Yes and when you rinse the blade for your next shave, it’s run under cold water usually so the heated element becomes cold again. Unless you run it under warm water at which point makes the heated element redundant because the entire blade is warm already
I'll probably cop some sheet for this, but nah I'm good.
Ya gotta be a special kind of snowflake to take offence to a company standing up against toxic masculinity and the woke "Manosphere"
Yeah, they were so proud of it they deleted the add.
Doesn’t matter what they did. It’s how you respond to it. And you take offence to it. And just like everybody else that did, makes you all special snowflakes whose feelings get hurt too easily.
@Cyphar: @Cyphar Nah, I've just got better things to do than argue with someone on the internet. Unlike most of the "woke" community, I actually dgaf about your opinion, even if it's wrong :)
@ignited141: And it is very wrong. Since when should you not try to pick up a lady that walks by you and takes your fancy. That could potentially be your future wife and family and they were suggesting you’re not allowed to do that. GTFO
@Cyphar: So you think Libra should try and use negative women's stereotypes to try and sell sanitary products as well? Do you not believe in equality?
The irony abounds.
@illogicalerror: Nice strawman. There’s a pretty big difference between calling out toxic behaviors that harm everyone and using reductive stereotypes to sell products. The Gillette ad wasn’t mocking men, it was challenging outdated, harmful norms like bullying, harassment, and the “boys will be boys” excuse. That’s not the same as an ad implying women are too emotional to function. If you can’t tell the difference between critique aimed at progress and actual sexist tropes, then you’re not arguing in good faith.
@Cyphar: The "problem" "calling out" "outdated, harmful norms" is they're not actually modern male owned norms. This isn't the 1980's. They are the talking points of the leftist agenda, those championed by an extremely vocal minority targeting a misbehaving minority.
The ad was mocking its (Gilette's) understanding of men, not men themselves. The negative response towards Gillette from men was appropriate.
I have very different ideas of what negative stereotypes that harm everyone Libra could use.. Like bullying and shaming other females about their appearance, mocking or ridiculing masculinity with other women and children, manipulating others with one's femininity.
Would not sell hygiene products… but only snowflakes would dare be offended according to some theories.
@illogicalerror: If your takeaway is that this is part of a “leftist agenda,” then you’ve traded nuance for tribal talking points.
Saying the ad mocked Gillette’s understanding of men doesn’t really help your case, it still means the ad was trying to challenge what some men have been conditioned to accept as normal, which is exactly what it said it was doing.
@Cyphar: No. I have traded nothing.
You fail to realise the premise of the advertisement is virtue signalling which it was plainly obvious to the majority of men.
And I never said it was part of the leftist agenda, but are talking points from it, being so predominant in west coast US media production. They thought it would be a good idea, but were terribly wrong. Men don't want generalised and contentious social politics associated with their shaving kit.
You could argue that the majority of men are snowflakes which is why they didn't like the ad. Some might say that would put you in the same class of people as the advertising team who lead this monumental mess up to media, people who simply don't understand most men.
@illogicalerror: So let’s say Gillette was virtue signalling, even if that’s true, that doesn’t automatically make the message invalid. Companies respond to cultural shifts. That’s literally what marketing does.
If calling out bullying, harassment, and toxic “boys will be boys” behavior gets labeled as pandering, maybe the real issue is with how uncomfortable people are with being asked to reflect.
And speaking for “the majority of men” like we’re all a monolith just proves the ad’s point, some people still see any challenge to outdated behaviour as a personal attack. That’s not strength. That’s fragility dressed up as defiance.
@Cyphar: You're bringing up points that were already addressed, invalid repetition.
There's close analogies to be had with what happened with this Gillette campaign and what happened with Bud Light and Dylan Mulvaney. Completely oblivious marketing team virtue signals condescendingly to customers, customers unhappy.
No one was convinced then, either.
@illogicalerror: The Gillette and Bud Light cases are similar in that both brands tried to adopt a progressive stance. And yes, sometimes that doesn’t land with the market, that’s how marketing works.
But what these reactions to both campaigns make clear is that toxic masculinity is still a real issue, and many men feel personally threatened by even the suggestion that we can do better.
That’s not a marketing problem. That’s a masculinity problem.
I’ll leave the discussion here. I believe I’ve made my points clearly, and there’s nothing more productive to add on my end. I do respect your opinion, even if we fundamentally disagree.
@Cyphar: Yeah it's been a good debate, we don't have to agree.
I think we are experiencing a species devolution in terms of gender roles and society in general. Interconnected world has stolen our socialisation, international community has stolen our culture, gross excess has fuelled our greed… We are the human realisation of Universe 25. Fun times.
Pretty sure Gillette doesn't really sell well in the Middle East and Africa where the majority of this stuff is actually a problem.
LMAO How Ironic. Cyphar (the OG snowflake) got so offended at your point of view that he immediately insulted you with the word "snowflake" and then got upset when you insulted him back with "smooth brain" HAHAHA. What an absolute tool. The real snowflake is Cyphar and he can probably add feminist, femboy and white knight to that description too. Just check out the comments on this video dude. Men are fighting back and the masses support Andrew on this BS "toxic masculinity". I honestly hope the magnetic poles flip soon, society collapses and we get the opportunity to put all you femboys and feminists back in your places: https://youtu.be/joTCXKSR81o?t=222
I mean yeah, I used the word “snowflake” and judging by the meltdown that followed, it clearly struck a nerve.
When someone responds with femboy insults, collapse fantasies, and a link to a Piers Morgan rant as “proof,” it kind of writes itself. If the only way to feel right is to rage-share hot takes from a professional contrarian, maybe the ad wasn’t the problem, maybe self-reflection is.
I wouldn't bother dealing with simps like him. They are all so easily brainwashed that no amount of discussion can sway them. What I will say though is in 50 years time. This era will be talked about when men were attacked for being men and told basically they had to be more like women. Which in itself makes no sense especially when you cut right down to it most heterosexual women are more interested in men acting like men . But a minority with their own agenda were able to brainwash so many with their ideologies.
It looks like one of those nodes where we don't stand a chance. I tried, but apparently I'm limited to 6 negs.
It was only a few minutes ago that I was thinking about how these old worldviews will die with the people who hold them. It's just a matter of time.
I was reflecting about brief convos in the lunchroom of a new factory job. God I hate aussie factories. The music you have to listen to etc. Like, how someone can listen to the same shite for decades without hearing a single new thing is so foreign to me. And a waste of life.
Anyway, little convos about not having recycling bins or anything but cow's milk, etc. Anything the slightest bit progressive or different is shun.
And don't even think of competing with their confirmation bias bubbles. Absolutely impossible. You literally have to wait 'til they die, and then they're kids, but with time, the strength gets weaker, coz they'll have a gay or bi kid here and there, or one that picks up a book or makes friends with someone from a different country. Or by chance, some amazing teacher will get transferred to their country town state school.
But yeah, if I was ever to get involved in any sort of accelerationism, it would be in pushing that great replacement theory of their's. Like I'd actually make it happen. At the same time, tho', roll around in the shite with the pigs… yadda yadda. It's usually just best to pretend they don't exist.
Meanwhile I'll be woke af for life and what are these lil bishes gonna do about it? Here comes my next hate speech ban but i'll be back.
Hmm… warm shave
Definite lots of stroking in the Braun r&d department for this one
Should I buy or shouldn't I buy? Oooh… it's a close shave!
cough…
Just don't use it for……down there. Your manhood needs to stay cool.
Wouldn't rinsing razor with warm/hot water do the same job?
