$12/M S, $15/M M, $20 Starter Pack Fee, Contract Free Plan Live Connected

140

back from $15 to $12. It is a 3G only plan, does not have the same $500 LC to LC as in the past, and i dont think it has free social networking. But for 1GB and $500 standard call value it still represents good value

Looks like they are recovering from their insane policy change earlier in the year.
Still not really good enough. Better but not there yet. The old plans were much more generous for cheaper.
IE free social sites. Live Connected to Live connected call allowance etc.

Thanks for posting though, its good to see some movement. I have family members who would sign up if they were as good as they used to be. Its hard for people to agree to accept less for more money.

  • Still doesn't trump Tribe 11. But the Vaya vs LC battle is really getting heated.. 20% 4G plans from Vaya and now this. Wonder if this is permanent though.

    • Yep, that the one, the Tribe series. I imagine their new sales stopped dead after the change, so hopefully it will be.

      • I think the old prices may have been so low because optus were offering extra incentives/kickbacks that they dont offer anymore.

Maybe optus is going back and offering bigger kickbacks again.

  • Customers made their choice and LC is screwed up apparently. So they are pulling back and to recover old plans.

vaya way beter value.. 50c/mb excess data is a joke. plus vaya, starter pakc is practically free with first month free access

Yes, but look out for the Vaya exit fee (if you stay less than 24 months)! Doesn't exist on LC.

      • +1

Um port out fee = FREE. Only if you cancel by not porting out its cost 30$.. so practically its same as LC. Only diff i can see is LC is per/KB where as Vaya is PEr/MB. Not much of an issue on a smart phone

      • lol you guys related?

I think exit fee applies if you cancel your service with them at ANY time (even after 24 months). It doesn't apply if you port out. Fees here

        • mate i think we are related.. u just jinx what i wrote haha.. all u need is a 2$ sim to nother provider and just port to it. simples

        • haha, some of us don't need to identify our gender to be a man. ;) I was pointing out that you can cancel LC without a penality. With Vaya you need to jump hoops (i.e. port) if it's less than 24 months. Given I got -4 votes I won't bother informing people in the future.

  • $3 extra for the M plan makes sense I reckon.

  • Unlimited text on the $15 plan. If you text a lot I think this is the cheapest unlimited text offer you can get anywhere.

  • Does LC or Vaya include international calls in their cap plans like TPG?

        neither do

        Here is LC's inclusions

Talk and text to anyone $500
Standard voice calls within Australia (local, national, GSM mobiles)
Standard voice calls within Australia to another Live Connected mobile
        Standard national SMS & MMS
        International SMS
        Voicemail Retrieval
        13, 1300, 1800

If you want International calls included in the cap, best go with TPG

  • TPG PAYG looks like garbage now. x_X.

The $12 plan is the equivalent to $50 PAYG.

    • not really
With TPG, you can use the included credit to make international calls

      • You want cheap International go VOIP e.g. mynetfone, pennytel etc.

  • Seriously research these guys before signing up .

This company will disconnect you / drop you as a customer as soon as you open a TIO dispute whether it is legitimate or not. Because they believe a customer should not be able to dispute their charges ?!

      BEWARE before you sign up.

  • No plan changes tho for this one…. so you cant move up or down

  • Anyone have any idea how to check your balance through an iphone app?
Both consume and LC app dont work and havent for months..
    Cheers

    • I've been using Consume with LC and never had any long-term issues. Had a problem quite a while ago (last year), sent the log to Consume devs and it was fixed within a couple of days. But apart from that no issues with using Consume to check my balance. Currently on iOS6.1.2, Consume 2.13.

      • Cheers green eggs! Going to send them my logs too because i'm running to same version (app/ios) but get "0" balance and data info.

  • Thanks for getting in touch. We are not able to process a plan change to one of the new 3G BYO plans. Optus has offered us a limited time special on our 3G plans for new contracts/port ins only, and have not made them available for existing customers plan changes. Changes to the 4G plans are still free should you need to upgrade or even downgrade your plan. However, if you would like to be on the new Autumn BYO 3G plan, you can port out from LC then port back into LC

  • www.Vaya.net.au is better then Live Connected, live connected don't have customer service.
