). Program benefits are only granted to you if the corresponding stay is eligible, i.e. it entitles you to earn Le Club Accorhotels points.
Each status opens up a whole new world of rewards:
Classic status: you become a Le Club Accorhotels Classic member as of your first stay in an Accor hotel.
Gold status: from 30 overnight stays per year in an Accor hotel or 10,000 Le Club Accorhotels points.
Silver status: from 10 overnight stays per year in an Accor hotel or 2500 Le Club Accorhotels points.
Platinum status: from 60 overnight stays per year in an Accor hotel or 25,000 Le Club Accorhotels points.

signed up a year ago and recently just use this to upgrade my stay at the Sebel & Citigate Albert Park Melbourne. I suggest just sign up for it and you never know when you will need it. I certainly didnt go out of my way to book at Sebel, it was by chance that Sebel had this deal going on and i just so happened to have Platinum status.
+3 votesdnnnnnnnnng on 10/01/2013 - 21:34 ¶Change the address in your old account to something disposable, or if you have a gmail account just introduce some periods eg. eecchhoo@gmail = e.ecchoo@gmail. You'll still get the email and the Accor database will register a unique address
Ibuyonlineonly on 10/01/2013 - 21:31 ¶I just signed up and got the above message. Doesn't mention anything about getting platinum status…??!!
edit/ Just received confirmation email with platinum status :)
easternculture on 10/01/2013 - 22:13 ¶This is what i got in my email
ACCOUNT BALANCE ON January 10, 2013:
0STATUS:
Le Club Accorhotels PlatinumMEMBER NUMBER:
30810346481*****
tanoshiiki on 10/01/2013 - 22:10 ¶Thanks.
My membership was demoted recently, but I have 1000 points in my account from entering a facebook comp. Not sure whether I should forego those points and sign-up again.

johnms1986 on 10/01/2013 - 22:39 ¶How long before confirmation email was sent?
EDIT: Never mind just got it. Platinum status was on there.
Cheers OP
+4 votesAccor platinum status is effectively useless. I stayed at a couple of their hotels and was never recognized.
My other hotel stays have had my gold/platinum status almost instantaneously recognize.
Basically, the status isn't worth the effort at all.
Great marketing campaign though.
+3 votesClifton,
It is recognised at Sofitel, Pullman & MGallery.
At Sofitel, they bumped up my room to top exec floor with views with drinks and cake ready in my room and next day fruit bowl. But if you stayed at others like Mecure and NOvotel, yeah then it's pretty much useless.
heathsouter on 13/01/2013 - 10:19 ¶i got a free upgrade, free car parking and late checkout when i used it at Sebel Adelaide. I really needed the late checkout as i was a bit green the night before… too much pre-drinks

chunkystyler on 11/01/2013 - 06:34 ¶I'm getting the following error;
"The request failed and the error is unknown or undefined."This happens when I accept the t&c and click continue at the end of page 3. :(

dnnnnnnnnng on 12/01/2013 - 11:52 ¶Advantage Plus is a paid-for subscription that isn't worth the investment unless you travel to Accor hotels very frequently
ilikebargains on 11/01/2013 - 09:13 ¶does anyone know if the benefits still apply if you pre-pay through sites like wotif? I guess if you call them after the booking to confirm?
ilikebargains on 11/01/2013 - 09:24 ¶from reading the T&C pdf it seems it may need to be a direct booking

ilikebargains on 11/01/2013 - 09:52 ¶Well firstly there are other sites that don't charge any booking fee, secondly i never change the booking and thirdly i prefer not having a hold of the entire value of the room being taken off the card for two weeks, along with an incidentals bond, as well as having to pay the room fee on checkout, as i use a visa debit. Hopefully it's not beyond you now.
+1 voteilikebargains on 11/01/2013 - 10:42 ¶What is beyond ME personally is why some posts get negged on here. Feels like a Panic at the Disco concert posting in here sometimes.
Thanks for the info, i have only stayed at the Sofitel once and paid the traditional way back in the day, i forget if i have used other Accor hotels before. May have stayed at the Mercure a long time ago. If Accor makes you pre-pay and not take a hold other than incidentals when you arrive then that's great, i'm used to crown/hyatt policy.
ilikebargains on 11/01/2013 - 09:21 ¶Also there is some text in the T&C saying the card is only sent to you after your first stay:
The Le Club Accorhotels Loyalty card is sent to the Member after their
first stay at a participating hotel, and within 3 weeksDoes this application process negate that line? Also there are some funny conditions to using the club:
The commitments or rules to be followed by the Member to avoid being
excluded from the Program are:
– to always be polite
+1 voteilikebargains on 11/01/2013 - 09:24 ¶nevermind, it says at the end:
Your Le Club Accorhotels card will be sent directly to your home address after your first stay at one of our hotels. Until then, simply state your membership number when you arrive at the hotel.
+1 voteNothing against the OP, but having had this last year I attempted to use it in Singapore.
The hotel refused to accept it. None of the 'platinum benefits' were provided, nor did they even want to give me the organisation contracted rates I should have been eligible for.
I complained to Le Club Accor and they pretty much just gave me a stock standard "we will check it out" answer and then never did anything.
I'll be sticking to their competition who actually do recognise their own services.

