Anyone have any hands on experience with this model? Any better than the Ryobi?
Bought one this week for $399, used it…and it is goooood! I wonder if i can the $100 back?
return it and buy it back
I'm thinking that. I will go down there tomorrow.
Or alternatively, buy one for $299 and return it with the old receipt for $399.
Buy the cheaper one and return it pretending it was the older receipt.
Walked in and they refunded $100. No problem. First time I've spent a negative amount at Bunnings!
@pangy: You must have been unwell.
How else can you explain not immediately spending more than the $100 you just had refunded?
Never thought I'd see this day… I've got the closest one on hold to collect!
None in WA that I can see, and $110 postage ruins the deal.
One pass?
Nope, one pass was not free, I ordered it with click and collect.
I managed to get one from Bibra Lake click and collect and it was just confirmed so try them?
Sorry guys, there was stock, just not in the stores close by to me. I followed the link below, and found and reserved by phone a unit in Balcatta WA. There was 2 left after mine. Happy chappy, thankyou OP.
For anyone interested, there was also a box of Kango multi use drill bits on clearance on the counter, i bought a 264mm long x 8mm, 10mm and 12mm of
these for $5 each.
I am not that familiar with that stock checker. DO you know how often is it updated? it is showing stock at a store near me, but the bunnings site is showing out of stock for that store.
Same. I also found one with zero, but that website says three. Data source should be same, so maybe a caching problem.
Ex vendor in Bunnings.
The stock does not reflect total stock on hand but reflects the quantity available on the shelf (floor stock). It does not include what's potentially in the pallet racking (top stock).
As for update frequency, not really sure, anything I checked against the system was spot on with youinstock. Their stock on hand count could still be incorrect though.
Noice!
I haven't ever used the cheapie Ferrex one I got from Aldi a few years ago, would've been about the same ballpark price too. Would've been a lot nicer having a Dewalt hogging up the space instead lol
Going to go out on a limb and say you probably don’t need a second thicknesser 🤣
lol obviously … one day I'll use that Ferrex planer … once …
Dewalt yellow makes a much nicer looking garage crash barrier than than Ferrex blue :P
Excellent footstool too
i have an old Jet thicknesser, picked up the dewalt today, not sure why, probably as had new blades, extraction nozzle, etc,and the jet is 20 years old and has done 4 reno’s needs blades, extraction nozzle, etc. which would cost more than $299.
In same boat. I bought the Ferrex one too and still in original box
I've got a Ryobi still in the box, Sherwood in the garage, and i'm still really struggling to not buy this
oh this is beautiful
$699 to $299 is amazing, too bad I don't even know what it does.
It reduces the size of your woody.
The idea of a planer is to make the wood plane.
It reduces thickness. So it should be a thinnesser
Both thickness and thinness mean the same thing.
I am no expert but maybe we should include the word planar with it as its used to create uniform thickness wood.
$284.05 with powerpass
Just made an CC order. Now I need some timber to buzz.
Yes but what I do with this?
Found the answer above.
Funny that it should be called Thinnen (non English word).
I think it's a perfectly cromulent word.
Thanks for reminding me of the $50 voucher I forgot to claim with the worse $399 deal from 3 months ago.
What did you buy?
The same thicknesser when it was $399.
Current stock
Kotara
30 Northcott Drive
Kotara NSW 2289
Used Bunnings Trade account to buy it for 284.05
Did the same late last night but my order was transferred to another local store as 3 c&c processed this morning and no stock was left.
Lovely Bunnings folk arranged stock first and had target store put it aside and phoned me to let me know.
Ordered one in the morning click and collect online, no email confirmation. Everyone getting their order?
2 more left in Pymble. Just bought one
Zero in stock according to website
Gotta go in store
Just returned mine at Gladesville if anyone’s after one. Didn’t need it in the end.
There’s 3 in Mandurah. Just stood there and looked at em for 15 minutes. Couldn’t justify it. I don’t think it’s a significant upgrade from my current Ryobi.
Just grabbed one at Belrose NSW, there's one left still.
1 left on the floor of the tool section at Villawood NSW.
Nice just bought one, What does this thing actually do?
3 left at Chatswood that aren't showing up the site
Got the last one at Burleigh this morning, but there were 2 in store when I rang earlier, even though stock level link above was showing 0. Worth ringing the store to see if they have any in stock. Great find OP!
As of 9am 30/08 - Got the last one at Gladesville. None at Pymble. 3 at Chatswood, but they're on the top shelf still on the pallet and I think they can't get them down straight away.
Yup, I went on a little adventure this morning hahaha
I called Chatswood just now. The reason those 3 are still on pallet is that they are not for sale until father's day promotion. They also told me that all other Bunnings are holding their stocks for the same reason. Don't know how true those statements are though.
😮💨 really wanted this
Ordered one from Belrose yesterday, while bunnings promised to be ready within 4 hr and not receiving any response. It seems will never be ready anytime, phoned store multiple times wasted more than 1 hr and never get connected. Online chat also not helpful. For comparison, other bunnings like Pymble and Dural can pick up my call in seconds.
Will never do any purchase in Belrose, worse experience among all stores.
Finally grabbed last one from Dural. Thanks OP.
One available at the Gungahlin Bunnings in Canberra. Not labelled as clearance but will probably ring up correctly. I grabbed the last one at the Bunnings at the airport.
In in Brisbane- store says none in stock but I called up still have a couple here and there.
Call up before you go! You may be in luck!
Thanks for the post, great find!
was in bunnings today, they had one and guy didn’t collect it and they had no number, probably a few that people decided didn’t need it after nights sleep and it’s 37kg, and needs to be stored when not in use. Great if you have a real need for one, e.g doing a reno, but if it’s a just incase i need one ……
Just got last one at Capalaba (QLD) even though says no stock. Had $399 on but scanned at $299.
I was able to get the last one at the Penrith store this morning after calling up on a whim to see if they had stock. Thanks for posting this deal.
Anyone know of any left around metro Perth, by chance?
Does anyone know what part number for replacement blades? and where to get it from? Thanks

Fella reviewed this helical blade (sponsored): https://www.findbuytool.com/en-au/products/dewalt-13-planer-…
Thanks. Picked one from Melton, Vic today afternoon. There were 3 more left at the time. I was told there are 4 left in Taylors Lake too.
Looks like it has been removed.
Good find!
