expired Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 for $9 (VIC/QLD/WA Only, after $40 Cashback)
This was posted 4 years 3 months 28 days ago, and might be an out-dated deal
I just bought this today!
Officeworks is selling “Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000” (RRP $149.95) for $49. That's before $40 cash back! You are only paying $9!!!!!
During this period, Microsoft offers 25% cash back on the RRP til the end of Jan 2009, which is $40 (takes about 60 days to get that). That means you pay $49, and after cash back, you paid $9.
It is a great mouse as it can switch between Bluetooth or 2.4Ghz wireless. The receiver can be used as a 1Gb thumb drive as well. (The driver reports as USB hub with thumb drive + wireless mouse attached).
The battery is come with the mouse and its rechargable! Best ever deal!

A huge thankyou for letting us all know about this one…
Nice change from free perfume samples on this site (which the Mrs just loves and she wants to know when they're coming back!)
All WA metro stores have now sold out (got 2 - 1 each for me and the Mrs!).
I see they're selling them on Ebay as well…not cheap in my opinion..
Let's hope Microsoft is not as tardy with their cashback payment as another well known multinational IT hardware company who sHould Probably remain anonymous. (or not, if you read between the lines!)\
keep em coming plz
TeaEarlGreyHot on 30/01/2009 - 23:30 ¶Reminds me of a funny that was going around last year, after HP bought out EDS (the US company that invented IT out-sourcing in the 60's).
Now, EDS had just announced their new company logo / script: "EDS, an HP company".
Within 24hrs some clever-dick had come up with a cartoon cell depicting a large bottle of HP sauce above the caption: "EDS, an HP out-sauced company".

TeaEarlGreyHot on 29/01/2009 - 20:17 ¶You'd better be quick, because the MS 25% h'ware rebate ends in 2 days!

"Between 1st November 2008 and 31st January 2009 simply purchase one or more selected genuine Microsoft® Hardware products from an authorised reseller in Australia and you can redeem a Cash Back to the value of 25% off the recommended retail price (including GST)."I think I'll be making a trip to my local OW tomorrow for one of these tasty morsels…
Live Long and Prosper.

clandestino on 29/01/2009 - 20:50 ¶If I purchase tomorrow, can I send in the cashback claim in February? I'm worried that Microsoft might say "sorry - we received your claim after 31st Jan".

no i don't think that will; be a problem as it says as long as its purchased between the time =D
i think there was something about receiving the cash back by february something though
but probably mid-end of february.I JUST NOTICED GUYS, IT SAYS only available online ON THE OW PAGE FOR THE MOUSE…
DID THE GUY WHO POSTED THIS BUY ONLINE OR AT STORES? =(

TeaEarlGreyHot on 29/01/2009 - 21:06 ¶Incorrect!
It is 25% off RRP.
See the table in the MS link in my earlier comment. Every product has a set rebate $ value, determined by its RRP.

shane_ferns10 on 29/01/2009 - 21:36 ¶Works with both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth; rechargeable battery; 1GB of flash memory on the receiver. This is perfect for the price.

shane_ferns10 on 29/01/2009 - 22:01 ¶Dam only online, do you think it would be possible to do in store??
chanraymond on 29/01/2009 - 22:18 ¶anyone knows if OW in WA still has any in stock and if it's possible to get it in-store?
+1 voteshane_ferns10 on 30/01/2009 - 07:39 ¶I called up they said it was 82 bucks but i asked the guy to recheck the price and scan it and check the system and he said it's 49 in store, good luck guys.
TeaEarlGreyHot on 30/01/2009 - 08:53 ¶Here are the full spec's for this mouse http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDe...
At 85mm, it's 15mm smaller than my Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 http://www.microsoft.com/australia/hardware/mouseandkeyboard..., so it's quite small.

mikafamily on 30/01/2009 - 09:07 ¶Bought 2 at my local OW in Bendigo this morning for $49 each . Yeah!!!!
webbiegareth on 30/01/2009 - 12:34 ¶I managed to brave the Melbourne heatwave and picked one up from their Airport West store. I think I got the last one! I know that MS will take a few months to put the money into my bank account, but really…. a total cost of $9 is an absolute bargain. :)
kikoprincess on 30/01/2009 - 12:43 ¶i bought 2 for $49 each at West Burleigh. There are like TONNES left
webbiegareth on 30/01/2009 - 15:22 ¶It should scan as $49…. it did for me! Maybe tell them to call another store (i.e. Airport West store, which is where I got mine from).
shane_ferns10 on 30/01/2009 - 16:28 ¶just picked up 1 from Elsternwick Officeworks(Victoria) for 49 there was more 1 left.
shane_ferns10 on 30/01/2009 - 18:18 ¶so do you just photocopy the receipt and print or do you send them the actual invoice given to you by the casheir.
+1 votemikafamily on 30/01/2009 - 19:13 ¶You need to complete the online claim form which generates a claim number. Copy your receipt and attach a printout of the completed claim page. Then send it to Bill !
PS installed one of mine on a laptop. sweeeet little mouse !!

I picked up a few from the Punchbowl and South Strathfield stores (NSW) and they still had a couple left. I had called Five Dock in the afternoon and they had 1 left in stock. Buying them in store is even better than online - especially as the online one didn't apply to NSW and didn't need to pay the handling charge. A few weeks ago I purchased the Microsoft 3000 Wireless Mouse from Harvey Norman ($9 after $15 cashback), but this is an even better deal. It's got so much more features!
Thanks l_faye for finding this deal and posting it!

There are still around 100 in Sydney metro stores, my local store doesn't any left so I couldn't be bothered driving around to hunt one down because I don't really need one, but would be nice to get a couple for birthday presents or something.
If you really want one today (last day to qualify for cash back), just go into any store and ask them to search TEMST8472 in the SAP screen, it will list quality/store. May be you can call them, but being Saturday and back to school, they may not give you an accurate answer over the phone.
Bear in mind that the system quality may not reflect the actual quality on hand due to missing/lost/damaged/stolen stock. So unless you really really want or need one, it's probably not worth the effort running around.
yiming1982 on 31/01/2009 - 20:04 ¶I think i took 2 just before you in Alexandria OW. They put the 8000s in a corner for some reason lol…..
McLarenMercedes on 01/02/2009 - 10:10 ¶My local OW has some and was gonna get one only to realise the cashback has expired from today :o(