BloodSail Admiral on 11/01/2013 - 15:05 ¶Hi! Owl, what is the hotel's name ? I will try to avoid that one.
-1 voteedwinlin88 on 11/01/2013 - 15:29 ¶What "platinum benefits" were you expecting??
Room upgrade & drink is only offered for Platinum guests at a Sofitel property.
With the other hotels in the chain, a priority desk, double points & late check-out are the only benefits offered.
As for organization contracted rates, usually booking in advance with corporate code and valid ID upon check-in is required.
(general statement, not assuming you did or didn't meet those requirements)
+1 voteYou do realise "platinum benefits" are only provided at Sofitel, Pullman & MGallery hotels right? What would you expect to get in a say Ibis hotel? Room upgrade to another of the exact same type of room?
Considering there are no Sofitel, Pullman or MGallery hotels in Singapore (yet), I think hardly the fault of the hotel that they didn't provide something they weren't obligated to provide in the first place!
You are certainly allowed to complain that the program is stupid and worthless because the benefits are ridiculously restrictive, which most people would agree with you. However you are complaining on a completely invalid point.
dnnnnnnnnng on 11/01/2013 - 21:31 ¶I am guessing you were at the Singapore Ibis in Bugis. It's a budget hotel and I think the only 'benefit I've ever got there is a few extra complimentary bottles of water on a hot day
+1 votepetestrash on 11/01/2013 - 10:18 ¶I think they are getting ozbargained
"Service Temporarily Congested..Sorry for the inconvenience. Please try again in a few minutes."
johnms1986 on 11/01/2013 - 13:25 ¶Don't know if anyone can help with this. So if i wanted to book a room, do i deliberately book a standard room in the hope of an upgrade? Or because they will see 0 points and "platinum" will they play the "subject to availability" card?
+1 voteHmm.. This is a good point and I'm really curious as to what will happen. Maybe a particular hotel can simply see their status?
If this is indeed the case, the whole exercise is pretty pointless.
I do however have full intentions to tell my friends this evening over drinks about how I'm a Platinum member.
ilikebargains on 11/01/2013 - 15:00 ¶as far as i can tell, if you're in the club, you're in the club and should be treated accordingly. However that's just using logic which can sometimes lead to problems. Just gotta try it i guess.
+1 voteFrom personal experience, even though it says "upgrade upon availability", over the past year I've been upgraded at each MGallery and Sofitel I've stayed at, in Aus, NZ and Asia (including my first stay, where my points/stays weere at 0), with one exception. Generally you can expect to be upgraded to the next tier - so choose your room accordingly. The one time I wasn't provided with Platinum entitlements and a few other things went wrong on a 4 night trip to a Sofitel in China, I was promptly refunded AUD $930.00 upon complaining to the manager - the full cost of my stay!!! That definitely made signing up for Platinum statusof value.
johnms1986 on 11/01/2013 - 16:54 ¶Thank you all for the help. I suppose the only way to find out is to book a room. If anyone books anything in the near future, let us know how it goes.
dnnnnnnnnng on 11/01/2013 - 21:33 ¶Your experience is certainly better than mine, and the norm from what I've read on the Internet. I have heard that the Sofitel in Brisbane has just started recognising Platinum Accor status again, but your mileage will vary from hotel to hotel.

Worth signing up to hopefully get 'something for nothing', but as an A-Club Platinum for the past few years I don't have many favourable words to say about the program. Platinum has got me room preference, late check out, a few bottles of water and the odd free drink from 50+ nights. Absolutely no comparison to IHG Priority Club / Starwood (SPG) / Marriott Rewards / Club Carlson etc.
