Common Question: What is an ASUS Refurbished Notebook?

Refurbished Notebooks are re-packaged into brand new packaging and include a full 12 month warranty, which is backed up directly by ASUS. There is little to no sign of wear or use with these notebooks as they are usually the result of ASUS repairing a faulty notebook that was "dead out of the box".

  • Looks decent, but of course the best thing about these Transformers is the keyboard dock. Can this be updated to any newer Android version?

    • It's confirmed to be stable on Jelly Bean. But that's an unofficial update (CyanogenMod).

Either way, I'm damn glad I bought the Lenovo Thinkpad Tab with 3g for $230 last time. Shame this one is refurb and has no 3g.

  • I would lean towards something with more guts.

Excellent Chinese brand tablets that can be had for under $300 that offer quad core 1.5ghz +

Wife's had her's (TF101 with Dock) for year and a half now…still going strong!

Having said that I will be replacing it with an iPad and a bluetooth logitech keyboard/case. I know it isn't comparing apples with apples (pun intended) but I have found the latter to just be a much better all round unit.

Our 101 is around 3 years old now, running like the day I bought it.

    • My refurb seems great. Can't believe how fast it is given the age and that's after using my work iPad 3. This is just web browsing but.
