Cheapest OLED 1440p monitor I've seen, the next cheapest is ~$800. Specs seem almost identical to the Alienware AW2725D so I wonder if it's the same panel. From what I've seen most of these new oleds are very similar in performance anyway. No reviews out yet as this seems to start shipping around 30th September. 14-day change of mind returns if it turns out to be bad but this is a pretty insane price for 1440p OLED monitor.

Edit: Decided against buying this. As people have pointed out kogan don't have the best track record with this stuff. Managed to grab an Alienware for $680 with student discount https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/913603. This is a much better deal for a proven monitor which is ready to ship immediately. Wouldn't have posted this one if I knew about the Dell deal beforehand

  • It looks identical to odyssey g6 imao gg

Unclear about what screen coating it has, and the price is pretty high considering you'd get a factory second 360Hz variant for about $650.

      • +1

Do you have a link to this 360HZ factory second?

    • +11

      It's not.

      So how kogan works is

Samsung display (Not samsung electronics separate entity)

      makes a panel

Tier 1 panels go to samsung/dell/aoc/gigabyte whoever wants them.

Pass 2 panels will have some defect or not meet the yields or some issue that was later fixed in the production process (usually replacing a burnt pixel or or electronic component)

Pass 2 panels go to ppl like kogan and ktc and the shit brands like Prism

This panel will have the KTC issue which is the same panel, where it has 10 percent less colour volume than the Standard variant.

It will also have VERY bad VRR flickering,Kogan also does not make it's own firmware so expect software

      Honestly.

      DO NOT BUY this..

1..Kogan offers no burn in protection, and it's 1 year warranty

2..An actual name brand AOC makes an oled you can buy for 660 australia..buy that.

      • Link? Or was that a one-of sale price?

  • +32

Kogan is a nightmare to deal with if you have a warranty issue or DOA , personally I won't spend a penny at Kogan myself ever again.

    • -2

Ouft, why? I mean it's cheap but I like the deal a bit better but for $400 extra, will be worth it?

      • +1

        $400 extra and you’re very much in AW2725Q territory. 4k 240hz.

        • Which is like nearly double the price…

          • @Edyolo: Oh yeh, I just noticed I can get the same monitor from alien ware for 679. Interesting.

          • @Edyolo: Correct, which is obviously a much more different price bracket. But this was in reply to a commenter considering $400 extra for a better brand. In which case, just grab AW2725Q.

            BTW, ATL is <$900.

I hate everything about kogan. Had a huge issue with them when a TV stand I ordered with them went missing in a complete wrong state. Would refuse to replace/refund until it was "located and returned back to them", meanwhile i had a tv sitting on the floor. Just a scummy company in general. Can't believe they're still in business tbh

      • +9

        Agreed 💯.

I had a similar experience where I ordered and paid for a brand new TV and they delivered me a TV with cracked panel. After 2 weeks of back and forth with their support gets me a "replacement" that looked used. It took over a month of dealing with their nightmare support to get a resolution. Thieving bastards.

Kogan = dog (not in a good way) and I'll do everything in my power to not recommend them to anyone.

    • +3

Couldn’t agree more, I purchased sheets from them and they sent the wrong size (they sent king but purchased king single).
Took them 2 months to even acknowledge my concern and then told me I’m out of the return window, even though I sent them a return request the same day it was delivered. Got it sorted eventually but their return responses are weeks apart after their initial contact so for that reason I’m out.

I bought a 3840x1600 monitor not long ago and posted a deal here about it. It had a single stuck pixel so I let Kogan know and they immediately sent me a replacement, even for 1 stuck pixel amongst 6 million + pixels lol

Granted that replacement came with a shattered screen…

But they are now sending me ANOTHER replacement, which is what should happen. But they kicked up no fuss about it. So I am definitely not experiencing the same nightmare dealings that you experienced it seems. Maybe they've improved since last you had to deal with them

      • +1

I’m glad you’ve had a good experience, sadly my experience was the start of this year

      • It does sound like you're having a nightmare experience though…

        • +1

I can see how you might think that but really, all I've done is set up the initial monitor and continued using it the whole time with a singular stuck pixel. They sent out the replacement without me having to send the original back, so even though it came with a big crack on the screen, I didn't then find myself without a monitor because I still have the 1st one set up and ready to go. They've now sent a third one and the 2nd one will go back easy enough. As long as this third one is without fault, I'll just switch it with the original and send the og back, ez done and dusted.

If they had made me send the original back before sending the (cracked) replacement, then yeah I'd say it was a nightmare experience. But because they sent a replacement first, it's just a generic experience imo

    Buyer beware. Warranty no dog

  • +13

Pay the extra $150 for the Alienware.

  • +4

Pass. This uses a. 2nd pass qd oped panel from Samsung display it will have lower colour volume than other models

1 year warranty and they offer no burn in protection

60 bucks more gets u an aoc oled with 3 years and a burn in warranty

    • Where is this AOC oled for $60 more??

      • +3

        https://www.pbtech.com/au/product/MONAOC92758/AOC-Q27G4ZD-27…

And yes…I have rang..that is Australian stock.. in a warehouse in Australia with gst paid

        That is the exact…same panel

A qd oped qd56 from Samsung display

With a burn in protection. 1 a year and a 3 year warranty.

Only a moron would choose the kogan they are Australian known for not honoring warranty's

  • -4

    need 4k

    • +5

      Okay

  • Are 19” monitors not a thing anymore? All i see posted is 27” and the occasional 24”

    • might be able to get a 19" portable type c monitor

19" desktop screens dont really exisit, nor 20"

usually the smallest you see if 22"

  • +1

All the big companies, invest a lot into firmware for burn in, hdr etc and they have burn in warranty. AW has advanced replacement. So you wont have downtime or the least. What does this have ?

You can buy the 27inch AW version for $200more i believe..

also this doesn't ship till 30th sept. But who knows if they wont delay

Also "This product comes with a 1 Year Warranty."

Considering all the above and no reviews. This isn't a Deal when you can buy the AW or other brands for $200 more.

Not negging, because its OP's first post but I hope you arent buying this OP. Just get the well established models.

    • The manual shows that there are a bunch of OLED care settings you can change. https://assets.kogan.com/files/usermanuals/KAMN27OD28LA_UG.p…

Ofc no one knows how well implemented they are yet

      • +1

        He's still right

Kogan buys 2nd pass screens then badges them.

This like most kogan screens will have poor her sampling and colourvolume firmware is needed

This means there was some reason the panel didn't make it to a name brand

Oped with. 1 year warranty is a joke

Kigans warranty also doesn't cover burn in

  • Good news it shows these monitors won't always be 1200+

  • +1

I don't know you guys, I personally avoid ANY physical item "KOGAN" branded.

  • It's a shame these beautiful OLED panels will be wasted on Kogans woeful implementation.

  • -2

I still use my Kogan TV from 15 years ago I bought on eBay presale. Still works and picture quality is nearly as good as current TV's. They make good quality displays.

    • +2

      They don't make any displays!

  • I have been using a kogan ultra wide 34 inch 1440p for 5 years. Haven't missed a beat for what it is.
